Listen, I got more people tryna convince me of how I stand how then tryna let me fit in Like I’m too grown but they tellin me stop kiddin No chains on still rappers say I’m different Bible written on my heart yet Christians say I’m a misfit And it just clicks My pen flicks, Across the paper and I meet my savior Nothing so sweet as truly knowing your own flavor Because I wear black skin I’m being watched for the caper But I did my time and that’s nothing you can taper Don’t wear fades so my people won’t recognize me They say I need to be flashy, shiny and whiny Apparently that’s how you make it in the game of rhyming So i figures it ain’t my timing But I’m gonna make my figures I don’t bounce dimes around or pull triggers I kick rhymes around and I’m minimalistic with my niggers And I should say n-words for folks with sensitive tempers And temper it for folks with extended tenures Sitting at their desks or those taking that internship I’ll internalize the anger and wait on my spaceship to take me to my mentors For those of you that can’t apprehend where my mission is Abort any attempt to put shackles on my pyramid My schemes are to grand and slaves is set free off this My ambition is the empire state but you can’t see off this Too many degrees of uninhibited freedom Where the land of the free could never tweak my ish I’m coming from a place no man could ever set feet on this. You could beat on it Bet on it, wrap or bang your head on it The stone the building refused, go ahead and go dead on it Pour out liquor or lead on it But I’d never let you tread on it Your wishing I would commiserate or take your commissions Only to be trapped by permits and permissions Bruh, Vision is vision Rap is rap, crap is crap Dap is wack when you got it like that So I’ll stick to having my back For many its too good and and for many they want that But I’m just a poet not a rapper and well, I’ll leave it at that.
