Please, I beg of you, listen to cult survivors when they say he is a deeply traumatized character. He is the way he is because of deep seated trauma from growing up in a cult. He was raised in a cult. That is traumatic no matter your position in a cult. Anyone who was once in a cult can tell you this

Please don’t water down his trauma just because “x character had it worse” or “well he’s evil and I don’t like him”. You don’t have to like him, not even a little bit. I just am begging you to understand that cult trauma is deep rooted and complex
