I can't stop thinking about when Sukuna was talking to Gojo in episode 2. "so you're not the boss? any hierarchy not other than strength is worthless."

and how at first that sounds like such an edgy, stupid thing to say.

but a constant thing in jjk is the strongest being put on leashes, in cages (Gojo, Geto, Sukuna, Uro, Nanako and Mimiko, the Inumaki clan, most culling games players etc)

the weak coming together (the time vessel association and the higher ups in jujutsu society, the village elders) to trample on the strong and limit their ability to protect the them... causing cycles of conflict and unnecessary violence

instead of letting the strong protect them from themselves (find better ways to eliminate curses, not funding this research but instead freezing Yuki's salary when she took this into her own hands instead of their missions.)

so Gojo and Sukuna's early conversations are so different after understanding that "you'll be the first one I kill" is high praise if not flirting, it's being acknowledged as an equal, something Gojo hadn't had since Suguru - and because of Suguru, they probably share the same sentiment about manipulative hierarchies.

this feels so obvious now but I think another similarity between Sukuna and Gojo is that they were both constantly running RCT.

Gojo to automate infinity for hypervigilance, so he'd never be touched again unless on his own terms.

Sukuna's eyes move independently, his RCT isn't for that reason. but I think he runs it all the time, through his entire body.

sukuna ripping out Yuuji's heart bc he doesn't need it (and still kept unconscious Yuuji alive from within his innate domain), practically performing blood manipulation. Sukuna healing Yuuji's hand by accident, because it was so automatic and subconscious. fingers would be one of the last thing to heal, based on RCT travels from the brain. Or maybe Sukuna's automated his RCT to go where it needs to, like Gojo did with his CT.

Heian era Sukuna constantly running RCT just to live w his disability, and the way it was still a sensory hell no matter what he did bc the bones in his ear were itchy. I imagine he'd try to take them out, just to grow back again.

Naobito Zenin's CT is basically forcing a freeze response on his target. The first time we see this, Dagon throws up and loses his clothes, crawls and cries for Hanami. Dagon then transforms into a beast full of rage.

Naoya also has this CT - and really this makes sense considering how they treat women.

Naobito forcing his wife to have kids until one finally inherits it. (I think it's rly rare for immediate family to have more than one sorcerer, there seems to be a sort of balance - Gojo and Fushiguro, and Geto, with the strongest CT didn't have parents who could teach them. I kind of hc that Nobara's and Nanako and Mimiko's parents used a pact, to protect them or to get herself out of jujutsu obligations). The family tree doesn't even list a number of kids between Naobito and his wife - it just says "many".

I'm not even sure if women is the right word here, actually, considering how awful Naoya was to his underage cousins.

If anyone has a more profound thing to say on this pls show me lmfao but I was thinking last night like

Geto and Mahito's techniques are oddly similar

The way they store their cursed spirits / transfigured humans, which lose their own motives - doing whatever they're told to, until eventually dying / being exorcised

Geto and Mahito are both capable of fighting on their own, but they keep collecting anyway.

Maybe Mahito took inspiration from "Geto", but I really don't know whether the disaster curses were aware of his technique. I think they allied w kenjaku bc of his strength, and the way he acted like a comrade to curses who kept preaching about their own true humanity.

Taking orders from anyone with the curse manipulation technique doesn't sound like anything they would do. But with Jogo's desire to reverse the roles of curses and humans, it just... Makes sense for him to suggest that Mahito treat humans the way Geto's CT does to curses.

When Yuuji gets up from crying on the train station floor (e44, right and wrong part 3)

He pictures Nanami saying "you take it from here", but it's Nanami as Yuuji remembers him - no burns, no torn clothes, his glasses are on.

This is so interesting after seeing Yuuji's domain.

Sukuna appearing in it as Yujikuna.

I still think Yuuji's first time w his domain was messy, lack of experience + muscle memory of Sukuna's barrierless domain, it rly makes sense of the scars disappearing at times.

Plus at that point, Tengen's remains were in the slime or at least or of place.

Things rly came back to reality after that got sorted.

Watching JJK again and

1) Idk if I said this here but ik I have said like, :( in the manga Sukuna's finger (the first one we see) has 2 faces on it, but it doesn't in the anime :///

... so that was a lie apparently I just couldn't see it before? It's harder to notice, it blends in and is constantly moving but it IS definitely there smh

2) Sukuna and Gojo's first encounter. Ughhhhh

Someone said that it seemed like Gojo saw Sukuna's true form when he was looking at Yuuji "it did combine" - and then Gojo immediately asks for Sukuna to come out 😭 saying "don't worry, I'm like you the strongest".

Before I thought Gojo was just trying to comfort Yuuji (ngl on my first watch I did NOT believe Gojo and did not expect him to survive anything lmfaooooo at least not until the shibuya incident maybe) BUT now it rly seems like Gojo was talking mostly for Sukuna's sake.

Gojo rambling about kikufuku, trying to impress the foodie? Idk manfhajjxmsm but they're so funny (could you imagine sukugo dates though. Like. They would eat So Much, all the high school art w Geto and Nanami giving Gojo disgusted looks when he's eating.... Sukuna would never).

Sukuna first staring down Fushiguro (who was going to execute them 2 minutes ago)...

Gojo and Sukuna were immediately obsessed with each other (I sometimes wonder if Gojo were ever assigned to destroy the fingers, and never attempted to hollow purple them bc he just didn't have the heart to lmfao. Also that hc where Gojo had a poster of Sukuna on his wall and had to draw it himself, that has my whole heart I fear).

3) WASUKE'S FRAMED PHOTO was out when Sukuna (kind of, for a second) appeared after Yuuji ate the second (or third, if that counts) finger. Sukuna in the room with his twin's ashes.

Losing it watching jjk for the first time since the manga ended bc

I could have added more evidence to my (not confirmed lmao) prediction on Yuuji's domain.

Like, ok so the rabbits. The snow. Mahito crushes the rabbit, he's failing to escape, it's snowing, (I expected a cryogenic domain to resurrect Gojo etc)

But what I didn't remember was this??

This white wolf appears - which is like the first of Fushiguro's shikigami to die. Which makes it more like a necromancy thing I swearrrer (tho it has the same gash on its face as Yuuji so idk)

Also Mahito's ankle is twisted around so much it kinda resembles the way he's treated humans.

Sometimes I think about how Gege compared Geto's last impulse of protecting Gojo to a dragonfly and how Gojo was wearing a yukata with dragonflies.

thinking about how to Gojo, love is “the most twisted curse of them all”, and that’s what he wields to battle Sukuna, leaving him with a broken heart and so much openings that guarantee his kids’ chance at winning in the end.

because “curses can only be exorcised by another curse”.

after Gojo died, there are 5 or 6 instances where they use something along the line of “Sukuna couldn’t do this & that because of his battle with Gojo”, hell even Sukuna himself admitted that.

And the thing is i think Sukuna didn’t realize that. He thought Gojo was greedy for also going on about the love and solitude route, he didn’t realize Gojo viewed Love differently from Yozoru and Kashimo. to Gojo LOVE IS A CURSE.

Sukuna didn’t realize Gojo was putting a curse on him.

You know, it used to haunt me for years what kind of curse Gojo would become in a cursed AU… but i think i know now.

It’s Love. It’s Love all this time. The abandoned Love that withered and fell in a garden of deep purple, as fleeting as the seasons.

😐😐😐😐😐 you can write this off as overthinking but I'm going to say it anyway bc akcjaifnakxkamdlsmcn (based on solid black being a color of purity during the Heian era)

thinking about Sukuna wearing the solid black kimono in every Heian flashback, but dressed in white since then... except for the shirt underneath.

I made posts before about Sukuna's nails - how they were always black, until megkuna, and that I think Sukuna felt so corrupted for continuing the cycle of abuse by possessing Fushiguro without his permission.

and about Gojo's influence on his students' uniforms - but all that's relevant here is how Yuuta wore a white jacket to match Rika (a curse who's outside of him), and Yuuji with a red hood and shirt underneath (and shoes) to represent Sukuna - who's contained within Yuuji, and as far as they knew, could not be separated.

sukuna and gojo were always obsessed w each other so I kind of expect Sukuna to follow this... wearing a black shirt to represent Fushiguro, underneath the white outfit.

Anyway since we're here I'll go on about the innate domain outfit too.

maybe Sukuna doesn't want to show Yuuji his true form, or maybe Yuuji has influence on how Sukuna appears (basing this logic on Yuuji's domain). we don't ever see sukuna wear that irl, not even in Heian flashbacks (but I think he might have worn it earlier, when it would have fit.) either way, I'm 99% sure that Sukuna was Ainu. recently a friend suggested I watch Golden Kamuy, which has a lot of Ainu characters and that outfit is the most common one. mostly white, with the blue, it's the same thing. (at this point I'm making a list of weirdly similar things between that and jjk, it's so funny tbh)

Anyway! it's Sukuna's innate domain, and that's still an inherent part of his identity, despite all the "I'm not a human I'm a curse" narrative. sometimes I imagine sukuna like gaara, both unwanted (so they've been told) children giving themselves tattoos (the Ainu method involves burning and slicing).
