This is from my online math class - tips on complementary and supplementary angles while using examples on a construction site.
In short, complementary angles (right angle) when added equal to 90 degrees while supplementary angles are 180 degrees and lies on a single straight line.

This is after taking the drywall and left with the wooden framing. It’s cool to see the electrical behind the drywall.
When hanging up items on the wall, I was given the advice before that don’t drill holes or hang items on top of a light switch or an outlet. Electrical lines usually run upwards vertically. It was cool to actually see this.

This is from volunteer experience. It’s unfortunate that my time there was short-lived. I did learn some things about demolition though. This is before taking down a drywall in a bedroom that would be turned into a washroom. We’re taking down the wall to move the entire wall to create bigger space for the washroom. Before taking down the drywall, the baseboard and casings of the door (including the closet door) had to be removed. The casings and baseboards are nailed on top of the drywall and therefore removing these will make removing the drywall much easier. Also, not sure if this universal in all construction projects, but the general contractor at this company would mark ‘X’ on the wall that he wants to be taken down and “D.N.T” for “do not touch” for walls that will stay or will be taken out at a later time.

The Big Shift
Hello, welcome to my blog. My name is Gabi and I am here to share my experiences in regards to switching careers to the trades.
Why the trades?
After going to university writing copious amount of essays and working in roles that involved doing administrative tasks in front of the computer, I noticed that I was yearning to have a career wherein I can be more creative and work with my hands. This is an urge that I’ve been contemplating to pursue for many years. It’s easy to get stuck in routine, even with routines that we want to stray away from. Before quitting my previous job, I always thought that I was stuck on a paved predictable path and I wouldn’t survive if I choose an unknown one.
It’s been almost one year since I quit my previous job. I admit, it’s not easy but I’m still here. I’m grateful to the folks that continually help me in paving this untraveled path. I wouldn’t have done this alone.
Now let’s see where this journey takes me.
