✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juni stared daggers at the slytherin. “ why ... i ' d NEVER take advantage of el like that , you punk ! ” she whisper-yells at him , than bites her lip and looks around , wondering if anyone had heard her. “ besides , i don't ' t believe in cheating my way to victory , ” she said venomously. the NERVE.

Laughter fell from El’s lips at the nickname. She didn’t think she’d ever become entirely familiar with her friend’s ‘southern charm’ as she called it. She definitely wasn’t used to peaches. Elisa started working on the paste. She was going to worry about it, despite her friend’s wishes. “Your sister adopted a pig? I’ve never even seen one in person, let alone had one adopted into my family.” It was an outlandish concept for her, growing up in the city hours away from any farm. But maybe it wasn’t so uncommon where Juni came from. Her attention back on her work, Elisa tested the consistency on the back of her hand before ruling it ready for use. “Here,” El sat in front of Juni, gently spreading the paste over the bruise that had hardly started to form. She noticed the girl not answering her question about her actions, but she figured she’d let it go for now. “Is there anything else injured that you can feel?”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper let out a tiny chuckle at elisa ' s giggle , despite the sullen mood she was still in. the lion nodded at the blonde ' s comment , “ yeah , a damn pig. don't ' t tell ally , but me and my older sis' snuck up on the pig in the middle of the night and ... set it free , ” she shakes her head at the thought , on how crushed her little sister was when WADDLES had 'run away'. juni knew her friend had grown up away from a farm , and she liked to count her lucky. i doubt you'd ever get mud in your hair when in the city. as elisa rubbed the paste on her injury , she was glad that she had let the whole 'what made you take action' question. juni wasn't sure if she was ready to open up about it just yet , and was snapped back out of her thoughts when elisa had asked her a question. “ yeah , yeah , i think i have a scratch on my neck , too , ” she lifts her hair to reveal a red line that went from her jaw to collar bones. “ doest hurt that much , but it might get infected or somethin' , ”

“You know, contrary to what they’re trying to tell us, Divination is unlike anything else we’re learning. Some people just can’t force themselves see it. It’s not a big deal. Stressing about it actually makes it harder.” Lorcan herself always did fairly well in Divination. It was among her favorite classes, for that exact reason. It just came easily to her. Something about the way her mind worked making her more receptive to the universe or…something.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper knitted her brows at the girl. “ that ' s where you're wrong , peaches , ” she announces , pride dripping in her tone. “ as long as you work hard , you can be good at ANYTHING , ” juni was too in denial to believe that she was merlin awful at divination. but her mentality got in the way of her actually succeeding at divination.

Elisa wanted to help Juni desperately. The only problem was that she didn’t exactly know how to. What was the point of the ‘inner eye’ if she couldn’t even help her friends with the coursework? The crystal ball had never exactly been her favorite method either, so she really wasn’t any help. But she wanted to help regardless. Elisa tried a smile towards her friend, placing a hand over hers to hopefully get her to stop suffocating the poor quill. “It is worse than the teacups. Take a deep breath, Juni. This sort of thing takes time to get. Some people can’t get it, and that’s okay.” Elisa dug through her brain to try to find any possible way she could explain it. “It’s… okay. It’s more than looking into this ball and seeing the future. You have to relax. The ball itself won’t do anything. You have to, more or less, look inside yourself to see what you’re supposed to see inside the crystal ball. Quiet your mind and let it come.” It felt like saying a bunch of nothing. “I’m sorry, I know that made no sense.”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper furrowed her brow , but simply resorted to a nod and a thank you , elisa. and scratched the back of her neck. “ i can try , peaches — ” she closes her eyes , “ — but that ' s really stupid advice , no offense , ” she says with her eyelids still shut , letting out a breath as she tried to calm herself. think calming thoughts , she tells herself. taking another deep breath , she thinks about apples fresh from the trees. her family. getting a perfect grade in potions. a slight grin ( that could surely be mistaken for a smirk ) juniper opens her eyes , and opens her mouth , “ yeah , i got nothing , ”

“this is bullshit,” Becca sighs staring at the orb with enough intensity to try and will the damn thing to reveal its secrets. the slytherins and gryffindors have combined divination today, and it seems to be going well for no one. “it’s hot and stuffy and this is dumb,” Becca complains, in response to the redhead’s comments. “at least with the tea cups we got tea out of it.”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — saying that gryffindors and slytherins didn't get along was just a silly stereotype. juni and becca got along quite fine , them being as short-tempred as they both were. resting her face in her hands , juniper let out a groan. “ STUPID SPHERE ! ” she ruffles a hand through her ginger hair , eyes angrily glaring at the crystal orb. “ now i want tea. where ' s a messy tea cup when you need one. don't ' t you Brits drink tea all the time or shit ? ” her southern accent raspy , it was clear that juni would constantly yell at the balk during class. she was just glad the professor didn't tell try to quite her down. yet.

“Well…I suggest that you give the divination a rest for a while. The more you look into it, the more the paranoia and anxiety will kick in.” she lightly suggested and sat back in her seat. Indie raised an eyebrow and held up her hands “Oh no, no thanks. I’m not really into trying to see into…I prefer to go forward and not worry about what I’ve seen or read”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper decided to take indie ' s words into account , and reaching into her backpack she grabs a velvet-blue piece of cloth , and placing it over the crystal ball. ( she had specifically bought the cloth for her crystal ball , as she didn't want any scratches on it. ) , she sighs a breath of relief. “ that ' s better , ” she slouches into her chair , and then sitting back in her same position , she rests her cheek on her hand. “ divination sucks , ” she mumbles.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — “ i can't believe i snuck in here because of YOU , ” although , it was less of 'sneaking in' and more of 'filch fell asleep' situation. “ now quit your whining , and let ' s play wizard chess , ” juniper grins , grabbing the pieces of the chess set that juni hastily squeezed inside her backpack. “ i call dibs on first turn , ”

“Honestly I don’t understand why my own dad wouldn’t get me outta detention.” Frankie said, sighing as she looked down at her notebook full of doodles. “I really hate this.”

Oliver just looked up, nonchalant expression never wavering. “You’re being disruptive. Some of us are out here to relax. So leave, or shut up. Unless you think you might need a silencing charm for that, in which case I’d be more than happy to help.”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juni gulps , her hands balling into fists. just WHO did this guy think he was? oh , now the girl longed to put him into his place , but after her fight with the prejudice pure-ie , and elisa not there to bail her out , the lioness thought best. breathing rapidly , the juni sat back down , and opened her book. juni might've been able to control herself from punching the guy , but her prie got the best of her , and slowly grabbing her wand from her backpack on the floor , she sends a a jinx his way.

“Don’t let the crystal ball or the tea cups tell you what’s going to happen. Don’t let it stress you out Juni” Indie soothed, trying to reassure that it’s not as bad as it seems. “Everything will be fine, just wait and see”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — pouting , juniper rests her cheek in her hand , trying to let indie ' s words of wisdom cheer her up. “ what do you suppose i do ? ” juni REALLY wanted to be good at divination , as the subject seemed to inspire her. the problem was , divination was entirely nothing like potions , it was either you had the EYE or you didn't. running a hand through her red locks , she tries nudging the ball at indie. “ why don't you try , ” she mutters , lips forming into a pout.

“What even happened that inspired you to take such an action?” She didn’t know, hadn’t given Juni enough time to explain before now. There was never a time that El thought violence was the answer, because it wasn’t, but she knew Juni probably didn’t agree with that sentiment. Elisa felt a pang of guilt in her gut. Her lectures were exhausting, she knew that. But how else was she going to get Juni to stop putting herself in such situations? Of course, she had heard so many over the years, what help would it be to give another? Juni was her friend, as unusual as it was for the two of them, being so different, to have such a relationship. Elisa cared about her. All she wanted to do was to keep her from getting in harm’s way. “I’m sorry. I know you hate it. I’ll spare you this time.” El grabbed a wetted rag and handed it to Juni. “Here, clean up a little. Is that still bleeding?” Juni’s lip wasn’t that bad, despite the blood making it look much more horrifying. It was her eye that’d be a bit tricky to mend. Elisa would need a paste to heal the bruising. Unfortunately, throughout the entirety of documented magical history, no one had ever bothered to create a spell for that sort of thing.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juni felt UNCOMFORTABLE under elisa ' s motherly-harsh stare , and she grabs the rag with her eyes cast down the stone floor. of course , elisa wanted an explanation , but the more the lion would think about it , the more she grew to discover it was something much more PERSONAL. licking the blood from her lips , she ' s hit by the mettalic taste ( as usual. ) , and retorting to her best friend , “ of course peaches , it was a fight afterall , ” it recounts juniper to what had just happened moments earlier , how the pureblood played DIRTY , digging her long , gold fingernail in her lower lip. she breathes heavily at the thought. “ don't ' t worry too much about my eye , though , i ' be received a lot worse from a pig that my younger sister adopted , ” she lets out a nervous chuckle , wondering how long she could evade elisa ' s question. ( “what even happened that aspired you to take such action ? ” )

“I said, move or shut up.” He said again, not at all bothered by her agitation. First of all, Oliver had a younger sister back home. Girls didn’t really bother him too easily. And, unlike with his sister back home, he could totally hex her if she got too annoying.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — smacking her book closed , juniper abruptly stood up , so she ' d be the taller one of the two ( juni was very self conscious of her height , but she ' d never admit it. ) , and her jade eyes bore down at him. “ why should I be the one to leave , blondie ? I WAS HERE FIRST ! ” she smacks her fist down on the table , and she hoped no one was staring , because juni was planning on suffocating him.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper joined mercer at their usual library desk , slamming her blue backpack on the table , face as RED as her GINGER HAIR. madame pince , the grumpy librarian , whispered a tiny 'shh!' , and eyes shooting up , juni gave her a look that could jinx. the librarian still masked her face in fury , but pursed her lips , as to not upset the tiny grryfindor , avoiding a MENTAL BREAKDOWN. after a few minutes of breathing exercises ( which consisted of juniper clenching her palls so tight their were nail marks now. ) , the witch finally said , very slowly , “ mercer , do you know who stole my remeberall ? ” quirking an eyebrow at the badger.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — a pile of books in her hand , and a book bag slung across her arm , the southerner trekked all the way to her next class , transfiguration. taking a turn , her curiosity took the better if her , and she peers down the hallway to see what was going on. wandering down the hall , she stops her tracks when she sees rayin playing. the little snake was practicing. a little taken aback by the question , she clears her throat. “ well , nothing i — you know what? i do need somethin' , do you have the charms homework for next week ? ”

Rayin had secluded himself in a mostly deserted corridor, practicing his guitar skills. He’d hoped he wouldn’t be found or bothered here so he hadn’t seen a point in casting a quieting charm. Obviously, he’d been wrong to assume that he wouldn’t be discovered, though as he heard someone approach. He stopped playing, looking up with a sigh. “Yes? Did you need something?”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ — juniper sighs pitifully at dominique , who seemed to be tearing apart the common room to find her PUFFSKIEN. setting down The Prophet , she replies ,“ sugar , I haven't seen your pet anywhere. my gravest apologies , but maybe you should be more ... responsible , ”

“Damn it!” Domi cursed under breath as she ran around the grounds, eyes scanning around for a big ball of fur. One thought was that her puffskein might’ve gone to the Forbidden Forest. There were tons of spiders in there, right? She didn’t know. Maybe not so much anymore. “Viridian! Oh Merl—hey!” she called out to someone, smiling tiredly. and hopefully. “You haven’t by any chance seen a puffskein… around. Have you?”
