Hydrangea paniculata (panicled hydrangea)
Meanwhile, back at the library...
In summer, the petals of this hydrangea species are snow white but as autumn advances, they turn bright pink. I like them at this time of year the best. Our local library is home to this magnificent living wall, technically called the Semiahmoo Sky Garden. If this is a horticultural mural, then I applaud the artist/gardener for a welcome splash of color - as the autumn leaves begin to fall.
