INTERVIEWS
Carline(mother)-Her religion is Christianity she was raised having no religion then when she reached her teen years her mother began attending church every Sunday and bringing along carline now her mother is a pastor of a church in Jamaica and carline ministers through song. Their mission as Christians is to spread the gossip of Christ
Jonathan(father)- He specifically states Rastafari is not a religion but instead a spiritual way of life which is a connection with god not forced or organized. Saturday is known as the Sabbath where they perform no work
Muhammad(friend)- He is Muslim God is referred to as Allah. He has an Islamic faith they believe in one God. Which of whom is a creator and protector
Malik(boyfriend)- He has no religion but does believe in a higher power, to him spirituality is more important than being religious. He feels that having a connection with the most high is important but should be done in one’s own way of doing so.
After these interviews it made me realize that i have so many people in my life that have ver different viewpoints when it comes to religion and i still don’t know what i really believe in i grew up going to church with my mother and sometimes my father would go yet my mother and father don’t believe the same thing i feel as though it is good to believe in something that there is some type of higher being watching over you. I feel as though even though the people i interviewed believe in different things the basis of what each believe in is that someone is watching over.

I speak to friends everyday who are also students at Morgan as well as professors my family which includes my mother and father along with my older and younger sister.
In terms of power with my friends it doesn’t matter about your gender religion etc. but as far as age between my friends no one is significantly older or younger because of this i feel as though you can’t really say one has more power than another. When it comes to my professors there is a sense of power they have over me being that even though i put in the work to pass at the end of the day my professor is the main factors that determines that matter. My parents have power over me as well because they brought me into this world one could aslo say that with the age difference in my parents and me as well as with my professor that plays a role in them have power. My older sister is only 1 year older but she has a job which means she has more income she has her own apartment i’d day that because of these factors it’s safe to say that power between the two of us is not balanced being that she can get things that i can’t because of her income. With my younger sister i think age does show how power is organized. There are no political negotiations but the power dynamic I’d say has a lot to do with age as well as income not so much sex religion etc. at least not with the individuals i speak to everyday

FIELDWORK 13-
Hello, my name Carline Williams and I was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. I migrated in 1986 to the United States I was 17 years old. I am a second generation immigrant. My first year in America was challenging I had to be put back in a lower grade as well as being bullied. In Jamaica many of the household duties are performed by the woman meanwhile the men are out working. Whereas in America woman work just as much as men outside the home. My reasoning for wanted to migrate to the U.S is because I had no choice my parents forced me to come in hopes that I would have a better life.

FIELDWORK 12 The first chocolate bar was made in Britain by Joseph Fry and his son, they pressed a paste made of cocoa powder and sugar into a bar shape. The chocolate bar was later developed in 1849 when John Cadbury introduced his brand of the chocolate bar. Fry and Cadbury then worked together on making chocolate bars. The very first milk chocolate bar was made by Henry Nestle and Daniel Peter and was created by adding milk to the traditional chocolate recipe. Which results in a creamier taste and smoother texture.Cocoa is the primary ingredient in Hershey’s as well as in all chocolate. Along with other ingredients such as Milk chocolate sugar, milk, chocolate, cocoa butter, lactose, milk fat, soy lecithin, PGPR, emulsifier, vanillin, and artificial flavor. The milk comes from dairy farms within 100 miles of Hershey, sugar from sugar plantations across the southern US and other places around the world with natural vanilla. The most popular candy bar sold today is the Snickers bar. The top 10 most popular bars are the Snickers bar, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the Kit Kat, Butterfinger, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, Baby Ruth, M&M’s, Oh Henry!, and the Hershey bar.The Hershey bar holds the record for topping the favorites list the longest, and other bars, like the Baby Ruth.

Class, Status, and Power these are the 3 parts Max Weber classified social class as which have an impact on society now. These classes were set in place to group different people such as upper middle and lower class which still is evident today. Upper being more wealthy than that of lower which was poor. Of course middle class being exactly what I’d says the middle of upper and lower.
Have lunch at a reduced cost of free for children gives all kids the opportunity to have food when their families are unable to afford it setting this in place at school causes children to enjoy a meal that they most likely won’t receive at home due to the low income there parents or guardian make because they are in the lower class.

Masculinity- He tells mulan who is pretending to be a boy that after training “him” to fight and be strong for war he will make a man out of him implying that right now he is too weak what's most interesting about this is that mulan is actually a woman and soon performs tasks that are typically for men better than the men.

Gender- “Teach you how to treat a woman”
Power- “There’s not a dream in this world you can’t accomplish or grasp”
Dialect- “Just hold onto Mama’s hand and never let go”
She’s singing to her son she mentions gender by saying she will teach her son the way to treat a women. She then goes on to power by saying any dream you have you that you will not be able to accomplish and then throughout the song she uses the word “Mama” which is the word her son refers to her as which others may say “Mother” “Mom” “Mommy” etc.

Assignment #3
The location i chose is the center of Blount towers, Thurgood Marshall, and Rawlings i chose this location because it’s where i spend the most of my time when i am not in class because for starters i live in thurgood and my friend live in Blount and Rawlings is where i eat. What i did notice is there are a lot of people who also spend there time in these locations but what i didn’t expect to see was so many people outside i expected to just see a lot of people just walking into the buildings but a lot of people just hang out outside i also observed that lore people hang outside in the night time then during the day which i assume is because they are attending classes during the day.

Tuskegee Experiment
This study went against the ethics policy in effect today and I believe its studies like this that caused their to be a ethics code now here are some examples of how the Tuskegee Study was unethical.
By not giving the participants the cure for syphilis they were doing more harm than good and causing the participants to suffer.
They also did not inform or in other words their was no consent of the participants that they would be injected with syphilis

Fieldwork Assignment #2

After completing this chart it just further showed something about myself that I already knew which is that I buy more of things that I need rather than the things that I want. This way I keep myself from being broke I feel like this is a very smart thing to do especially being a college student. I also noticed that my top spending would have to be on apple products but this is mainly because its a good product that will last me long so in the long run it will cost me less than continuing to buy something that isn't as effective. With that being said the end result of this is that I focus on my needs first rather than wants
