Hello!
I’m huge fan. The Books of Deacon series revived my love of reading some years ago.
When I read the series, I had a favorite character.
I have to ask…why’d you do it?
It has been years and I’m not over it.
He knew the blood on his hands would never truly wash off. He was a good man in a bad business. There was only one way he'd ever balance the scales in his mind, but at least he could make it count.

Artist Spotlight: Chandra Free
If you are a fan of comics and art, the artists alley of a large comic convention is a wonderland. During the very first NYCC I attended with enough money in my pocket for a commission, I discovered Chandra Free’s table and got this:
The long, lean, flowing style is distinctive and dripping with personality. When a recent kickstarter provided the opportunity to acquire an updated printing of the marvelous graphic novel The God Machine, I jumped at the chance to have it on my shelf. Gorgeous and haunting.
Pick it up at Storybundle for a limited time.

Artist Spotlight: Jay Miller
An author, particularly one in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, has an endless need for skilled illustrators. That is how I first crossed paths with Jay Miller.
Since we first worked together, it has been an honor and a pleasure to see his artwork develop and mature. Wanderlust is a showcase of the evolution of that art and narrative into something deep and personal. It is available as a part of The Underground Comics Bundle.

Artist Spotlight: Fable
I’ll be doing artist spotlights for each of the artists who are featured in the Underground Comics Bundle. These highlights will be focused on how I discovered them and why I chose them for the bundle.
Fable Siegel
I’ve known and worked with Fable for nearly my entire literary career. Their skill with character design is second to none. Particularly impressive to me is their capacity to work to a style in one piece and showcase well-developed and distinctive artistic sensibility in another. It seems paradoxical.
It goes without saying that such talent with characters would make for a captivating comic. And Umbagog is exactly that. I completed the available series and remain tantalized for what the future holds.

Just curious if you're self published or rep'd? I actually started reading your free wrench series as I was writing a children's book and I think you did well expanding on characters by not over stuffing each one into the following books
Hi! I'm self-pubbed. I'm glad you've enjoyed Free-Wrench! Good luck with your children's book.

I’m making a rare reappearance here on Tumblr to share this stunning commission by SHAKUMl. Remarkable.
For those not familiar with my stuff, this is Ivy. She’s a creature called a malthrope. In the Book of Deacon fantasy setting they are a race of fox creatures. Due to the circumstances of her creation, her emotions evoke powerful mystical effects. Here we see happiness, which surrounds her with a yellow aura that heals and revitalizes those around her.

I just received a gorgeous commission of Lil and Nita. It is the unmistakable work of @toodrunktofindaurl. The characters were MADE to be painted in her style.
These two can be found in the Free-Wrench series of steampunk novels, if you’d like to know more about them.

SO CUTE!
Finished commissions for @mrsdrpepper and @jrlallo of their cute dragons Peepo and Blodgette, respectively.
I was blessed this commission round to get to draw so many cute dragons. And food based dragons to make it even better<3
Thank you both for the commissions and letting me make art of your cute characters!

Hi you probably get so much fanmail you're not gonna see this one but I recently finished your Book of Deacon anthology and The D'Karon Apprentice and I am a huge fan of your work!! Your world building is phenomenal and you're characters are lovable and diverse and I'm so excited to read the rest of your works.
Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed my stories! I actually don’t get many messages here on tumblr, so there was no risk of me missing yours. I’m just about to get rolling again on a Book of Deacon project, so hopefully there will be more stories for you before too much longer. And in the mean time, I hope you enjoy the rest of my stuff!
