just my two cents on this because this actually left a pretty sour taste in my mouth

i find the comments yj made about 4th gen & girl groups very odd, especially coming from a man whose group has sold over 9 million albums, making them the 6th group ever to reach that milestone? the same man who has more ig followers by himself than his group’s own account? “we are desperate for attention”? not to invalidate his experience, but ggs have it so, so much harder because the general public is usually all they have to rely on because most ggs don’t have these super dedicated fanbases bgs have that will pre-order anything as long as it helps break a record. and don’t even get me started on the standards women are being held to???

it just feels so odd to me? also, if he wanted the attention of the gp so badly, couldn’t he just…do more stuff on the side? txt don’t have that many comebacks that they’re constantly packed, so why doesn’t he pick up a small acting role? appear in more variety shows as yeonjun, not as txt? seungkwan did the same for years to help seventeen gain popularity and has become known for his variety skills regardless of him being in seventeen as well. he’s from hybe, he has all the connections he needs if he’s genuinely interested in getting some of that gp attention.

this is not to say he can’t wish for his group to chart well. that’s pretty normal, most groups want that. but the way he said it, the focus on girlgroups, saying he’s desperate for attention and that “bgs make good songs too” while his group can put out another pre-order tomorrow and get a million sales while most ggs are completely dependent on the gp that pretty much only stream is just…so off putting.

it just comes across as entitled and maybe it’s a tell that men in the industry as well as korea in general are so used to getting preferable treatment compared to women — because i doubt he would be complaining if the top charts were fellow bgs, even if it wasn’t txt themselves. whatever the case, i find his comment super fucking weird. sorry.

hey i’m not sure if ur aware but someone on tiktok is copying ur gyu boyfriend texts; well the only difference is that it’s with different idols. (a lil side by side comparison of urs and theirs.)

the persons tiktok is @bylhs . i’m pretty they’re copying other people as all the other messages i’ve read on the account are very similar to ones i’ve seen on tumblr, i’ve jst haven’t found who exactly they’re copying yet.
