Bacolod Chicken House | BF Homes Paranaque
Before Mang Inasal , Chicken Inasal Bacolod, Bacolod Chicken Inasal and OTHER Inasals came to Manila. There's Bacolod Chicken House located at BF Homes, Paranaque and been there since 1990's. During those times, Inasals were not a mainstream food for people in Luzon as this delectable food originated from Negros. The first time I ate here is when I was 5 years old. I was not even enrolled yet in my school in Paranaque and this restaurant has been standing and serving patrons from the villagers of BF Paranaque .
Bacolod Chicken House Menu
When I first ate here the interior is inspired from a "outback country style" house. It has dark red bricks, yellow lighting and dark drift woods on walls and ceilings as far as I can recalled. Now, they removed it and simply changed it into a more spacious restaurant by painting the walls with a light green color, painting the ceiling with white color and removing the bricks.
Sago Gulaman
Just ordered one batchoy for the whole family. The chicharon is crunchy and has good quality. It s obvious that they have a reputable supplier of chicharon.
I ordered a Pecho( Chiken Breast ) and garlic rice. I just like the thought of garlic sprinkled on rice...Parang ang sarap papakin tuloy nung garlic.
Baticolon (Gizzards). Dad was about to order chicken butt but I said that that s the part of a chicken that has the highest content of fat= High cholesterol.

Okay, I really, really can’t wait for the Velada Tomasina on the 25th! And the comments and posts on Facebook are getting funnier! Haha.
Le checklist:
Wear a Filipiniana or Spanish era costume. (I even want to wear it while taking our last third shifting exam, Biochemistry!)
Roam around...

It s now the guys turn. It s quite hard to spot lads and gentlemen in UST wearing Decent Barongs and 18th century coat and ties just like what Jose Rizal, Graciano Lopez Jaena wear in their University years
(Top Photo)
The Matador and the General
(Middle left)
I dont know what his character is but this one looks like he joined a Cosplay instead a formal 18th century event. Nevertheless, he caught the attention of all students and visitors in UST
(Middle Right)
One of the guards in UST wearing a guardia civil costume while pimping his ride on his Tricycle
(bottom)
One of the well dressed gentleman wearing a brown stripped pineapple barong and salakot at the la Naval Procession

Yesterday was University of Santo Tomas Velada Tomasina. Students, Staff, Faculty and alumni were highly encouraged to wear 18th century costumes to relive the rich and colorful past of UST during the Spanish Colonial Era. I did not expect that there were lots of student who will participate in this event. It was a success for the organizers to do this event for the closing week of the 400th year celebration of UST.
How I wish they have done this when I was still a student of UST. More Photos to come of BEST DRESS STUDENTS AND FACULTY of this premiere University

Bang Bang at Vibang | BF, Las Pinas
This is your typical side walk turo turo/ Provincial Kitchenette that offers a " Filipino Lutong Bahay" which offer a MYRIAD ARRAY of dishes. When I say its myriad, it means there are a lot of choices which makes them unique among carinderias that we have here in the Philippines. From Grilled dishes to soups and Vegetables and meat, they have it here.Nestled inside BF Homes Las Pinas. Vibang attracts patrons from this subdivision and other neighbouring villages. This eatery has been here for less than a decade if I am not mistaken and has never failed its clientele to enjoy eating Filipino Carinderia foods.
Sinigang Soup
It is an open space where air can enter and passer by can easily see what s going on inside the eatery. And just like a typical provincial carinderia, the structure is made out of Nipa and coconut lumber.
Craving for liempo ( Grilled Pork Chop)
Tanigue
The thick Tortang Talong
I guess this is sinampalukan ( Tamarind Chicken Soup)
Spicy Bicol Express
My Meal. I tried each food in little servings so that I can critique the dishes and all I can say is that the food is good. It s not great but it s not bad at all. Carry lang.

El Nido, Palawan | Part 3
Lesson learned from this tour: Always know who you are joining with especially if you are a sole traveler.
I was looking forward for this tour ( * Pangalusian island * Snake Island * Codugnon Cave * Cathedral Cave * Pinagbuyutan Island) as I have enjoyed my island hopping travel with this cool group from Tour A and C but this time it was kind of boring because of the group that I joined with. It was a young family of Chinese Nationals who did not talk to me in the whole tour. I am not generalizing that all Chinese are snob but this family gave me an impression that some of them tend to isolate individuals. I highly doubt it was the language barrier as they are proficient in speaking English but I guess they just dont want to talk to me.
Pangalusian Island Clear waters
Had lunch at Snake Island and I heard a noisy and jolly group approaching the island while I was taking photos of the sand bar. I saw the newly wed Filipino couple who saw me eating at restaurant in El Nido and a New Zealander and Aussie couple who delightfully greeted me when I passed by them. I was thinking already if could just join them right away so that my tour would be enjoyable. One more thing, the boatmen were not able to provide "POTABLE DRINKING WATER" and I had to ask the newly wed couple if they can give me water.
Taking a photo of me at Condugnon Cave.
I guess this is the most beautiful Island Ive ever been(Pinagbuyatan Island). It s just pure paradise!!!
I quickly found a spot for myself!!No utter disturbance
Sun kissed
I will post more photos here in my tumblr photo page. Tumblr blog can only post photos up to 5mb. Most of my El Nido photos are more than 5mb.
