Now that the donation has been made we got the go-ahead to post our work for the @alluraliveszine ! This has been a comic that has been in my head since the end of s8 and I was really happy to get to dig my teeth into it. I wanted to make a nod to all of the characters doing a nice thing for Allura because the show was always the best when it was about found family.

also they rebuilt the castleship because it’s really cool.

i miss allura so much and whenever i remember vld i get upset, and that's one of the main moods for this decade's closure. can't believe we were so close to having something good but because allura had dark skin now she had to die

Keith, after the war, buys an engagement ring. He wears the gold band, slips it on every evening without fail, whispers the faintest apology into his knuckles, and kisses the surface.

People ask, before they choose not to. There’s an air of melancholy when he talks about his fiancee - “she’s away right now, but every night, I tell her I love her.” His smile never truly reaches his eyes, exhausted as they are.

(After the first year, he stops visiting. Her magnificence cannot be captured by mere stone, and he can’t bear to see her like this, his personal memory cast for an attraction.)

Keith, after the war, searches. She found him, saw him for who he was, accepted him as he was - she deserves this much, to see a post-war world, to see her people, to see Altea with her own two beautiful blue eyes.

He goes to the ends of the universe for her - he feels his soul sing, joining a composition of tens of thousands of his lifetimes in harmony when he finds her, and holds tight.

(It takes her far too long - a few seconds still is - for her to return, but she’s here - she’s light. She’s happy.)
