Paint the change you want to see. 💁‍♂️ I’m not painting right now but if I start up again all I want to do is paint burning cars. Maybe I should see a therapist? Or maybe it’s a normal reaction to highly un-normal world. I dunno. I guess it’s for the nameless faceless void to decide. Queen Elizabeth was the real OG lady boss. Did this study on paper using oils and the lettering I did with fluorescent One Shot, sign painters enamel which is like retina burning bright. Anyway I couldn’t help myself. Meme-ification of culture as cheap blunt tool of critique has injected itself deeply into my psyche! 🚬 How’s that for some French existentialist philosophy?! This work will be on view in my upcoming show Sorry Not Sorry June 3rd 6pm 273 Grand St Fl 3 NYC Oil Study- The Rainbow Portrait, Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger, c. 1600–02, oil and fluorescent paint on paper 18” x 24” 2022 SOLD For more info or presales contact [email protected] https://www.instagram.com/p/CeBfse7u59J/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“What’s beef? Beef is when you make your enemies start your Jeep. Beef is when you roll no less than 30 deep. Beef is when I see you. Guaranteed to be in ICU.” - Notrious B.I.G. Descartes was the father of western dualist thought, the separation of mind from body and therefore man from nature. He conceived the natural world as mere material devoid of intrinsic value. He believed animals were simply machines made out of meat, incapable of feeling, without souls. To prove his point, he vivisected dogs while they were alive to demonstrate that they only had an automatic reflex that mimicked pain. As a founder of the Enlightenment that shaped a conception of ourselves as superior to the natural world: Rene Descartes, thank you for shopping here. I have a show coming up so I can’t burn all my new work on IG yet but here’s a painting from a few years back when I was doing a series of vandalized Roman portrait heads. I mixed fluorescent paint with the oil color to give it that sickly digital glow. I tried printing a t shirt of it but the colors came out terrible. Now it’s my least favorite shirt. I actually hide it in the back, where things disappear forever in the dark. Where it shall remain for the rest of its days. Is there a metaphor for life here? 🤔 Marble Head of Herakles, Imperial, Roman, 1st century A.D. - Metropolitan Museum of Art oil on canvas 20” x 16” 2018 https://www.instagram.com/p/CdqFnhUOcNf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

New painting! Not just a hang over helper, Bloody Mary the first queen of England got the nickname because she had 280 Protestants burned at the stake. So there’s that. And she loved Flamin Hot Cheetos and cocaine! I know, right?! So weird. Then again who DOESN’T like Flamin Hot Cheetos and cocaine? Well, not me, of course I’m too boring and old to eat Cheetos. Seriously tho, how about no more killing people? Too much to ask? Peace on earth? I’m gonna have to keep fucking up these portraits of powerful elites by piling a bunch of garbage in their stupid faces I guess. Sorry! It’s so dumb, I had to do it! I have no impulse control! I think the more years I spend making art the worse it gets. I fully give up on trying to be smart. From now on it’s gonna be head poundingly obvious puns and super basic dad jokes. Also I now consider myself to be a real expert in Elizabeth The First because I saw BOTH the Helen Mirren miniseries AND the Cate Blanchett movie. So watch out. This oil study is my scholarly thesis on the matter. Nuff said. 👑🕶👠 https://www.instagram.com/p/CbYpeooF681/?utm_medium=tumblr

Another little oil study. You may have heard Cortez conquered the Aztecs but what you didn’t know is he got slapped in the face with a pepperoni slice. And now you know. And knowing is half the battle. 🍕⚔️ https://www.instagram.com/p/Caz7EChFlPy/?utm_medium=tumblr

Ladies and Germs may I present Cristóbal Colon! No need to save face! He’s letting it all hang out! King of his domain I all his dollar store glory. I started this painting last summer and then put it aside to work on Antoinette so in a way they are kind of a couple. Anyway I wanted to deface this dude for a while. People ask me if the items I use have any particular significance and YES! They do! I choose things that are emblematic or have some cognitive link to my feelings about civilization and the causes of our current decline. Like the candy Chewy Spree reminds me of shopping spree and killing spree. Plastic dinosaurs besides being an extinct species are literally made out of dinosaurs, a tidy comment on our use of fossil fuels. The chattering teeth are both a cheap gimmick and the all consuming mouth, never satiated. Lottery tickets represent the get rich quick scheme, a seemingly historic impulse (Colombus himself was motivated by it), while also being a rope a dope for the working class. It goes on. This painting is kind of terrifying but maybe it should be. Colonialist thought still dominates our world view in so many ways. For anyone who is interested in the story of the European conquest told from an indigenous perspective I encourage you to watch “Exterminate all the Brutes” by the excellent Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck. I think it’s on HBO if you swing that way. Anyway there it is! Ta mutherfuckin Da. New Mamba-licious recipe! This stupid thing took two days. 😑🍭 I remember eating these in high school. Now they kind of taste like sugar and wax melted together. In a good way? https://www.instagram.com/p/CY76IkYMoqT/?utm_medium=tumblr
