Monthly Roundup - No.1
Shalom ..Shalom :)
I'm excited to introduce a new monthly series where I curate a blog post highlighting the most remarkable content I discovered throughout the month. Each roundup will include a diverse range of media, such as captivating YouTube videos, thought-provoking Bible verses, inspiring Instagram posts, and insightful tweets. To ensure quality and conciseness, I will limit each post to a maximum of 10 items. So without further ado, let's dive into our inaugural edition of this series. Here are the highlights for this month:~
1. Jessica Reedy has won my heart all over again
youtube
What a calm and gentle spirit?... just exuding femininity allover the gaff lool
2. More Jessica Reedy..cah she a GOAT 👸
youtube
“JESSICA REEDY ladies and gentlemen!” This is a ALOT ..phew! And some of you thought calm people can’t be crazy at the same time? Haha should have known better!
3. Daddy Issues w/ Pastor Isaac Williams
youtube
“It’s key that we[men] all become father figures to be a father to someone else.” - Sooo much wisdom on this one too, absolutely top stuff 👌🏽
4. James 4:14 - “...A vapour that appears for a little time and then vanish.”
Tumblr media
Mehnn the Holy Spirit just reminded me of this one during the week ….We are often so quick to judge each other based on how good/ bad we look, how much clout one has, etc. But none of us came with stuff when we arrived on this earth, and when we leave we won’t be able to take it with us. If life itself it’s just “a vapour”, how much more the things that we possess? (tangible or intangible)
5. Sometimes you gotta endure that weeping for a minute before you can enjoy the joy in the morning
Tumblr media
That’s all for this week friends... until next time ✌️

Pain > Pleasure
“Your Purpose is Connected To Your Pain” - Breshana Miller
As human beings, we run away from pain and suffering. This mechanism is ingrained in our brains. And in today's social media-centered world, celebrities and influencers culture, the misconception that pain is bad and it must be avoided at all cost is even more prevalent. However, since God’s main focus is to develop our characters so that we can understand better who He is, I have come to believe that there is actually more purpose in our pain than pleasure.
I'm going to tackle this from a Christian perspective, but there are many authors (e.g. David Goggins) who have written extensively on this topic from other angles e.g. personal development, finance, etc. Ultimately, many came to a conclusion similar to that "To grow in life, you must be willing to suffer, because suffering is the only way you can grow."
Now, since there is no need of reinventing the wheel, here is what other believers have already discussed on this topic:
1. God Has a Purpose in Suffering - Tim Barnett
“Suffering is normal in a fallen world. The apostle Paul says, ‘The whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now’ (Rom. 8:22). The world is broken. And we can see the effects of that brokenness all around us. Sadly, many people—including Christians—are surprised by suffering. This can lead people to adopt a distorted view of God, faith, and suffering. This highlights why we need to have an accurate theology of suffering...”

2. Your Purpose is Connected To Your Pain - Breshana Miller
“If you think about the analogy of a woman who is in labor, she must travail in pain before she gives birth.  But, when it's over, there is joy!  In Ephesians 2:10, it says, We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God before had ordained that we should walk in them. We are God's workmanship and it is incumbent upon us to walk in our purpose and do the work that God has assigned you to do...”

3. Five Purposes for Suffering - John Piper
“Finally, Reminder: Suffering reminds us that God sent his Son into the world to suffer so that our suffering would not be God’s condemnation but his purification. Philippians 3:10...”

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” - Heb 12:1-2
