my house thoughts made it to tumblr before I did!!!!

so I finally convinced on of my friends to watch house md, mainly through being extremely autistic about it. she knew a little about the show, some through me talking about it, some through general internet findings. we watched a few episodes, when she turned to me and said "people think he's just a grumpy asshole, but he's actually quite a kind guy"

and she's so right

house is, whilst an asshole, objectively rather kind. I think the point when she said this was when a clinic patient was going to lose her insurance, so he makes sure she gets as many tests as possible to make the most of it. and he continues to be kind! I know the most famous example of this is with the rape victim, but there's countless other examples. one that springs to mind for me is the amputee war vet in s6. does he go about it in completely the wrong way? absolutely. but he does it to be kind.
