Dust...Can i ask how you manage to draw like that? the Realism effect ?? what steps-layers-brushes do u use ??

Omg I’m not good at answering drawing questions, cuz I literally have little basic skills on drawing. I used to draw on my instinct and then I found that don’t always work so I tried to think & plan & make drafts etc.. Well I still manage my way to draw on my instinct..

The biggest tip if u do not have much drawing knowledge, or not sure what you’re going to draw, or don’t know how to create the effect u want, is finding references!!! The art of Webster kissing a skull actually has a picture of Billie Joe Armstrong doing the same pose and I referenced it when I drew this. (and uhh BJA looks like DW a lot)

So first this is my line draft (I don’t like to do lineart cuz I’m terrible at perspectives and anatomy so I modulate them when coloring. I do the line draft simple just try to find the vibe.

And then the color draft. I do this mostly in random ways, usually with large scale brushes. All I do is first roughly get an intrinsic color, then I add layers and layers of effects, sometimes lighting and sometimes different colour variations, based on the way you want it to look like. You can think of them as filters. Randomly change the layer mode sometimes gives unpredictable effects and may give you inspiration!!! These are some of the color effects I tried when creating this art.

Then when I find the color effect I usually just add another layer on the top (or place it under some of the effects layer) and render the detail. All I have to say here is reference is your greatest friend x (I wasn’t looking at reference for the face and hand here but I looked for reference of the skull and the crown)

To cut a beautiful shape and texture don’t be afraid to use any kinds of brushes!! Just try all of them. That’s what I always do and accidentally find the visual effects I believe is right. For smaller details and the final clean-up process I use smaller and sharper brushes

And if you see my layers u can see that I’m not separating any of details x most of them are for filter/effects/lighting.
