This day we had a class discussion without our teacher, it is fine and interactive. One of the Topic is the leader and follower. In the past years I loved to be the leader even though it is energy consuming but then I had realized that it is better for me to become a member, I think that I can do more when I'm a member, it has less stress at the same time it is more easy. Most of all I don't want to be a leader anymore because I'm not good about leadership. The important thing about it is that I'm improving my self continuously to have a contribution even I'm a leader or a member.

The word "love" seems to be overrated, it is being used anywhere at anytime without ages. It is often used as a replacement to some feelings or affection or maybe a simple appreciation. While the action of love or loving becomes underrated, the one who really give love becomes unfelt and often being wasted. Loving someone is a common thing as a human with feelings but it is risky. The only thing that matter is that if you love someone do not wish for exchange cause love is love there is no interest in it.

"Focusing on Psychological health"

This day we had our last discussion and this is also my last journal and tomorrow we will have our exam. Today we had a great time in the meeting. It is not just pure discussion but also sharing of our experiences because one of our topic is bullying I guess everyone experienced being bullied, me my self even in my SH years I'm still being bullied and it's still the same pain as before, it drives me to lose confidence and just stay in my comfort zone to scape being judge and create another mistake that they will make fun of. We also discussed about mental health and I'm interested in it since the some of the sign are observable in me and what's nice about it is that there are tips for us to stay mentally healthy that I can use in my life journey.

"Developing Efficient Learning"

For the 6th day of our PerDev journey it is Saturday that is why we only had a synchronous activity which we are given a task and that is to study lesson 6. It is all about the brain which it is considered as the most powerful organ of the body. The lesson also tackles the different parts and it's function inside the brain and lastly the superiority of the parts of the brain that affects the ability and skills of a person. Somehow the skills that defines the right brain cannot be seen from me, according to the study the brain controls in a opposite process, right brain controls the left side of the body and I'm a left handed person but I'm not creative etc. but rather the characteristics of the left brain are more dominant in me.

"I feel stressed"

This day we just had our short discussion about "encountering stress as a part of adolescence". I've learned that there are two types of stress namely the positive and negative stress. As the current journey of my life are still in adolescence period it's true that stress seems to be common already, sometimes I'm confused about being stress or just having a bad feeling or mood. Having some plans that are slowly happening will open up another things that need to be deal with that will still give stress but thankfully it's a positive one, while sometimes there are situations that I don't know whether I would continue or just stop creates a negative stress. These kind of stress causes some effects that is clearly visible and observable in me from being forgetful and having no focus. Of course the discussion ends with techniques to cope of with these stresses so hopefully I could follow those techniques to stay protected from stress.

"Not yet ready"

For the 4th day of our journey in PerDev we had our first (long) quiz. It is a bit hard knowing that I'm too slow at analyzing sentences but I've finished it on time. After that around 3 pm we had our class and I still need to keep some energy because I need to attend a worship service at 6 pm. As the discussion began I'm not in my full power to participate but I've lessen carefully to every thing that our teacher talked about.

Then here comes adolescence stage, it becomes a common word already since I already encountered that words several times already until it goes down to the challenges, everything that our teacher utters seem to be related to my current situation, being undecided, pressured, stressed, and scared of bigger responsibilities which I can't resist to have. We also tackle about the dangers inside adolescence stage and one thing that I've realized is that my life may actually change just because of a mistake or being irresponsible in my adolescent life.

"Stay Awake Jievee"

A rough day has about to pass, we deal about two lessons catering three power point presentations if I'm not mistaken. Since our class starts at 1 in the afternoon and it ends a bit longer my eyes will surely close a little bit but our teacher does not let my eyes close even for a second. The discussion was lively and I'm interested in every point of the topic.

For today's discussion I've learned new things like I'm already at the "late adolescence" stage, where it says there that normally men will still grow continuously like bruhh I can't see it in my body. Anyways, I've learned also that development has 3 types, there is physical, cognitive, and socioemotional together with these three the moment of bigger responsibilities will also arise. I've realized that I'm not a kid anymore that will just depend on my parents, later in time I will face the real life and I need to do better, and be better, I still need to improve a lot everyday to be able to finish every battle that I would take in the future.

"Butterflies in my stomach"

As expected our activity today is sharing in class about our selves using a drawing, painting, or a collage with explanation which definitely not my type but I do not have any choices about it. So while taking a bath I tried to practice my speaking skills and after that I just tried to relax my self until the it's already 1pm and that means it's time already to enter the meeting. So the activity starts immediately and the teacher starts to call the names one by one and my nervousness starts to build up already, until the time has come for me to speak up because the teacher calls me already, I've started reading my short explanation until I've notice someone probably listening and it's my kuya, I'm distracted and lost my focus so I need to stop, after that I continued immediately and thankfully I'm already done.

While listening to my classmates I've realized that for almost 2 years of battling our studies together there is still things that are hidden from them and thanks to this activity it opens. There are things that seems to be opposite to what I've personally observed or just it is contrast to what they are showing to us. Most importantly while just listening I've learn things from them, it is not only sharing of traits, habits, or behaviors but sharing of ideas that will be converted to learnings. Imagine by just listening we learn how much more if we find more time to bond together? That is why every single person that will cross in our life, may cause negatively or positive ones but surely he/she brings a lesson we can use to be a better version of our selves.

“Getting to know one's self”

Building one's self is just finding the right pieces in a mountain of different traits or feature . Through different situations and self realizations that we experience , we then conclude that it is not the right piece of a certain part of ourselves and we should replace it by the right one. It happens continuously as part of growing up. One thing is that sometimes it is hard to accept that we had this kind of negativity specially when it comes to other people, sometimes we did not notice that we became bias to our own selves just to filter the hurtful truth of having a toxic trait. For me self awareness should be attached with action, being aware and taking a positive action would help to improve one's self.

Ready Player One

A movie that helps us to peek in to the possible future. A story that is inspired with the interest of games and technology. In our time the digital era,  virtual world is already built, games with realistic features are already produce and enjoyed by some people. The movie hits the timely situation of the world. People spend too much time on things that supposed to be a pass time, and people tend to act like it is real and important, and most of all sometimes people forgets the real  world because of too much attachment driven by more attention that is gain more than in his/her real life.

Inside the movie, the world was completely changed, the ride to innovation seems to be ugly as it molds the environment together with the society to a backward motion, it does not look to be better, but cruel. The people in the movie always want to scape from the reality that is why they find most of their time in the virtual reality game called the OASIS, of course with the benefit of the game that whoever wins the game will change his/her life, gaining power, popularity, and maybe satisfaction with the enormous prize. Wade Watts who has the codename "Parzival" is the main character of the movie. He has the characteristics of a game winner. Yet, it does not mean that he could win the game alone with a lot of competitions, he need friends or can also be described as family. Together, with a good team work, Parzival reach the victory.

At the final scene, Wade faced a challenge that does not need special skills nor tools but a soul and mind that can carry the responsibility of power that can eventually changed the world to reverse the process from decomposition to a productive world with peace and diversity in it. It is a call for us not to step back but moving forward with the responsibility of the innovation for greater good of all and not just for some people.

"Build not digital divide but digital fusion"

Build not digital divide but digital fusion.

When I entered Liceo de Cagayan University, one of the things that cross my mind is the worries of being left behind. I had a phone but it is half dead, at home we have a laptop but we do not have internet access, I can go to internet cafes but I'm too slow in using computers. As days goes by I'm glad that it does not turn into what I expected, at the middle of the school year my mom brought me a new phone, that time I felt being much more comfortable of the fast system of the school but one thing, I still cannot afford a load for surfing. Because of these stuffs I need to adjust to survive in my studies, everytime I will ask for help on how to do this, can you do this for me, everything I did just to pass all the requirements. That is my situation, it is hard, but how much more for those students who does not have any gadgets at all? Then you can see the clear form of digital division, division between those students who needs to save their allowance even though it is even not enough for the whole day at school just to visit internet cafes and those students who can just access the internet at their homes.

Because of the inovation a new set of skills was been added to the humanity. These skills makes people have the advantage by having a more interesting ideas and more productive outcomes because it makes work easier. But if there is a new skill then there is also a loss of skills , those people who are digital native becomes a foreign to the traditional way of dealing with everyday situations, from social interactions to their studies. That is also a form of digital divide. People like me who has the gadgets but does not know to use it properly is also a form of digital divide. This just means that every one can cause and suffer digital division. It is not too late, we can build a bridge to these gaps, instead of staying to what we used too, we should be flexible, we need to accept the change and we need to learn the old one. Instead of having a circle with the same stuffs, make your circle bigger, reaching those people who does not have the things you have and same as you them, by this you already build bridges. Digital divide won't stop because of these movements but will be lessen, creating not digital division but digital fusion.

"The Setbacks of Piracy"

In the hierarchy of needs pleasure is on the list. From the ancient times up to now, people does not forget about having fun. Because of the advance technology and different circumstances people tend to find entertainment in their respective homes, enjoying their favorite movies, music, tv shows, and many other more. Do you ever ask your self, how does these things works? Does these entertainments are for free? Well there are just two things to remember. First, it works because of advertisements, companies who give ads pays for it . Second, it works because you pay for it. So basically it is not for free, those people like artists, singers, production companies, and so on was being paid through the money from the ads or from you. Now what if there is no ads and you do not have any money? Then piracy comes in. According to Merriam Dictionary piracy is the unauthorized use of another's production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright,since it is unauthorized then it is illegal and protected by the law, that means if you caught being a pirate of these stuffs then you can have penalties or sanctions.

Here in the Philippines piracy of everything seems to be normal. When you go to divisoria then you can see a lot of stores selling for pirated tapes. When you try to check the laptops and computers of someone it is more likely to be a pirated software. It is done in public, in the school, in your friends house, the piracy of things is basically everywhere and if you have done this before or until now because you still do not know it, or you just want to save money, then you are a pirate, not like captain Jack Sparrow to be proud off but pirate to be shamed off. The question is, how can these things happened and still happening? The answer is just because of us as the consumers and the government. There are lots of laws about this but the government does not have any teeth, no one will be scared to make these things. It is also because of us, we tend to enjoy free stuffs, or stuffs in a cheap price without considering its source, and the people who suffers because of it . What we should gonna do now? We need to stand firm and help the government. How? By not subscribing them, by not buying stuffs that is a product of illegal works, by reporting this kind of incidents to the authorities. We need to help each other, we need to help the government, and the government should help those artists who works so hard yet their moneys was being hijacked. Let us be media and information literate individuals, stop piracy, promote the right use of media.

When print media has begun, the world look up to it. It gives news, entertainment, and some people find the containment in just reading their favorite novels and books. When broadcast media has begun, the world look up to it. This media becomes one of the most powerful institution in the world. Now new media begins to do the same thing, actually the world is looking up to the new media right now. New media for faster news, more entertainment, finding of jobs, socialization, communication, new media for almost everything even looking for foods here is new media to serve you for your needs and wants.

How about 5 years from now will the new media continues to rise, and is it the time for downfall of the old fashion medias? I remember one scene in our house, when my mom and her friends talks about their good old days when they need to do everything they can just to listen to their favorite radio programs like "lama sa kagahapon". They said even now they still love to listen to life stories from the radio. I remember a friend who loves to read thick expensive novels even though there is a much cheaper e-books just because she is more comfortable in turning pages than scrolling to read the next chapter. These memories makes me realized that even in the future when the new media will dominate the world, it will still just like the broadcast media to the print media. It may gain the interest of the majority but that the interest of everyone. People will still find their old ways, they will find the things that make them comfortable. 5 years from now new media will find its throne with the other medias serving the world for greater prosperity.

"Media and Government: a love-hate relationship"

Media and Government are the most powerful institutions in the society. Media serves as our eyes and ears to what is happening in the world. While government serves as our leader, producing different laws to promote peace and order, and provide general welfare to the country. The two institutions has the power to influence the minds of the people, changing their perspectives and sometimes people even fight to support and protect them. There is a lot of reasons why the beautiful relationship of media and government distains, it may start when the media sees something wrong with the government and the government oppose it or when the government does the right thing but the media sees it to be wrong. Because of these situations the relationship of these two great influencers starts to fade. This kind of conflicts not only roles around the two institutions but worst it divides the people in the society making our own country weaker.

The picture illustrates the love and hate relationship of media and government. At the center there is the President (Duterte)  representing the government, at the left side is the mountain if problems that the country are facing, and at the right side is a hole where the problems are being exterminated. The picture also shows problems along side with the government (president). In this case the government has a shovel but in a neutral position. It just means that it is either the problems comes from the mountain of problems and the government wants to reduce it by moving it to hole of extermination or the government only adds up the problems of the country. At the bottom side there is media, one has reported that the government does something right, while the other one clearly sees the movement of the government are wrong. The  illustration just tells us that the media and government may join together or become enemies of each other. But the clear thing is that whoever wins the game the people will always be the loser.
