So it has been a while, but I graduated! Huzza!

After the release of summer dream into the urban wilderness we have a new bike on the block, a parrot themed mixtie. The plan was to take the good components of a newer bike and put them on an older bike, with a couple of fabricated parts to bridge the gaps... TOO EASY RIGHT?!?

Yeah so two years, and whole lot of “ohhh that’s why it doesn't fit together” moments, we are at the point where we have functioning bike and a plan for a paint job!

SHOGUN BUDGET CUSTOM aka Summer Dream.

Made entirely from second hand parts (sans tyres), The summer dream is finished just in time for winter… My friend Olivia is cutting about in the photos, what a beb.

Some high (and low) lights include.

- melting out the seized aluminum stem with drano.

- rebuilding the rear wheel with spokes I bill shortened on a bench grinder

- finding the right combination of front and rear chain ring sizes so that I did not need a chain tensioner. (the dropout was non adjustable)

- rebuilding the coaster brake 3 times because I forgot how it went together.
