Hey, anon from last ask here. So I decided to check out Dance Yourself Clean and I got a few takeaways

(Just for the record, I went in blind because I do not have Apple TV to see YFAN)

Anyways-

Way different from How Do You Sleep. A bit more lighthearted, if that makes sense.

The lyrics definitely fit Coop.

I listened to both songs side by side and I kinda prefer How Do You Sleep. I think it's because it portrays the darker side of the show (and I like dark stuff)

It's a fucking bop as well!! If I was Coop, I would also dance even though I can't!

I love it when directors or producers choose songs that fit so well in the story, whether that be direct or subtle. It's almost like finding secrets within.

I'm sorry. I read your message and was busy so I was gonna come back and answer it cuz I had a longer reply in mind than what I had time for. Then I forgot about it. And no one inboxes me anymore so I don't check it. My numbers been stuck at 4 for months too, even if it's empty, so seeing the mail count didn't make me remember it either lol

Anyway, yeah. My bad. No one talks to me about anything on here so I feel extra bad for forgetting to reply.

But yeah. That's cool. Tbh with you I think both of those songs could do without the 3-4 min long intros before they actually get to the song part of the song. But I think the intro to Dance Yourself Clean sounds more like actual music than the intro to How Do You Sleep. The intro to How Do You Sleep kinda gives me anxiety cuz it's almost like background music you hear in a suspense or horror scene. Me no like. Horror movies don't bother me, but that music does for some reason. I'm a very noise sensitive though so that has something to do with it. Really repetitive noise makes me anxious. Once it gets to the song bit though it's not bad.

But we'll have to agree to disagree because I feel like the How Do You Sleep is darker than the dark side of Coop and his life. So while it sounded nice for the trailer, I don’t really feel it fits him all that well. At least not how it's presented in the show. In reality a person delving into crime and snorting coke and being arrested for murder sounds pretty damn dark but overall I think they take a very light approach to it in the show.

But that's just my two cents. I still appreciate the conversation! And sorry again for forgetting to reply.

I have to say, I'm actually super glad Jon never signed on to do a Marvel movie or a superhero movie of any kind. I know he was willing and wanted to, but I'm glad it didn't happen.

They take a nice looking man and blow him up twice his regular size with muscle and it's just ew.
