Me, Myself, and I
Hi everyone My name is Jodette Simon 18 years old 3rd year AB Journalism student. I’m just a typical girl, I enjoy meeting new people and finding ways to deal with their perspectives in any aspect of living and to learn from them that might help me to change my beliefs and vision in life. I want to work on my own title, not something that was just passed down to me.

"Life and Killer of the World"
The world is moving rapidly towards worldwide connectivity that will further change how and where people associate, gather and share information, and consume media. There are existing positive and negative trends such as revolutionizing most human interaction, affecting the health, education, politics, works, economics and entertainment.
The emergence of completely new informations have the overpowering impact in human civilization. In the statement from the video according to Tim Berrers-Lee the inventor of the World Wide Web “openness is easy but closeness is difficult” perhaps he means that the communication open truthfully as we can to others, a link that is difficult to explain those unable to understand the silent communication that takes place between two people that actually communicate.
Twitter was developed year 2006 in San Francisco and as the widening web service for the people is one of the most trend medium. Year 2009 in Iran when mouth after mouth presidential election many Iranians gathering in the center of Tehran for a peaceful pro-moussari rally, the twitter was also used by the protesters in just 18 days over 2 million tweets have been posted to tell the world what is happening. The web is shaking up the world’s politics because it can capture information from people of eyewitnesses and transmit globally in real time. It is mediated, inactive, and immobile.
Internet is an open platform in democratic opportunity to people express themselves and to get information. We seen how tremendous power to individual and provide purpose and cohesion to desperate groups but their freedom is the unshakable authority of the state so what develop is an arms raise between the citizens and the state.
It will also leave a negative effect specially when communication system with no sensual control is unbreakable and powerful even in the right or wrong hand it takes a massive significant in battlers against the authority and anonymous users can perform the role of investigative journalist by publishing hard information and protecting their primary sources.
Undeniable that the internet has become a fully integrated part of our society and the world touching many aspects of our business, political, environment and even personal lives where we can be able not only quickly access information from sources all over the world but also transfer information quickly and easily and it gives life to all of us, but it can be also a killer because of the abusive power using in illegal or inappropriate way that can be destroyed a person’s way of living, professional activities and become the greatest enemy of the state.

Netizens also described Isabelle’s pre-debut shoot as “Imeldific” and likened her red gown as a symbolism to the bloody drug war.The shoot also gave birth to a Facebook page called “Malacañang Events and Catering Services” after Isabelle said she requested to have a photoshoot at the Malacañan Palace. But still, the Modernization Program is already set in motion The modern jeepney should also be equipped with safety features, such as a speed limiter, closed-circuit television camera (CCTV), GPS, and dashboard camera. It will also be outfitted with an automated fare collection system to make it compatible with the current payment system being implemented in Metro Manila’s 3 train lines. TAX REFORM: WORTHY OR WORTHLESS?
“HOW will the tax reform affect Filipinos?” this could be the question running into our minds as  we dance our way to 2018 after President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law last December 19 the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion package along with the P3.767 trillion 2018 annual budget.
To clearly define, TRAIN/Republic Act 10963 law exempts from paying taxes the first P250, 000 annual taxable income, meaning those earning P21, 000 a month would no longer need to pay income taxes. It also raises the tax exemption for 13th month pay and other bonuses to P90, 000. However, to compensate for loss of revenue from income taxes, Filipinos will need to pay excise tax on sweetened beverages, and higher excise taxes on petroleum, automobile, tobacco, mining, and coal even the basic commodities will surely rise. TRAIN have the big impact not just only for capitalists and wage earners but also to the less privileged consumers.
On the other hand, TRAIN, for the non- taxpayers will benefit from the reform by way of more job opportunities, better infrastructure that will lower the transport and distribution costs of goods, and improved services. Non- taxpayers will benefit because of higher spending for education, health care, and other forms of human capital development that would help set the foundation to lift themselves out of the poverty trap. The question is, is this benefits granting to the non- taxpayers will run for good or it might be only feel in a short period of time? Let us see what President Duterte and his administration would do to stop the huge poverty in the country.
As the year entered with the NEW TAX REORM we will observe how this reform will arrange the promised benefits to the public, especially, the poorest of the poor. We will keep an eye on whether it will give more benefits to the tax payers or the other way around.

"Filipinos are not ready for the new tax system"
2 out of 10 Filipinos Workers knows about the new implemented tax system, Train Law or Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion. In which the government adjusted to lower the income tax rate but put an a higher rate in Tobacco, Sweetened Beverages, Fuel, etc. This is to finance the Build, Build, Build program of President Duterte. As far as the facts can tell, Filipinos are not literate about the new tax system. The government neglected to fully informed the Filipinos. Here are the ideas of Filipinos.
An accountant said that “For me unang una agree ako, hmmm in general ang purpose naman ng Train Law is to address yung mga, kasi actually may deficiency talaga yung tax system natin before, specially yung income tax. So I think for the income tax it’s okay kasi it addresses, karamihan kasi sa mga Filipinos they are middle income employee so actually itog mga employees maganda na kasi this January naramdaman na nila yung effect ng pagbaba ng income tax rate natin,”
A Securuty guard said that “May napanood naman akong interview sa malacañang na magtataas ang excise tax sa sugar drinks tama po, dahil sa ngayon sa bansa natin marami ang bilang na may tumataas ang sugar level so kapag tumaas na yun mabuti di kasi hindi na bibili ang mga tao ng matatamis so iwas sa sakit na diabetes”
Some Filipinos thought that Train Law are for the new Transportation System.

SHOULD YOU BE AFRAID OF MOCHA USON?
Tumblr media
Mocha Uson, assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, is awarded the Thomasian Alumni Award in Government Service by the UST Alumni Association. (Photo by Michael Angelo M. Reyes/The Varsitarian) UST’s official Student Publication
When one invokes the name “Mocha Uson,” what usually comes into mind is a sexy entertainer who is a member of a group called the Mocha Girls which she helped form. She has also appeared in several TV shows and films, often in sexy roles, and has appeared in documentaries on YouTube on her brand of “sex education.” This is the Mocha Uson many Filipinos know. It has been a great shock for the country when President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Uson as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCCO) and handling the social media department which many have not expected to be a political and social commentator as what her role in present.
Until one day, one of the major news has been reported about her when the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association Inc. (UST AAI) gave Mocha Uson the Thomasian Alumni Award for Government Service. This award completely brought to many people specially students, alumnus, and members of the press to express their outrage and discouragement upon the UST Alumni Association, against the award given to Uson. The photo (above) quickly became viral, earning more than 1,000 reactions, over 700 shares and nearly 500 comments in just an hour.
Why was there still a need to give such an award to someone who in the Government Service knows for spreading lies, lots of lies? Is it enough to say that she deserve the award because she reached the qualification granted to her as a Tomasian graduate and Government official?  We should not dignify her wrong acts by giving her such an award How can the general public believe in her capacity and credibility as a government official if she at the center of the disinformation campaigns? A woman we used to know as a “Queen of fake news” received the award is adding insult to an injury actually. Should you be afraid of Mocha Uson?

"Shaping the Independent Communication in Digital Age"
A documentary entitled Online Journalism inSouthEast Asia looked into similar revolutions in the countries of Singapore, Cambodia and Malaysia and tells how traditional journalists adapt to the the new medium that is the Internet, and how the younger generation rely on the Internet more and more for their news needs.
Iris Gonzales a Filipino blogger stated “The more information you have, the more democratic you can get." We live in the world where we can get information from different situation such as sociopolitical, outside and inside the country issues and we have the freedom to react in every happenings, we become more expressive online than the actual interaction. Anybody can be a journalist, A person with good intentions can help spreading truth and well beings. Each of us can unnecessary create rumours with wrong news and information to spread online.
I think we are at the stage where the Internet is established a medium of choice, for reasons such as its accessibility as well as the speed at which content is delivered. Online journalism has already started to mobilize people to take action about the content they receive.
Put this in our mind that, Online is just a method of delivery, like print or broadcast. There's no inherent quality to a piece if reportage that comes from its medium. Think of it this way, this story online, if I print it out does that change how good it is? Or if I read it over the radio? Of course not. The quality of the journalism depends on the content, not the medium.

“A Piece of Innovation”
Tumblr media
Nowadays, the main use given to nuclear energy is the generation of electric power. Nuclear power plants are responsible of doing this process. Almost all nuclear power plants in production are using nuclear fission since the nuclear fusion, despite being under development, is currently unfeasible.
The operation of a nuclear power plant is identical to the operation of a thermoelectric power plant operating with coal, oil or gas, except in the way of providing heat to the water for converting this one into steam. In nuclear reactors this process of producing heat is made by the fission reactions of the fuel atoms.
The production of electric energy is continuous. A nuclear power plant is generating electricity for almost 90% of annual time. It reduces the price volatility of other fuels such as petrol. It's an alternative to fossil fuels, so the consumption of fuels such as coal or oil is reduced. This reduction of coal and oil consumption benefits the situation of global warming and global climate change. By reducing the consumption of fossil fuels we also improve the quality of the air affecting the disease and quality of life.
Despite the high level of sophistication of the safety systems of nuclear power plants the human aspect has always an impact. Facing an unexpected event or managing a nuclear accident we don't have any guarantee that decisions we took are always the best. Two good examples are Chernobyl and Fukushima.
Nuclear plants have a limited life. The investment for the construction of a nuclear plant is very high and must be recovered as soon as possible, so it raises the cost of electricity generated. In other words, the energy generated is cheap compared to the cost of fuel, but the recovery of its construction is much more expensive.
Current nuclear reactors work by fission nuclear reactions. These chain reactions is generated in case control systems fail, generating continuous reactions causing a radioactive explosion that would be virtually impossible to contain.
There is already one Nuclear Power Plant in the Philippines which is the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. Nuclear fuels, unlike fossil fuels, do not produce carbon dioxide that can add up to the condition of climate change but what I am most concerned about is that just like fossil fuels, nuclear fuels are non-renewable energy resources. And if there is an accident, large amounts of radioactive material could be released into the environment. In addition, nuclear waste remains radioactive and is hazardous to health for thousands of years. It must be stored safely.
There are a lot of countries that have started and already been using renewable energy. Norway, Scottland, Greensbrug, etc. are running on 100% renewable energy. I suggest if we are about to have another power plant why not a renewable energy producing power plant
