이야앗 따따블펀치다 이놈아~!

So, like many other Megaton instances, the joke here relies on understanding Korean informal language. In this case, Konglish. Konglish, as you may know, is English words that have changed meaning and/or form by Koreans adapting them into our language. "따따블"(pronounced dda-dda-ble) is one such instance.
The word originates from the English word 'double', which was exaggeratedly pronounced 'DDA-ble' by the more accented Korean populace. Soon enough, people began repeating the "따(dda)" part, to imply 'double the double'. And so, the word "ddadda-ble" was created.
The original text was "ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!" / 「The god of destruction and storms, the Stand Sethan. Alessi, aged 38 and single, flys off into the distance and retires.」 The Megaton Man text translates to: "Hiyaaa it's a ddadda-ble punch you punk!" / 「the evil spirit was hit with the ddadda-ble punch and flew far far away」
In addition, Alessi's name in this scene had been changed to '아카악령'. '악령' means 'evil spirit'- a name that Megaton Man often used to refer to Stands. Sometimes, Stand USERS, too, were referred to as Evil Spirits. '아카' is. Uh. Probably a typo of '아가', which means 'baby'. Unless, of course, it's because the Japanese word for 'baby' is pronounced like '아카'('aka'). (As you will see soon enough, trying to follow Megaton Man translation logic requires some serious mental gymnastics.) Meanwhile, Sethan itself was renamed to '그림자악령'- Shadow Evil Spirit.
(The person who suggested I introduce this meme added this gif to their comment, so I thought I'd honor their recommendation by including it here.)

Okay, so I got 8 Megaton Man meme recommendations from the Korean fandom, and I got 2 of my own. I'll introduce them all eventually, but I think I'll have people choose which one to see first.
Don't translate the lines(not that I think translators help much anyway). You must choose based on VIBES.
Somehow DIU memes haven't been recommended. I'll do them sometime too, but the current contenders are all from Parts 1, 2, 3 and 5.
ALSO, should I make a separate blog completely dedicated to Megaton Man? It'd definitely make sorting easier. Hm.

Hey op you can’t just leave this in the tags. This is genuinely fascinating I love translations / localizations like Duwang so it’s interesting to hear another cultures version of it. Also the fact kakyoin’s name was translated to cherry is so funny. It’s also interesting to see who different fandoms can be depending on where in the world you are. A joke popular in one place could not exist in another and that fascinates me.

love how foo fighters from jojo is objectively the dead body of a young woman who had her body and mind parasitized by a collection of sentient plankton. but then she's like "yo this girl whose body i've stolen was into kidnapping children and she was already dead anyway so it's not like she was using it" and the result is a cute and cool weird girl so nobody cares
came back wrong but it's fine actually cause we like her. good for her
