Kitchen Staples and Their Properties

If you're any kind of kitchen user, there are a few things that are usually present. Things like bread, cheese, beans, and vinegar are all things that many kitchens keep in stock. So, here is a list of some staples you may have in your kitchen, and what they mean.

Bread: health, abundance, the hearth, kindship

Beans: wisdom in choices, luck, money, divination, prosperity

Butter: peace, friendships/relationships, spirituality

Cheese: goal completion, happiness, moon magic, health

Eggs: feminine/goddess magic, fertility, mysticism

Honey: joy, love, sex, wisdom, lust, purification, health

Milk (Cow's): feminine parenthood/guidance, love, sustenance, spirituality,

Rice: fertility, protection, luck, money, growth

Salt: purification, protection, grounding, cleansing

Sugar: banishing negativity, love, affection, invoking kindness/sweetness

White Vinegar: cleansing, purification, protection

Adding some things together melds their properties! Cooking in butter for your friends can strengthen your relationships with them, and baking bread can bring abundance into your home.

Prosperity Oil

I have many different recipes for oils, balms, and solutions, but this prosperity oil just might take the cake. It's a passionate, hyper-charged oil that's great not only for prosperity, but for luck as well. Let's get right into it.

What you'll need:

2-3 weeks

A jar with a lid

1.5 cups olive oil (money, peace)

1 acorn (power)

3 bay leaves (manifestation, good fortune, success)

1 stick of cinnamon (power, luck, prosperity, success)

1 tbsp whole cloves (money)

1 tbsp allspice berries (money, luck, treasure)

1 tbsp sea salt (cleansing)

1 tbsp dried ginger (prosperity)

What you'll do:

Make sure all of your herbs are dry. Add all of your ingredients into a jar and give it a good, heavy shake.

Set it in a dark corner somewhere and let it infuse for 2-3 weeks, giving it a good shake every few hours when you're awake and thinking about it.

All done! Your oil is now ready to use!

If you're extra like me, you can strain your oil and put it into an old olive oil bottle with a spout. This makes it much easier to add to spell jars and helps you control how much you use without too much of a mess with measuring spoons.

my brother had a brilliant idea that i wanted to share with other people who have four-legged family members: he trained our two cats to go directly to the door when they hear the fire alarm.

obviously at first the fire alarm sent them scrambling for cover, but he started slowly by giving them treats whenever it went off, when someone burned food or forgot to open the fireplace flu. he then progressed to calling them to the door to offer treats immediately after the alarm went off. and it actually wasn't too long before the cats voluntarily started going to the door upon hearing the alarm.

i think this was genius because in the event of a real emergency we know exactly where the cats will be and we will not have to waste precious time trying to find them to rescue them. i think this method would work equally well with dogs and probably other free-roaming pets such as rabbits, ferrets, etc. and i certainly encourage others to give it a shot!

Summer Stone Fruits

Here is a simple list of a few common (to my area) stone fruits and their magical correspondences. I won't go into details, just a simple list straight from my own grimoire.

Apricot: Warmth, healing, helping anxiety, beauty, elegance, love, happiness and positivity, learning.

Cherry: Love, sex, fertility, divination, feminity, friendship, blood.

Mango: Prosperity, joy, love, friendship, closeness.

Nectarine: Love, sweetness, strength, stability, memory, nurturing.

Peach: Creativity, joy, fun, sweetness, fertility, warding, banishing

Plum: Love, sleep, lust, transition, grace, elegance, sophistication. Especially helpful in spells focusing on helping transitioning genders (for all my other trans witches out there).

I have two OC's that I wish I had prints. 1)Samhain, the halloween potion witch(inspired by Blair from Soul eater) and occasionally charms poor fouls to drink her pumpkin potion so they become a member of her living and singing pumpkin garden

2) The Fox bard(name is in work) a changeling put into the family of wolves and since their first word the loudest cub of the pack. Their dream is to sing and sing to the world with joy. So their Mother gifted them a lute made out of rosewood. She bought it from a magical human artificer. His fur is silver, with a black cloud on their back that forms swirls on the side and white dots are scattered in that cloud. Their eyes are bright yellow; that's why their parents didn't think they were not a wolf.

Beginners Creativity Spell Jar

This is a super beginner-friendly spell jar that can help give your creativity a boost, help clear a creative block, or simply help you come up with a creative solution to a problem you might be facing.

What you'll need:

A jar

Orange or white wax (Orange symbolizes creativity)

Sharpie/Marker pen

One bay leaf (To set intentions)

Mint (Energizing creativity)

Cilantro (Creative success)

Cinnamon (Creativity)

Cloves (Compelling Creativity)

Fennel (Cleverness/Creativity)

Instructions:

Cleanse your jar however you prefer. I typically use incense, but shaking around salt can do the trick as well.

On your bay leaf, write "creativity"

Add in mint, cilantro, cinnamon, cloves, and fennel in whatever order you prefer.

Insert bay leaf. Fold up your bay leaf (it's okay if it crackles and breaks) if you need to.

Cap the jar, seal it with orange or white wax over the top, and ta-da!

How to use lemons in witchcraft (Pt. 1)

Part one: whole lemons I've had a few people ask me for more information on lemons in witchcraft, so here's a new series for you guys! There will be a few parts: whole lemons, flesh/juice, peel, and seeds. For simplicity sake, there will likely only be a max of three or four ideas on each post, so that it's not overwhelming and I feel like I can go into detail without the posts getting too long. Without further delay, let's get right into it!

Basics of lemons:

Whole lemons in witchcraft:

This ultra-easy negativity absorption trick

This slightly mean but ultimately useful-as-fuck-around-the-holidays spell

Bring a whole lemon with you when you're going somewhere that needs a significant amount of your energy. Lemons are extremely energizing and can offer a boost when you have tests, presentations, or interviews.

The first day after a full moon, press a whole clove into the feel of a whole lemon. Do this every day until the next full moon, preferably before you go to bed. The next full moon, bury it somewhere you consider a very peaceful place to invoke good luck and spiritual energy.

Throw one at your homophobic Mormon uncle.
