No.1 Fitness PT Training

Growing up I was always into sport. Throughout Primary school my mom woke me up at the crack of dawn, much to mine and my brothers dismay, to take us swimming - as we both swam for Romford Town. I danced from the age of 3 as well as doing gymnastics, so fitness and being physically active have been ingrained in me since i was a kid.

Fast forward a few years into secondary school, with the massive oversized back packs that contained every single text book of all the subjects I took but definitely didn’t need, bushy eyebrows, and fugly teeth, topped off with a ‘deckchair uniform’ - I decided the only way to get through my adolescent tomboy years was to immerse myself in sport. 

I was in every single team at school, and the captain of some too. I was known for my long distance running, dancing, and hurdling. I was essentially a sports ‘neek.’ Fast forward a few more years to university and it all suddenly stops. Why? Alcohol, boys, and partying. :|

Having spent the majority of my early 20′s being in states I don’t wish to disclose, I decided it was time I needed to get into shape. So I joined a gym and started doing classes again. I worked with Nike fitness who helped me get back on track with a cardio PT course, and I found my love for fitness and sport again. 

Nowadays I’m regularly in the gym, and trying to achieve the best and healthiest version of me that I can. What better way to do this? I have decided to embark on a PT Instructor course with No1. Fitness.  Having taught dance when I was younger, I always thought that would be an occupation choice for me, I never really thought about being a PT, but I’m excited to embark on the journey. 

The course is split into e-learning and physical sessions. The e-learning side of things means I can fit my progress into my hectic schedule. For me, having a PT qualification will deepen my knowledge of how everything works and why. I am excited to just be learning again to be honest, and slightly nervous about meeting the other wanabe-PTs.

FARR FESTIVAL 2017

A couple of weeks ago The Unisex Mode headed to Farr Festival in Hertfordshire again for a weekend filled with glitter, sparkles, forest fun and constant disco vibes!

I saw some of my favourite clothing brands, with the likes of Elsie & Fred kitting everyone out in their sparkly Bamba pants, and I also met the WEKOKO girls who were all dressed head to toe in sparkles and sequins and looked amazing! There was a nice mix of clothing stalls and food stalls, and there was some yoga and entertainment to keep you occupied if you wanted a break from the music.

Then my friend Zoe Lower was there with her Mermaid Cave boutique selling some of her own brand Zola as well as bejewelling peoples faces all weekend.

On Thursday my girl Moxie set pace and got the crowd going at The Factory.

I spent most of my time with my friends at The Shack, as that seemed to be the most consistent place banging out the soul and disco tunes. My highlight was probably Floating Points - he always plays a banging set. It made such a difference going to a smaller festival that has a longer licence meaning you could carry on raving till 4am!

I saw some seriously sassy outfits, some short, some covered up and functional, which got me thinking to start a festival hash tag #staycozyandsassy - highlighting festival style that is comfortable, and functional but looking sick at the same time. (I captured a few at the top of the post) I had a fabulous few days in amongst the turnip fields and the magical sunsets - it was nice to be away at a festival but so close to home as well! Looking forward to next year!
