tate-farronsinclairā:
Tate nodded in slow agreement. She had her own things to see to in the morning and she knew it was best for them to part ā for now.Ā āAlright. Yes, go get some rest. Your workās probably not the best work to do on too little sleep.ā She met the final kiss on a sigh and then stepped back fully, smiled.Ā āIām looking forward to it myself. But for now, I suppose Iāll have to say goodnight and walk you out.ā
āYeah it really isnāt. Although there have been times where itās happened just as part of the job itself. Those shifts are never very fun.ā Slipping one hand down, she gently took Tateās hand and held it as they walked back to the door. She paused and gave the woman a goodbye kiss on her cheek.Ā āThank you for a wonderful night. It really was quite fun.ā Giving Thor a quick scratch on his head, she said goodnight and turned to head back to Ridgeline.

With her hand still on Julietteās cheek, she could feel the other woman leaning in and knew exactly what would follow. She let her hand drop from cheek to neck when their mouths met, a little shiver moving through her at the feeling of Julietteās tongue against her lip. Before she could respond too fully, however, Juliette was leaning back again and Tate sighed a little, though she was pleased she didnāt go too far. Right within reach should they decide to resume this kissing thing.Ā āIām sure weāll do all sorts of great things together,ā she assured, leaning into to brush her lips across Julietteās again.Ā āModeling is just as much work as making the art. I donāt underestimate what youāre doing for me. Itās hard.ā She brushed her thumb over Julietteās jaw, sighed just a little.Ā āItās getting late. I shouldnāt hold you too long. Iām sure you have plenty to do tomorrow.ā But she made no move to step back.Ā The truth was, Tate was rather hoping time would freeze and let them have the night. But that just wasnāt how the world worked.
āIāll try not to underestimate it myself then.ā She replied, sighing softly at the mention of how late it was.Ā āI wish I didnāt have to go, but I probably should. I picked up a short shift at the hospital and I need to be up early.ā Leaning in again, she gave Tate one last soft kiss before pulling back further.Ā āI canāt wait to see you again. Whether itās for a date or for work. Weāll have some fun either way.āĀ

tate-farronsinclairā:
āIt will. Alright, the next session we have, weāll try for a Ghost moment.ā It was worth it just for a bit of fun in any case, and if nothing else, sheād get to spend more time with Juliette outside of her own work. That was motivation enough. It was strange still, the way the other woman touched her. It wasnāt something she was used to, but she found she liked it. She liked that Juliette could just reach out and touch in a way that was intimate, but casually so. As if theyād always had this, as if they had all the time in the world to keep right on having it. With her fingers cupping Julietteās cheek, she felt her smile spread, her own lips curving in response.Ā āI know itās going to be,ā she replied with easy confidence.Ā āI have a vision ā again, metaphoric ā and I have an exceptional model. It wonāt be hard to live up to,ā she added with a quiet laugh.Ā āAll you have to do is show up and the standard is met.ā
Laughing softly, she shook her head.Ā āI donāt know about being exceptional, but thank you.ā She found herself enjoying these moments with Tate even more than she had before. It was clear there was a certain level of comfort between them that she hadnāt felt with someone else in a very long time. Leaning in slowly, Juliette pressed her lips to Tateās in a gentle kiss. Her eyes slipped closed as her tongue swiped across Tateās lower lip. Pulling back, she remained fairly close and smiled.Ā āYou are very kind and I canāt wait to see what weāre able to do together. Even if I just sit there and pose the whole time while you do all the work.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
Her almost sardonic smile softened slightly at Julietteās words, at how earnest they were and how obvious it was that the wolf truly meant what she said.Ā āIām glad I met you too,ā she couldnāt help but agree. It had definitely come at a weird time ā right after the fiasco with Lisa, when Tate was feeling a little stupid and a lot lonely. It was almost like a boot up the ass from the universe telling her to stop feeling sorry for herself. Well, Tate could take a hint.Ā āAh, I see. I donāt sit down to watch films much. Itās not as fun when you can only listen to them, I think. Too much relies on vision. I prefer podcasts. But thatā¦ā She smirked, going for a cocky sort of look as her hand dropped, fingers curling loosely into Julietteās hem again.Ā āI can definitely teach you pottery like that if thatās what youād like. Though I donāt know how romantic reality is in comparison. Itās sort of a messy art form.ā Tate smiled and closed her eyes, centering herself as she considered.Ā āWell, Iāll finish you in clay first,ā she said.Ā āThen Iāve a tool that measures, places points of reference. Iāll use that to transfer you to marble, you wonāt have to sit for that. Think of it as like⦠the clay is the negative and the marble is the finished photo. Except itās a bit more involved, I suppose, and they wonāt be exactly the same.ā Her hand inched up, fingertips just barely brushing up the front of Juliette to find her face. Once she did, she let her fingers touch more fully, tracing lightly over Julietteās features. Remembering them, picturing what her magic had shown her the last time sheād looked at her.Ā āMarble I tend to reserve for projects I canāt see ā metaphorically ā being limited to clay. As I said, itās a bit more involved, takes a lot more time. But thereās something about marble that really emphasizes the beauty of a work. I do a better job communicating details through stone. And you⦠The project Iām working on with you, I canāt see it in anything else. Itās worthy of the time Iāll have to put in. I donāt do it for every project, you see. It has to be one I know will be some of my best work.ā
Juliette laughed and gave a slight shrug.Ā āI donāt know how romantic reality will be either, but itāll still be fun to try it. And ultimately itāll create a good memory wonāt it?ā Her hands reached out to lightly grasp Tateās hips as she listened in fascination while the other woman described her process. She couldnāt wait to see it in action. Sheād always been extremely fond of sculptures and that had only increased tenfold after meeting an actual sculptor. She blushed at the obvious compliment and couldnāt stop the grin that spread across her face. Tilting her head into Tateās hand, she tightened her grip slightly.Ā āYou think this is going to be some of your best work? That sets a pretty high standard for the rest of our sessions. I hope I can continue to live up to it.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
Tate rolled her eyes, but she was still smiling at the comment.Ā āYes, Iām a real prize,ā she said dryly, her hand coming up almost absently to touch the scarring she knew branched out from her eyes. The markings had deterred plenty of people in the past, after all. She took a bite of her second slice, set it down again as she reached over her counter and shifted her hand until she found the paper towels. Ripping a couple off, she offered one to Juliette and used the second to rub her hands clean of grease, followed by her mouth.Ā āWhat do ghosts have to do with pottery?ā she asked curiously.Ā āWait, are ghosts real too? Iāve only ever known the witches, wolves, and vampires.ā She laughed a little at the comment and shook her head.Ā āThatās actually pretty much exactly how it happens,ā Tate corrected.Ā āYou should look up videos some time. Itās fairly interesting to watch. Thereās more than a chisel, of course, but thatās part of it. I donāt work in it often, but something about you calls for it.ā Tate chuckled and shook her head a little.Ā āYouāre full of compliments tonight.ā
Juliette watched Tate reach up to gently touch the scarring around her eyes and couldnāt help but frown. She thought Tate was beautiful, but she was willing to bet Tate didnāt feel that way about herself very often. Taking the paper towel, she cleaned off her hands before tossing it back on the counter. Reaching out, Juliette gently grasped Tateās elbows and spoke softly.Ā āYou are a prize, Tate. You are absolutely beautiful and Iām really glad that I met you.ā She chuckled softly at the question and shook her head.Ā āNo theyāre not. At least Iām pretty sure they arenāt. Ghost is a movie from the early nineties. Itās about this woman whose boyfriend is murdered and his spirit stays behind to protect her or something. Thereās a scene where sheās working on a pottery wheel and his ghostly self comes up behind her and helps her. It was a really romantic moment. Back then at least.ā Dropping her arms back to her sides, she made a small noise of interest.Ā āYeah, Iāll have to look up some videos. And I take it thatās a good thing that something about me calls for marble? Or is it a bad thing because itās more tedious to use?ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
āI donāt know how fascinating it could possibly be, watching me curse at clay for four hours,ā she said with a shake of her head, but she was smiling still as she continued to eat her pizza. Still halfway through her first slice when she heard the box rustle and knew Juliette had reached for another.Ā āYou donāt have to be good. Thatās why itās called a lesson,ā she pointed out.Ā āIāve got a pottery wheel tucked away here somewhere if you want something fairly easy. Otherwise I can teach you to sculpt something simple and small. I was thinking of switching to marble for the piece Iām working on with you,ā she added, thoughtful and still in the process of considering.Ā āWeāll see what mind Iām in next time.ā She finished her slice just as Juliette spoke again, sheepish now in the face of a more personal discussion.Ā āWe might,ā she agreed.Ā āEspecially now that I know youāre a fairly excellent kisser. Itās a good bonus.ā
āGetting to see anyoneās process is always fascinating. Plus it helps that youāre pretty cute.ā She finished off another slice as Tate spoke and had to force herself to actually slow down with this one. Sheād joked about Tate having to keep up, but she also knew it would be rude to eat most of the pizza herself.Ā āI will be willing to try whatever you want to teach me. If the pottery wheel is easier, that may be the best place to start. We can have a good old Ghost moment with it.ā She grinned and took a small bite.Ā āSee when you say that youāre thinking of switching to marble, I just have an image you wheeling in a giant block of marble and chiseling the statue out of it. I assume it doesnāt work like that?ā Blushing slightly, she gave a soft chuckle and glanced down.Ā āThank you. Youāre a pretty good kisser yourself.ā

āOh,ā Tate said, laughing a little as she nodded.Ā āAlright.ā Here she was saying how she wasnāt a slob and she was getting sauce all over herself like a child. A solid impression. She felt the brush of Julietteās thumb as she wiped away the sauce, managed to bite back a sigh at the feeling. Her hands were warm and soft and Tate wouldnāt have protested a bit if sheād wanted to keep them on her just a bit longer. But this was fine as well. Slow and steady, thatās what was needed here to make it last for them.Ā āThank you. Iām glad youāre enjoying the night. I was worried Iād chase you away after keeping you for so long,ā she said.Ā āIāll have to set a timer or some such thing next time.ā She took another bite of pizza, hummed in quiet satisfaction. It really was quite good.Ā āMaybe Iāll trade you a bit of a lesson as well, if you want to learn a bit.ā
āNo, no. It was honestly pretty fun. And fascinating to watch you work. I very much enjoyed myself. I donāt scare off that easily.ā There was a teasing lilt to her voice as she finished off her first slice and picked up another. She shrugged slightly, giving Tate a soft chuckle at the offer of a lesson.Ā āI donāt know how good Iād be, but Iām certainly willing to give it a shot. Anything I screw up, Iāll just let you fix.ā Setting the slice down for a moment, she turned to face Tate with a smile that she hoped was evident in her tone.Ā āI really did have a wonderful time tonight. Thank you for being willing to give this a shot. I know itās still early in both the professional and non-professional relationships, but I think we might be able to make it work.ā

Tate took a bite, healthy in size but nothing to rival a werewolf.Ā āIām afraid Iāve manners, Juliette,ā she said with a smirk, leaning against her counter.Ā āIām British, after all. We donāt inhale pizza.ā It was obvious she was teasing, however, as she ate the pizza just like any other person. Just not as fast as a wolf. It really was good and Tate reached up, wiping a smear of sauce from the corner of her own mouth and sucking it off her thumb.Ā āItās good,ā she agreed.Ā āIām glad you like it.ā
Juliette laughed before shaking her head.Ā āI donāt know what youāre talking about. I donāt inhale pizza. I just happen to maybe take larger bites and chew a little bit less.ā She paused for a moment, distracted by Tateās movements. When she noticed that the other woman had still left a bit of sauce, she reached out instinctively to wipe the rest off, but stilled her hand quickly.Ā āYou still have some on your chin. Let me get it for you.ā She warned so that she didnāt startle Tate. Continuing to reach out slowly, Juliette gently wiped the smear from Tateās chin and cleaned her thumb off on a napkin.Ā āI do like it. Tonight has turned out to be pretty great.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
Her head turned at the sound of the doorbell, surprised by the speed of it, but also kind of not. Small town, not as much business as the big city. She listened as Juliette walked off to answer, taking a moment to breathe and relax herself again. She hadnāt expected this when sheād called Juliette over. Hadnāt really known what to expect, though sheād hoped it would come to something more than just their work relationship.Ā āWhat do you think, Thor?ā she murmured.Ā āWhat are the chances Iāll mess it all up?ā He sat up at the sound of his name, head tilting as he looked up at her. She could hear the way he moved. There was a feeling of comfort that came from him and though he didnāt know her exact issue, he understood her mood and she was grateful to have him so linked. By the time Juliette returned, Tate felt a bit more relaxed, offering a smile and a hum of pleasure as the scent of pizza flooded the kitchen.Ā āPlates? Weāve a perfectly good box to eat right out of,ā she teased, moving forward towards the smell. Her hands lifted, patted until she bumped the box and swung it open. She selected a slice and brought it to her lips, taking a massive bite without a hint of self-consciousness.Ā āDig in,ā she told Juliette, motioning to the box.Ā āJust save me a slice.ā
She grinned and opened up the other box, the scent almost overwhelming her. Almost but not quite. Picking up a slice, she took a large bite and chewed briefly before swallowing. She couldnāt help but laugh at Tateās comment.Ā āI canāt make any promises. Youāll have to eat fast and keep up.ā Taking another bite, she groaned in contentment.Ā āThis is my first time eating from this place and it is probably the best pizza Iāve ever had.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
There was a tug of want as Juliette pulled away, her teeth catching at Tateās lower lip. Tate drew in a shaky breath and realized her hands had both reached up to grip the front of Julietteās shirt and flattened there, pressing into the warmth of her. Her lips bowed upward into a smile and she shook her head a little at her own lack of control even as she settled comfortably into Julietteās loose hold.Ā āIt was,ā she couldnāt help but agree, entirely truthful. It was just exactly what she thought a kiss should feel like between two people who were⦠involved. Was that the right word? It felt a bit old-fashioned, but Tate went with it.Ā āAnd Iām glad it happened before the pizza arrived. They tend to be a bit heavy-handed with the garlic.ā
Tateās hands on her stomach caused a shiver to course through Julietteās body. She chuckled softly and nodded. The kiss had been just about perfect. She really wanted this thing with Tate to work out and she was determined to get everything right. Laughing at Tateās comment about the pizza, she pulled back slightly.Ā āThat is definitely a good thing. Iām extra sensitive to smells to begin with, so too much garlic would just be awful.ā Hearing the doorbell ring, she took a small step back.Ā āHey speak of the devil. Iāll go get it.ā She pressed another quick kiss to Tateās cheek before heading to the front door to pay for their food. Bringing it back into the kitchen she set it on the counter and turned back to Tate.Ā āThis smells absolutely amazing. Do you want to use plates?ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
The kiss was soft and sweet but didnāt linger, giving Tate only a brief moment of immense relief before it ended. She stood still in the aftermath, assessing the moment and how she felt about it, her eyes closed as if that could help her picture things more clearly. And then, going with the impulsiveness she told herself only recently sheād work on keeping in check, Tate pressed up into another kiss. This time it was she who lingered, longer by far than Juliette had, enjoying the way her own pulse scrambled and the warmth seemed to spread through her from that one point of contact.
They stood still together for a moment, both ruminating on their first real kiss. Juliette hadnāt been expecting Tate to kiss her again, but oh she was glad that she did. She deepened the kiss, wrapping her arms loosely around Tateās waist. Warmth bloomed in her chest and she gave a soft moan before pulling away again, tugging Tateās bottom lip between her teeth. Resting their foreheads together, she grinned and began to sway gently.Ā āThat was...wonderful.ā

Warm hands slipped over her hips and Juliette felt her heart kick up a notch, fingers curling just a bit tighter around the hem of her shirt. It was a relief, hearing Juliette wanted to keep going, to see where this dating thing led between them. And at the soft question, Tate felt the air catch in her lungs, holding there a moment before she nodded.Ā āYes, please.ā
Her heart thudded nervously in her chest. She didnāt want to screw this up and it had been a very long time since she felt that way. Her grip on Tateās hips tightened slightly as the other woman nodded in the affirmative. Leaning in closer, she pressed a soft kiss to Tateās lips, lingering only for a moment before slowly pulling away again.

Tate rolled her eyes at the comment, but couldnāt help the laughter that bubbled out in response. Thor sat up where heād been laying, his tail thumping cheerfully against the floor as he read her mood.Ā āOnly three? God, what a bargain,ā she said in return, reaching out to hook her fingers lightly in the hem of Julietteās shirt. Tate caught her lower lip between her teeth at the next kiss to her cheek, head tilting slightly in response.Ā āIf you want it to be,ā she said on a deep breath,Ā āThen Iād say yes, as Iād like it to be.ā And god, it felt good to say it, to know she could.
Julietteās heart fluttered at the intimate gesture of Tate grasping the hem of her shirt. Moving her hands, she gently placed them on Tateās hips and moved in a little closer.Ā āGood. Iād really like it to be too.ā She licked her lips and took a slow, deep breath before whispering.Ā āCan I kiss you?ā

Their fingers curled together and Tate enjoyed the feeling of it, the warmth of Julietteās palm against her own. Wolves, she thought, were always so strangely warm.Ā āWell, you donāt already have a girlfriend, you knew we were on a date when we were on a date, and you havenāt asked me for a loan so Iād say weāre on the right track,ā she said with a small smile.
Juliette brought the palm of her free hand up to her forehead and shook her head.Ā āOh thatās right. I forgot. I need to borrow three thousand dollars.ā She giggled at the end, unable to even finish the sentence without doing so.Ā āSorry, I couldnāt help it. You really set me up perfectly.ā She kissed Tateās cheek again.Ā āBut in all seriousness, I agree that weāre on the right track. And I know that earlier doesnāt count as a date since we were working, but is this part now our second date?ā

She tilted her face up again when Juliette stepped closer, not one to shy away from that direct contact usually. Not that it mattered to her either way, but she knew it was more comfortable for others to see her face when she spoke. Her hand lifted, covered the one Juliette had on her opposite arm to keep it there, warm against her bare skin.Ā āYouāre not,ā she assured, lashes fluttering down as Juliette kissed her cheek. It made her smile faintly, an almost shy curve of lips.Ā āYou donāt?ā she asked, almost a whisper.Ā āWhat makes you so sure?ā
Juliette couldnāt help but smile when Tate told her that she wasnāt pressuring her. Sheād been concerned that she was and didnāt want to ruin their relationship before it started. Sliding her hand down Tateās arm, she entwined their fingers and held the other womanās hand tight, giving a half shrug at the question.Ā āHonestly, there isnāt anything in particular. I just have a good feeling about it. Hopefully Iām not wrong about that.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
She blew out a quiet breath as she felt Juliette move away from her again, though the places where her fingers had brushed felt warmer. She lifted a hand and covered that place, rubbing it absently as she listened to Juliette order the pizzas. Two large pizzas for two people. It made her laugh a little.Ā āHungry?ā she teased softly, tilting her face in Julietteās direction.Ā āOh, things have been⦠fine. Just settling in. Some more of my things arrived so Iāve been unpacking and getting a feel for the town again. I meant to call,ā she added, pushing a strand of loose hair back behind her ear as she tilted her face down and away.Ā āI just, um. I donāt know, I was⦠I suppose I had such a good time that Iām just nervous anything further will ruin it. It usually falls apart around the second date in my experience.ā
Juliette laughed loudly and shrugged.Ā āIām a wolf. Iām always hungry.ā She quieted down as Tate spoke, tilting her head to the side and smiling softly. Taking a step forward, she placed a gentle hand on Tateās forearm.Ā āHey, itās okay. I could have called just as easily. I havenāt actually dated in a very long time. I donāt want to push you or put too much pressure on you or anything.ā Leaning in, she kissed Tateās cheek before pulling away with a smile.Ā āThough if I can be honest, I donāt think itāll fall apart for us.ā

tate-farronsinclairā:
Tate scrubbed off her arms, ran a wash cloth across her face for good measure as she tended to splatter wet clay all over herself when she worked.Ā āPizza works,ā she agreed easily enough, not all that picky when it came to takeout. Juliette moved closer then until their sides brushed, the light contact making her go still. It wasnāt unpleasant, no ā quite the opposite in fact. It was more that Tate just didnāt know how to handle the casual intimacy. Sheād never had a real romantic connection before, rarely went on second dates or found someone she genuinely wanted to continue having a connection with. Sheād had sex a handful of times, sure, but nothing had ever really stuck relationship-wise and she really, really didnāt want to ruin this before it had a chance to go somewhere.Ā āIāll eat pretty much anything,ā she said at last, her voice a bit strained with her sudden nervousness.Ā āYou go ahead and pick.ā
Juliette could sense Tateās nerves; could hear the tension in her voice. She wasnāt sure if Tate was nervous about their potential romantic relationship interfering with their professional one. Or if Juliette had moved too quickly and shouldnāt be standing so close. She lightly brushed her fingers over Tateās forearm before moving away to grab her phone. After ordering two large pizzas, one with just cheese and one with everything, she set the menu down and leaned against the counter, looking over at Tate with a smile.Ā āSo, how have things been for you? Have you been keeping busy?ā
