The most notable thing about both you and your hometown however, is what started happening in your teenage years. After you and your friends uncovered a mystery about the local movie theater, you starting finding more odd occurrences across the county, and well, it's not like anybody else was going to solve them.

You and your friends because a team of detectives. Most your teenage years and early twenties were spent solving odd crimes across the country. You were all best friends.

'Return to Misty Cove' is a horror/mystery Interactive Fiction game that is inspired by Scooby-Doo, The Works of Stephen King, and H.P. Lovecraft. This work will be rated 17+ for gore, violence, swearing, death, and body horror, that might not be suitable for everyone.

Customize your MC's appearance (gender, height, body type, ect.) develop their personality and become the linchpin of your mystery solving team.

RO's & Other Major Characters

Cameron "Cam" Morris (M/F) [RO]- Tech-savvy and mechanically minded, Cam is currently working as a mechanic after you and your group broke up, they are currently going to grad school for mechanical engineering, and still sends postcards and pictures to you. They are likely the sweetest person you have ever met, even if sometimes they are too kind to people who don't deserve it. Out of the four of you, Cam was always the one who needed to do what was right, no matter the cost to their self.

Ollie Cohen-Reyes (NB) [RO]- Ollie has always been interested in macabre and strange, spending hours researching in the library any and every topic they were interested in. They get along with very few people, but once they are able to get close with others it becomes easier, and they become sarcastic and witty, and feel less uncomfortable talking about their interests freely. They work as an adjunct professor in forensic anthropology.

Rose/Rory Thompson(M/F) [RO]- They are a loyal person, first and foremost. When the group broke up they somewhat lost their purpose, but they ended up settling and working as a bartender in Misty Cove. Having taken boxing and self-defense classes from a young age due to their paranoid parents, R was always the best when it came to physical confrontation with the cases you investigated, even if outside of this they never seemed like someone who had that much power. They have become far more aggressive and assertive than the person you knew as a child, now having the attitude to match their technical know-how.

Terra Clarke (F) [RO]- You originally knew her by a different name, but she started transitioning early on life, and Terra is the only name you can remember now. Normally when you say it it's followed by an eye roll. Terra was never someone you got along with when you lived in Misty Cove. She was always very antagonistic towards you and your friends, but a lot has changed since the last time you saw her. She now owns her Grandpa's diner, and tries to take good care of the people of the town, especially since the mayor won't do much. She is always exhausted now, but is very happy to see a familiar face, even if your history is muddied because of both of your actions.

Randall 'Randy' Clarke - Terra's grandfather and former owner of "Randy's Diner" always very kind to you and your friends, even if you all never got along with Terra.

Ana Lloyd - (pronounced AH-na) current mayor and overall very unprepared for her job.

Mrs. Candace Talbot- Your former English teacher from high school, you never got along with her that well.

Dorothy Giles- Your co-worker, likely the only one in your office who cares about her job.

The god of love, albeit a minor one, but a god nonetheless. You've never seen them, as Eros likes to stay hidden whilst casting their arrows. But, from what your tutors teach you, they have these massive angel wings that preen out whenever they get into something mischievous. Cloth wraps around their naked body, Eros doesn't leave much to the imagination. However, in some readings, Eros is depicted as a female with hip-length black hair, while in others, the male version likes to keep it cropped and out of his way.

There's a good amount of branching in this one. Three starts, two distinct middle paths, and it all comes together at the end. Because of that it might feel a little shorter than its almost 60k words (somehow the edit made it longer this time???), but I'm feeling good with the length.

Two years ago, Helios and Hunter embarked on a journey to Vesphire, while you were confined to your palace. In a matter of hours, they will be back. However, they won't be the only ones returning; the Imperial Army, dispatched two years prior to assist Norazaan in their war, will also be arriving with the royals of that land to express their gratitude.

A hunt has been organized to greet the guests from Norazaan upon their arrival. Whether you choose to participate or not, life will continue as usual. I trust you're ready for whatever may accompany the event.

Appearance: 5'11. Brunette with wavy hair (short for m, just below shoulders for f), tan skin, brown eyes, and a distinctive left brow slit. They've also got tattoos all over their body. Since the club gets hot quickly, you'll usually find them in something small and non-constricting, like a vest top and a pair of jeans. Personality: Unapologetically outspoken, they don't hold back. Blunt yet surprisingly charming, they've become somewhat of a local favourite in the area, rubbing shoulders with the right kind of people.

THE RIVAL [M/F] — Phoenix Ryder.

Appearance: 5'11. Black tightly curled hair (short for m, long for f, & often styled differently), dark skin, and brown eyes. They sport a 90s-inspired style—often seen in loose-fitting denim jeans, a breezy shirt/crop top, and adorned with silver rings. Personality: Suave, charismatic, confident, and a touch cheeky—checking all the Hollywood boxes. As noted by many, "a legend in the making."

INFERNO IF

Synopsis

Hundreds and hundreds years ago, you escaped from your trapper with the help of your best friend. You went through hell in the hands of your trapper and the only way you and your friend had gotten away was by opening a gate to another world.

A barren empty world, you couldn't stand the emptiness but were too lazy to do anything about it directly so you created the Source. An enigmatic and unseen entity (or not) that went on to create the entire world as people know it now.

You finally rested for a long time, got your own realm to rule when you got bored of resting, had many lovers and eventually went on to have six ungrateful kids with your best friend still standing firmly by your side through everything and everybody lived happily ever after right......?

The world in inferno is very similar to our own except from the fact that everything and everybody exists!!.

THEY ALL EXIST, and just like the ways humans like to fight gods do too! that's why peace keeping laws exist but never mind all that, they don't really concern you; everybody's scared of you! After all they fear what they do not know and plus there's a certain fear that comes with knowing that the person that created the world lives right among you and is not some ethereal divine being.

Just like the way humans have countries, the world of inferno has realms, each realm different from the other. Olympus is a different realm from heaven, and hell is a different realm from the above mentioned two. (The human realm is a different realm entirely).

Inferno is a different realm from the above mentioned three! You found inferno and you've been ruling it since forever alongside your kids and bestfriend peacefully and successfully, infact the media absolutely love you.

That is until a recent string of murders and sightings of things that aren't normal at all start showing up not just in your realm (well majorly in your realm) but in other realms too and worst of all you think you know who's responsible.

Worst of all Hera has picked now of all times to beg or drag (depends on your receptiveness to the idea) you into an arranged marriage with hades, supposed god of the underworld to save him from an obsessive Persephone.

Persephone has fallen madly in love with hades at first site or so the gossip blogs reported but ever since then she has been following him around madly and has refused to back down, she has somehow convinced her mother Demeter and Demeter has somehow convinced Zeus to bind the two (Persephone and hades) together in marriage.

Hades does not want that and hera cares too much for her brother to subject him to that, Zeus is pompous and listens to no one and Persephone is so madly in love and obsessed, she refuses vehemently to see reason and even swears to crush down anybody that takes hades from her.

The one person they have no choice but to listen to....YOU. you do not take part in underworld politics and definitely do not lord the fact that you created the world over them but people will always fear what they cannot understand.

You play as an mc juggling all these messes plus the fact that you have six kids (some grown, some not) but most of them ungrateful nevertheless or maybe you're just the ungrateful one.

(p.s despite the lighthearted tone with which I have narrated the plot and synopsis, you will play as an mc with some serious issues, mc has been through a lot and that is reflected in the facade they put up, the way they behave, the way they treat their kids e.t.c. But of course you can change all that.)

CHARACTERS

Hades(M)(RO): Your betrothed and eventual husband. Hades is polite..too polite you'd say, he's always thinking two steps ahead, always with a smile on his face and and an absolute favorite of the media. And now he's obsessed with you. He wants to help you he says, he wants to fix you he says, he wants you to go to therapy he says, you say hades is the one who needs help, you say hades wants to fix you to fix himself. There's a certain glint in his anyways that says he's been through some shit.

Rainbow(RO)(M/F): The slave: Rainbow is the nicest, brightest, clumsiest person you'd ever meet. He always has a smile on his face for everyone including you. He doesn't mind the fact that you scream at him or scold him or swear at him, he's bottom of the food chain after all and you... you're on the top, you're a god. What could a god like you possibly want with an imp that can't even speak to you without stuttering, speaks English messily and refers to himself in the third person constantly. You'd be mocked to hell by the other gods, there's no way a relationship like that could work right?, And besides he has the most stupid name you've ever heard even more stupid than your kids name and that's saying something.

Light(RO)(M): your deranged best friend and right hand man right from day 1. You've know light all your life and he's been with you every step of the way. He knows you like no one does and understands you like no one does or some he thinks. You've never looked at light romantically until now or maybe you've always had a crush on him who knows. Detached,calculative and intelligent with a soft spot for you and the kids.

Micheal/Michelle (RO)(M/F): M is interesting to say the least. They're an archanngel that you had (in a drunken mess) agreed to be your assistant and now they won't leave you alone. They feel like you have a lot to teach and want to learn everything from you. M becomes even more invested in your life after the god of heaven makes M heaven's official representative and investigator to assist you in the murders. They're charismatic, pesky and annoying. Will you let them get closer or push them away.

NOTE: Imps are last on the food chain and are majorly sold and bought as slaves. they're like kids mental wise and grow slowly mentally, 50 years in imp like is comparable to a 10 year old kid, so they're quite slow and very clumsy to the extent most can't even speak proper English without messing it up but they're also the kindest,purehearted beings you'll ever meet. I'll emphasis more on the creatures in the underworld another time.

Aire(M)(??hundreds?): your oldest and probably the smartest, rude, sarcastic and closed off. Ruler of ledorah, the capital of inferno.

Royal(M) (??hundreds?): your second oldest and head of your armies, quick to anger, loyal to a fault and defensive as fuck. Likes to mock you.

Alexandros(M) (22) : your third, ruler of Moonlight. Quiet, observant and charming, the media darling for a reason.

Moon(M) (19): your fourth, second in command of the armies and gatekeeper of denihel (inferno's prison). Cold, calculating and detached but with a soft spot for family. (Sometimes mocked and called gojo the character from jujutsu kaisen because he has to tie his eyes like gojo).

Stormy(M)(14): your fifth, lazy and snack stealer of the house but very charming and manipulative when he wants to be.

Mason(M) (8): your youngest and probably the laziest but an absolute favorite of everyone. Mason is cute,perfect and looks up to everyone in the house, even you!.

Cretaceous Island is based on the Jurassic Park/World franchise. You will step into the role of the head T-Rex keeper.

You’ve been working as a T-Rex keeper for over ten years now and every day is as interesting as the last.

Unfortunately, not even looking after some of the deadliest creatures in the world was enough to prepare you for the carnage that was about to unfold.

When the system goes down and the dinosaurs escape with evacuation impossible, it’s up to you and a ragtag team to restore order and protect both man and dinosaur.
