Myeongdong 🚌 Yongsan + JSH
( @jmxseunghoon )
It wasn’t easy. Traveling across the world in a second, tracking down the perfect gifts, then negotiating a fair price with the stingy vendors were all relatively easy feats. They all took practice but they allowed room for trial and error. Dealing with Seunghoon wasn’t easy though. Cultivating this friendship is like guiding your steps over shards of glass. Every step she had taken seemed like a wrong one.
Everything always went smoothly during the start of the conversations. Warm greetings and inquiries about each other’s well being since the last encounter were the best moments. The warmth was never enough to burn down the barrier between them though. She felt more distanced while being right in front of him than when they were apart. It just wasn’t easy.
But it was bearable. She came back to his apartment with a present she picked up because despite it all, she appreciated the friendship, and invested in it. He already buzzed her in, and luckily he lived on the first floor so climbing up one flight was nothing. The real challenge would start once he opened the door, and they have to ignore the elephant in the room once again.
It wasn’t going to be easy.

Ah... This face is really too handsome even as a candid shot for a contact photo. Her thumb swipes across the screen and the face disappears. “Little and old?” She cackles at the irony in the middle of the sidewalk. The loud laughter earns the attention of passerbys who turn their head to stare at her. A throat clearing usually indicates a shift back to normalcy but she’s not sure how convincing hers is. At least the people who noticed her are all strangers. The reality that she won’t see any of them again consoles her.
“Our Jaesoo is so funny and cute. You’ve come home and remembered your boring noona, who’s actually old.” It’s a sad fact, but a fact nonetheless. When they first met, she could barely work out a simple language spell. For her, finding another person who spoke the same mother tongue was an overwhelming experience. Despite the age difference, she clung to him in that foreign place. His height in particular fooled her into calling him her senior at first. So many years have passed sinc then. All of which treated Jaesoo rather well, while she wears its effects in her wrinkles and eye bags.
“I don’t have a gig this whole week. Although I have made plans to get coffee and catch up with a big model friend of mine. I don’t know if you’ve heard of him but he’s sort of a big deal.”
–– && : between sips of coffee.
@jmxara
seoul. it’s been long since he has stepped foot back onto korean soil, and he knows he utterly misses the loud hustle bustle of a city alive with excitement. he’s traveled to so many different cities and places, but nothing quite compares to the city he calls home. the first person he calls is his closest friend, ara-noona. he hates most people, but he can make an exception for her. although the other has seven years of seniority over him, daniel never quite feels as if there’s an age gap. definitely with her looks, ara can pass off for a 23 year old, and no one would doubt her. ara is charmingly beautiful with a wicked tongue to match, but he enjoys their venting sessions, moments where they simply complain about the abhorrent people they’ve encountered.
his fingers are already dialing the memorized number even before his entire thought process has finished. the line rings, if only for a few seconds, before a familiarly pleasant voice answers on the other end.
“noona!” he says, smile curving on his lips as he surveys his surroundings, “i’m back in seoul, and this time for a while. how about we get some coffee and catch up?”
“that is, if you aren’t too busy for little old jaesoo?” he hums, awaiting with bright eyes for her answer.

jmxhyosung :
The night was winding down, bringing quiet along with the setting sun ─ not that the restaurant had been bustling or anything for a while now. There are some days that see more action than others, but at the end of the day, her restaurant is still a small and humble one; sometimes she wishes that it’d be active enough to always have her on her feet and moving around, fluttering from place to place like a hummingbird, but that’s a dream best saved as a goal meant for the future.
It’s not quite time for things to close for the evening but Hyosung doubts there’ll be anyone wandering in a few minutes until then; she’s taken to cleaning up, tidying everything out of place as part of her closing routine, singing along with some of the popular songs playing softly from the digital radio. This is how most of her weekday work hours come to the end, completely and utterly normal.
Except for the sudden noise of something in her closet.
Though startling, she manages to hold back from screeching and wielding the broom as a makeshift weapon and keeps thoughts of potential rats (or worse ─ that squawking is hardly a comfort) in her establishment at bay long enough for the closet to open, bringing both amusement and relief to the laugh she gives at the sight that greets her.
“You missed it by a few rooms. It’s that way, and on the left,” she responds, lighthearted and nodding her head in the proper direction ─ pointlessly, that is. She knows well enough that Ara knows where the bathroom is, but how could she not jest at the sudden appearance of this travelling friend of hers? “Where were you this time? Italy? Hawaii?” Genuine curiousity and interest colors the tone of her words, and her smile reaches her eyes when she speaks them. A glance is taken towards the clock on the wall.
It’s five minutes until closing.
“Oh, I see now,” Ara continues the jest for just a nod or two longer. She can’t thank Hyosung enough for not minding the random pop in’s like this. Of course, Ara does come bearing gifts every time. With several years of friendship in between them, this sort of thing became pretty customary. An audible gulp drops down the canal of her throat when she glances at the clock.
It’s five minutes until closing.
--Well, four minutes as she notes the time remaining. But even that is normal whenever she comes back from trips.
“Ehe,” she chuckles and ruffles her hair. “Toronto. A little less conventional, but I had fun. The twins were literally a handful. --Oh, let me let Prince out first.” The owl was pecking strand after strand of her hair to get her attention. As if her hair isn’t a nest of a mess already.
Since isn’t the first time around the place, she navigates to the nearest window with ease. The little brat squeezes itself through the small opening without warning. “Yah. You little rat. You couldn’t wait?” She hisses after the fluttering flaps of the owl.
Now that her hands are freed up, she can fish around her bag for Hyosung’s presents with more ease. “I-I-I. H-a-a-ave. A-a-a...” The deeper she digs in her bag, the more elongated her words become until they turn into just sounds. “Ah! Found the first thing. It’s supposed to help your skin appear like it’s glowing.” The bracelet dangled from her hand. Jewelry seems like such a nuisance to deal with but since Hyosung likes them, Ara wanted to make her happy.

jmxjinwoo:
Jinwoo nervously rubbed the back of his neck before watching her dump the contents of her pouch into her hand. He really didn’t intend to have Nigel to slightly peek out of his enchanted suitcase, but creatures like him were so mischievous. The young wizard apologizes again, “I’m sorry, ma’am. I can assure you that if it was jewels and coins, that’s what his species are more drawn to.”
He takes out his wand from his coat pocket. Placing the suitcase on the floor, preparing just in case Nigel was intending to escape. Using the wand, he mumbles a chant before opening the case. The case opens with a click and Jinwoo quickly reaches in, gentle holding the creature by the scuff before tickling it’s belly. Nigel squeaks, spilling out some coins that weren’t there from the night before.
“Luckily, it was just a few coins ma’am.” He sighs in relief before gently putting Nigel into the case. Shutting it securely with the flick of his hand. Not even forgetting to pick up the coins for the woman before him. “Really sorry about that..” He swallows knowing that she’s glowering at him as he stuck his hand out to return her coins. “How about I make it up to you?”
A few coins are nothing to cause a fuss over, although it must be noted that her mood has already soured well before this. Being pickpocketed from a Nigel was a cherry on top and she happens to be very allergic to them. What transpired wasn’t so pleasant, but seeing the little Niffer in person softened her edges. Sweet, little baby... She crooks her head and resists cooing at the little thief, but she waves at it anyway before he went back into his case.
“Hmm,” she hums as she deposits her money back into her pouch. Instead of placing it in her pocket again, she opens up her purse. Mindlessly, she drops in a sector she knows doesn’t have anything fragile in it. Hypothetically speaking, if he has any creature that can get into her purse, she’ll completely snap. No amount of repayment will mend that hole in that situation.
Just in case though... She closes the clasps with extra care.
“What do you have to offer?” Haggling is infused into her genes by now. Demanding too much or too little are never ideal when you’re trying to maximize your gain.

Ara only expected to get robbed once today, and that was going to be by the DMTr. She learned the hard way that the “r” needed to be there after waiting so long in line at the DMT (Department of Magic Technology). Having to re-register her mirror for traveling purposes proved to be a pain each and every time. She didn’t expect to be pick pocketed while being on the elevator.
“Aish...” She hissed under her breath as she dumped the inner content of her pouch into her hand to count. Although she didn’t remember how much was there she started off with, she counted the paper bills and loose change anyway. The whole day had been one tedious task after another. Just when she thought she was home free, she ran into this predicament.
She crumbled everything and stuffed it back in where it belonged. Her hand laid flat in the air, and was pointed in his direction. “It’s admirable that you didn’t train him to be a thief, but if he took any of my money I need it back.”

@jmxara
The young intern stood in the Congress elevator, standing patiently as the elevator lowered down. Surely enough, Jinwoo knew that he was going to be quite late. But he called in, telling his department boss that his car broke down a week ago and is in repair. So taking the subway was a bit of a commute. A group of people exited and he was left to himself. The suitcase containing a Niffler shook in his grasp and Jinwoo lets out a sigh before someone on the next floor entered the elevator.
Jinwoo stood awkwardly, eyes forward before he felt the suitcase swing forward. Eyes furrowing, glancing around before looking down to find the Niffler he was beast-sitting for overnight was trying to pickpocket the poor woman in front of him. “N-Nigel!” He hisses in a whisper. Swinging the suitcase back, tucking the magpie like creature away into the case. Swallowing nervously before tapping the woman’s shoulder. “Excuse me…ma’am..Umm..I-I have to apologize because…I have a l-little creature in my s-suitcase and he was trying to p-pickpocket you. I’m not sure how much he took but I can assure that I didn’t train him to take any of your money.”

Toronto ✈ Myeongdong + JHS
[ @jmxhyosung ]
“I swear to god…” It was just the other day that she organized everything in her bag. Organized was a subjective word when it came to Ara though. To her, putting things she needed together, and separating them from the things she didn’t readily need, was considered organized enough. And yet, as she swept her hand around one bag compartment to the next, she couldn’t find the one thing she used on a daily basis. Good thing no one was around to see her, shoulder deep into her bag, rummaging around for her means of getting home. Usually finding a secluded area would be the most challenging part in the process of getting back, but there was another challenge all together today.
The sun trickled down on her through the cracks of foliage covering her. This little woodsy area on the side of the road gave her the creeps for whatever reason so she tried to work fast. Her fingertips brushed against the slick surface of her mirror and she snatched it out as fast as she could. The other hand scribbled the name of Hyosung’s restaurant on the reflective surface. Her thighs clamped onto her bag tightly and a piercing whistle shot through the air from a tiny metal embouchure that hung from her neck. A few minutes later, sounds of wings flapping built up in a crescendo as Wangja came closer, and eventually rested on her arm.
Finally, it was time to depart.
She always closed her eyes during this next part. If it wasn’t for the combination of Wangja’s squawks and the sharp smell of bleach from the restaurant’s janitorial closet, she wouldn’t know when to open her eyes again. She would like to think Wangja spoke up to be helpful, but in actuality, he just hated the dark. For the second time that day, her hands felt around in the dark for something again. When she found the doorknob she pushed through and caught sight of an old friend standing on the other side.
“Point the way to the restroom?” She joked halfheartedly at Hyosung.

welcome to my dark twisted mind and outdated memes. fun fact: i made this post ahead of time in the case that I’m still at work when the rp opens. why i felt the need to share this is beyond me but let’s talk about something you’ll actually be interested in.
if you need to hit me up, your best chances are to use:
the tumblr chat
discord (i only ask that you request the username bc i don’t wanna post it publicly here)
i do have a twitter but i hate extensively plotting thru it. 140 characters cannot contain my blabbering and my dm notifs are like the US president’s sense of decency (i.e. nonexistent)
links of interest:
PROFILE
PERSONALITY/BIO
PLOTTING PAGE
trivia facts bc those are always fun:
can probably out drink you. will try to bet with you in order to get you to pay for her meal.
has pretty shitty handwriting most of the time, unless someone request a paper charm that looks “””prettier”””
her owl somehow found her when she was hiking and she helped heal his wing. they’ve been inseparable since.
rarely brushes her hair. despite her bangs never being in her eyes, she has a habit of blowing them out of her face anyway.
is really close to her parents. she and her dad jokes around a lot and he manages most of her nanny business.
her dad was born a squib but truly believes his magic will kick in one day
i lowkey imagine him to be Haha from RM just for kicks. he just looks young because Magic
is more involved with the magic community who was taught domestic magic vs. magic from institutions (aka that bougie shit)
bio tl;dr version:
when her magic manifested, her biological parents already set up their minds that they didn’t want to raise a child with magic. they felt like they didn’t have proper resources to hone her skills, nor did they want their son who didn’t have magic to feel inferior or neglected. so her bio. mom’s sister decided to adopt the little five year old.
she’s traveled a hella lot, because of her mom’s job. one of the worst experiences was living in gangnam for a few months because the wizards there were shits. she thought she’d fit in with others who have magic but she was Wrong.
(not mentioned in bio) her nanny business started as her doing a favor for a family friend who’s moved far away. then by word of mouth, her name drifted around and she followed wherever the trail led her.
years later, she’s still doing the same thing except she’s more independent now. she rents a room from hyungsik. she still barely knows how to work her SMART-MYST.
yeah. she’s a gem
