somewhere out there right now is a kid with curly hair being raised by people who have wavy hair at best and those people are giving them 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and telling them to dry brush it. and that kid is gonna spend all of middle school and high school hating their hair and moping over the flat iron. they're being told right now that if they don't dry-brush their curl pattern into oblivion every morning it means they're unkempt and gross even though they naturally have the kind of ringlets that a thousand bridezillas would commit horrible murders for every june. it's happening right now it's an absolute epidemic and a tragedy every time

A note, because not everyone knows this: if you're driving and another driver flashes their brights at you, this is a signal to be on alert and slow down. There may be debris in the road, a cop out of sight, or an animal crossing ahead of you. (Or, alternatively, your brights are on and they're getting blinded.) Whatever the reason, it's a signal that you need to focus and reduce speed. And possibly turn your own brights off.

If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.

Trumps getting rid of gay hotlines and I’m just so tired ..let the gays ring whoever they want lads ..this is dumb and just spiteful and meant to cause a reaction / distraction

for a second i thought this was about something very different but no it's about lgbt suicide hotlines. this is infuriating and, you're right, a distraction. idk it makes me a little weepy because that's such a huge part of my community. even in my extremely conservative home town, things have moved so far into acceptance and inclusion in the last twenty years. i think that's a comfort for me. there will always be evil to cater to but you can't change this momentum. the more you try, the more you piss people off. and it's my deep hope that pissed off people are people who protest more and vote more and volunteer more and make change.

"there should be some kind of test you have to take before having kids" -> wrong, extremely dangerous and highkey eugenicist and racist "the youth should have safe and effective legal pathways at their disposal to make sure their human rights are constantly protected and upheld" -> based, centers the youth, gives minors more power to fight inequality and does not reinforce the idea that parents are immune to scrutiny from their kids
