So, I don't age regress like I used to. I feel so weird for it. And really, I shouldn't. Please for those of you who don't understand:

- Age regression is a coping mechanism.

Some anti-DDLG opinions.

First off, I’d like to point out that I am in no way against BDSM as a whole. There are problematic parts of the community, just as there are in any group of people with a shared quality or interest, but I have no problem with kinky stuff in general.

HOWEVER.

I am getting really damn sick and tired of seeing DDLG (and other related kink stuff) all over the place, and becoming so normalised. I hear fucking KIDS making references to this stuff, joking or otherwise. I can’t go into the comment section of a picture of a hot guy without seeing tonnes of people - often very young people - calling him daddy.

Regression is NOT sexual. It can happen to people as a genuine part of mental illnesses, trauma, and other conditions. I won’t pretend to be an expert on this, because I’m not a doctor, but I have experienced regression and related symptoms as a part of my autism and PTSD.

DDLG and related kinks are sexualising children’s stuff. I don’t understand why it’s controversial/problematic to state that this is inherently bad. First of all, it’s mimicking paedophilia - sure, you might not advocate sex with children, or even have any attraction to minors whatsoever, but it is still roleplaying something paedophilic. And to those who argue they aren’t promoting paedophilia, that’s bullshit and you know it. Actual paedophiles are seeing DDLG content everywhere now, and it makes them feel like their sexual attraction to children and childlike things is okay, that it’s cute, that people will accept them for it. They can fucking pose as “acceptable” DDLG community members, and this isn’t okay.

It’s not okay - not in any way, shape, or fucking form - that I can’t hear a young girl call her father “daddy” in public without cringing. I hear teenage girls from my college giggling and making really inappropriate jokes about it, literally on the bus with that child and that father. It’s disgusting.

I know multiple people who have felt genuinely uncomfortable with their own dads in recent years because of the prevelance of DDLG culture online. People who haven’t been able to call their fathers anything affectionate or feel close to them because of all this bullshit. How horrible is that?

You are roleplaying incestuous abuse and paedophilia. You are filling online spaces that are meant to be innocent - that are meant to be for damn children - with porn and sickening displays of unhealthy coping mechanisms and bizarre kinks.

If I can’t go into the tags for one of my favourite kids’ TV shows without seeing some girl’s faux-cutesy commentary about her “daddy”, something is definitely wrong. And I don’t fucking care about safe search or blacklisting or whatever - this stuff shouldn’t be on there, or even happening, in the first place!

I’m not usually one for online ranting. Hell, I’m a kinky piece of shit in many ways, but this is getting out of hand. I am sick to death of seeing people - some of whom are actually underage - normalise this kind of behaviour. I’m fed up of clothes stores selling DDLG-based clothes and accessories.
