Fuck FucKonami
I wouldn't call myself a fan of the current Konami, that said the #FucKonami people are cancer and have become so irritating and stupid that I almost want to support Konami out of spite.
Part of it was the dumb correlations, no ReMGS3 wasnât canned to make pachinko, no Silent Hills wasnât canned to make pachinko, it was canned because it likely look to cost them more than they were willing to pay.
Konami's shitty treatment of Kojima is well known, my only guess for why he was kept in a room a year while his team they tried to tie up MGSVPP is that Konami didnât want to just directly fire him or was having trouble making up their mind.
That said it seems his mistreatment was the only mistreatment most of his fanâs cared about, attacks on the Survive director, âsomeone whoâd worked under Kojima for yearsâ were to be expected, what wasnât is that major games websites actively encouraged it. If it anything it's a sign that Konami don't care about the games media and the games media don't care about Konami.
If Konami cared about PR they would have exploited this for sympathy or at least used it to sell a few copies of Survive.

This whole thing started because of this image, which some of the less stable fanâs have taken to be some sneak attack on Yota Tsutsumizaki, never mind that itâs right at the start of the game so he surely saw it, in fact, it may well have been his idea.Â

Also Sterling selling FucKonami t-shirts is comical, you're not running a charity to make money for abused Konami staff dude, youâre contributing to it.Â

Doki Doki please subvert my expections
I like that Doki Doki Literature Club! getting in the news has lead to the mass admission that it flaunts it's twist and likely was never meant to be played sincerely as a dating sim.
I can't judge it as I've not played it but its reception reminds me a ton of The Stanley Parable and Spec Ops The Line, neither of which were all that fantastic, Stanley was good fun for a little while but got old pretty quickly, Spec Ops was the Bioshock Infinity of cover shooters.
Good visuals but pretty bland in all other ways.
Iâm not gonna be surprised when the whole premise is screaming please surprise me, at least go nuts with the twists like Samurai Flamenco and keep topping yourself.

I got to come down on this, I feel like I've been taking shots at Cage since indigo prophecy, at least when people were talking about what great stories he told, but it feels like the infected bubbles burst and his haters are becoming nuttier that his hardcore fans.
Be real, do the people shitting on Cage for using robots want him to make a dead serious game about "what if slavery in modern-day Americaâ
plus this is throwing tons of sci-fi under the bus just because folk don't like Cage.

Dead Rising 3
ITâs the worst one,,,, but itâs still better than the last few Saints Row games.
DR3 is still an above average open world game but it ditches a ton of what made the prior games great in favor of what makes other games bad, want to shoot 50 speakers, I sure donât, the maps also way to big and I spent way too much time driving to and from missions.
Itâs still fun and thereâs an impressive amount of toys on offer but the difficulty and challenge is gone, Nightmare Mode is easier than the prior games with the most difficult part being the lack of a proper timer for story missions, meaning itâs easy to run out of time without noticing.
Weapons are also to overpowered, itâs not SR4 bad since you have a much stricter limit on ammo but itâs still too easy to find a few that work and stick to them.
I hear the PC version meant to be bad but I had no issues, the frame rate is 30FPS but it stays as 30 rather than being like Witcher 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider both of which love to jump up and down, which I find way more irritating.
Oh and too many of the side quests are just fetching stuff, oh and the game is full of game lengthening distractions, like kill 40 zombies in this area to save a survivor, it just much dumber than before, which is a shame as DR1 and 2 were some of the smartest open world games on the market.
What good, well the same stuff as before, lots of varied weapons, you can go in most of the buildings, the tone of the whole thing, over the top and silly but never to the point that it stops caring, did I mention I wasnât huge on SR4.
itâs just hard to think of stuff it did better than the prior titles and easy to think of things it did worse.

MaddAddam
So I finished up the MaddAddam Trilogy and it wasnât half bad, it didnât inspire me to read more but it was a fun ride, well apart from the middle of both books 2 and 3, I got a little bored with those.
1â˛s the clear winner for me, it feels the most real, itâs not that it has a great twisty plot or likeable characters itâs that it has the most bleakness, the end of the world feels like the end of the world in this one, 2 and 3 ditch this.
2 takes in time to get going and is overall the weakest, plus the ending relies on far too much coincidence.
3 was basically more 2 but better, 2 felt like it was stalling, 3 see things come together and wrap up and the endings pretty satisfying.
If a TV show does happen I hope they merge the 3 as it would help the pace a lot, to much of 2 and 3 are spent filling in backstory for characters.

Wizards are likely too old and mellow for shooting spreeâs.
There more likely to just go on their own.
Nevada-tan is a hero because she decided not to an hero. You know like all the American kids do nowadays.
Iâm still waiting for a wizard to do something
Theyâre ticking time bombs and even /r9k/ beat them to this shitÂ

Donât hope, Jim Sterlings in at least his thirties bro.
Honestly Iâm so sick of teenagers (at least I hope theyâre teenagers, I really hope they arenât adults) who get into arguments about video games or tv or whatever and immediately have to drag social justice or politics into it cause they canât talk without doing so.
Itâs like you canât talk about anything anymore without some imbecile trying to equate it to LBGT rights, or racial relations, or gender relations, purely because that lets them be ârightâ and makes you âwrongâ. Like the idea of just having a discussion about a piece of media is completely beyond them, they have to immediately make it a moral argument that they can be GOOD AND PURE AND RIGHT about. No, disagreeing with you about a video game isnât the equivalent of not wanting gay people to get married, thanks. Stay in school.

2 names I see popping up a bunch are LA noire and Mass Effect 3 I've not played Mass Effect 3 but I've played 1 and 2, 2 didn't click with me but from what little of know of 3 from fans of the 2 is that itâs the worst in the series, LA noire I have played to completion and itâ ain't good, I donât think skipping combat in LA noire improves on it much since there are numerous other issues but itâs hardly one of the games strong points, not that LA noire really has much in the way of strong points.
Now do people recall how many edits there are flouting around of The Phantom Menace, people didn't like the movie so they cut chunks of it out to make something they at least found tolerable.
To me LAN and ME3 skip are the game equivalent of this, only done much sloppier, the devâs realized than what they had on hand wasn't that good and offered a way to skip large parts of the game because they didn't have confidence in the finished product.
Meanwhile Dishonored and Deus Ex do let you skip combat, only rather than being a messy hack jobs to tries to make a weak title better for a small group of people by messily chopping out content itâs called not getting into fights, those titles let you avoid most direct conflict by just not being seen by the enemies, a much better way that just chucking out a skip button.Â
Going back even further True Crime, not a great title but an overhated one, come up with a far better to way to accommodate players of lower skill levels, rather than just letting players failing players skip parts that were to hard for them it made the failures part of the story alternative cut-scenes, a far better method than just presenting a skip button.

Shit on the table.
Today I've eaten one bowl of rice and some hazel nuts.
That's bad.
I'm generally pretty bad at getting my required intake of food but not this bad.
Want to know why?
There's shit on the table downstairs.
I don't want to go downstairs and make something to eat because there's shit on the table.
I'm not going to tell you why there's shit on the table but it's there and I don't want to spend time in a room with shit on the table.
I guess I'll try and have a large meal tomorrow.
