hopping here to say the same: while I wasn’t as obsessed as a lot of swifties are, I enjoyed her music (but from reputation onwards since I don’t really like country) and I also went to the Eras Tour, but ever since TTPD’s release I am really disappointed: besides a few songs I didn’t really enjoy it and I don’t listen to it too much, also I couldn’t move past the fact that she essentially used Joe Alwyn’s depression as a marketing ploy (and throwing him to the wolfs after HE WAS THERE FOR HER IN HER MOST DIFFICULT TIME) and then using asylums and mental illnesses as an aesthetic. I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and situational depression, my struggles aren’t glamorous and I’d do anything to function without them. And her surrounding herself with MAGAs makes me want to puke and then visiting children’s hospitals to save face makes me even more disgusted, there isn’t one genuine thing about her. I’ll always love reputation, folklore and evermore, but she can choke and I really hope she gets cancelled soon (although I am afraid she’ll come back stronger since that’s what pests do).

My level of Upset at Taylor Swift in recent months has been, like, not that of a normal person. But like... girliepop's unequivocally made herself into a fantasy high school cheerleader who breaks bread with MAGATs.

She's molded her entire personality to an asshole Trumper who can't read, seems to perceive herself as HIS sidekick (as if), and has completely abandoned every semblance of fighting those in power to the point that I'm like, yeah, maybe Miss Americana WAS 90% Joe's influence.

I miss my girl, I want her back, and I think she's gone. I'm just coming to accept that even if she and Travis break up, the woman I deeply loved and respected isn't coming back. She'll just mold herself to the next man she gets with, and even if she doesn't, the trust in her I had is lowkey already broken.

Anyway, I've been struggling with this far more than I should be. My love for her music will always remain a constant in my life - it has been since 2006 - but I don't think my regard for her will ever be what it was.

i’m extremely new to this blog so forgive me if this has already been talked about, but i just saw a video of taylor’s 2024 vmas acceptance speech. did she really thank TRAVIS for her award? like “everything he touches turns to happiness” or something like i thought it’s supposed to be girl power and female director?? why give this man credit for your accomplishments?

i just rewatched the video and i have a cynical take - it really feels like she's feeding the fan fascination with her relationship in a calculated way. the beats where she seems to wait for reaction, the way she doesn't just say "thank you to travis" but kind of teases it in a build up?

yeah that's PR savvy first and foremost. which means that yes, she knows that her brand is inextricably wrapped up in her significant other. how could it be otherwise when she shot to fame with "love story" - unfortunately, it's a microcosm of her brand and what people have connected with about her from the start. a bit sad for all of us if i'm honest. surely there has to be more to a life and career.

So recently, Taylor accompanied her gorilla back fur having boyfriend, Travis, to his cousin’s wedding.

The bride also happens to be a bigoted bitch who told her family member that he couldn’t come to her wedding because he’s gay and wears makeup.

Apparently half the family skipped that wedding, including Jason “yells the F slur” Kelce, who had the good sense not to attend a MAGA wedding, if only for PR purposes.

But Travis and Taylor showed up, because they just HAD to get photo ops to show the world that they are still very much together and *madly in love*.

Seriously, happy pride month to all the LGBT swifties who were convinced that Taylor cared about them. It turns out you were just another untapped demographic that Taylor had to hit in order to make money off you.
