theoldjusticiar replied to your photo: I apologize for being away for so long. I’ve had a...
Slight. So it appears.
I'm not fond of killing giants. I had to lure him away... but not before he killed all my chickens and my cow. /Sigh.

And still dead sexy. That's like... Magic.
This is getting ridiculous.

Psst. You are hot. Did you know?
I'm blind in one eye and half of my face is scarred.

Are you sure? You're already far away. Why would it cause problems to get in touch with your family?
Because I don't want to 'stir the pot', as the saying goes.Because I don't know what scares me more: if they were to ignore my letter or respond to it.

Do you ever write to your family? If not, why not?
I've thought about it. Perhaps, if I ever 'settle down' somewhere, I might. I'm... it's better, this way.

Did you find out you were Dragonborn before or after you left home?
Oh, much after. In some ways, I could care less that I am. There have been many Dragonborn over the centuries. And yet, I find myself... pleased. As far as I know, none of my siblings are as well.

So you said you got into a fight with your sister. What was it about?
The damnedest thing... I can't remember. When I recall it I can see her, I know we're screaming but I can't hear a thing. Our siblings were hiding under the kitchen table but watching, Elone was crying, and I remember throwing the first punch. Then I remember her grabbing the bottle and breaking it on my face.

Juno was in the mouth of the cave when she saw the piles. She jumped back and raised her bow a moment too late; magicka crinkled along the ground, stitching into the seemingly haphazard piles of broken human bones. The skeletons that stood did so lop-sided and incomplete. The Breton mage was not a necromancer, but in her desperation had tried her hand at the dark magic. Juno backed away, shooting one in the ribs to shatter the spell.
The other three still advanced, and from the cave a small, mousy woman ran forward. In her hands were charged lightning spells, and Juno dropped her bow in favour of drawing her sword.
"You're not Thalmor?" the woman gasped, looking the her up and down as she shattered another skeleton apart. Movement from the hill distracted Juno, who instinctively raised her shield.
Magelight. Lhaeben had seen its distinctive shimmer from the cavern mouth before he’d melted into the trees. This particular cavern, as he recalled, had carved itself into the side of a hill. There would be a point of vantage up top that would be of use. He was not much of an archer, but it wasn’t a bow he’d aim from there. Just a simple illusion to prevent the mage from fleeing. All provided, of course, that his hired assistant had the sense to draw their quarry out of their hole, rather than pursuing them down into it. His joints ached. Storm coming, he realized, though it was barely a thought as he crept over the mossy topside of the cavern. Looking down into the clearing, he saw Juno. A bow. Good. And she was advancing cautiously. Better. He was mindful not to conjure any magic. The smallest flicker would give him away, or worse, alarm his ally. He was in no mood to be shot at by mistake.

"Very well," Juno said. She watched the man take his leave, sneaking off into the trees until she could see him no longer. Then she started forwards once more, heading what she felt was south-east, until the clearing opened before her. She hid behind a tree and scanned the area before proceeding. There indeed was a cavern, carved into the open rock. She could see a glimmer of blue inside, the smallest indication of magicka. The elf's got a good memory, she thought. She sheathed her scimitar as quietly as possible, pulling her longbow off her back and notching an arrow into it. She moved into the clearing, holding the bow loosely before her, slowly edging towards the mouth of the cave.
Lhaeben glanced up… The day was darkening. He quickened pace; a chase in the dark, after this kind of fugitive would not be ideal. If he noticed Juno’s scrutiny, he gave no sign, other than the occasional glance. Not much for stealth, that one. Her steps were solid, heavy… Easy to track, if there was a need. But if that lost eye was any indication, it wasn’t likely that there were many who would want to catch her.
“There is a cavern, not far,” he said. “It opens into a clearing… If she has hidden there, the sight of me will incite her to flee, or attack. It will be easier to misdirect her, if you are first to break the treeline. I will… Take an alternate route.”

Juno was content to follow, using the time to examine her latest 'employer'. An old elf for sure; life and stress were thick in the lines of his face. The sword on his hip was of Elven make, with a custom-grip, likely to suit his long, gnarled fingers. The blade needed cleaning under the hilt, though the rest of it was sharp and fine. When they reached the trees she focused all her attention on their surroundings. Damn mages could come out of anywhere, could be hiding anywhere. Bretons were soft, though-- she wouldn't be in the trees, nor would she have buried herself. Likely, she was expecting the elf to catch up to her. Likely, she had an ambush set up. Spirit wolves, or if she was a necromancer, bones. Juno scowled. She hated necromancers.
“Likely,” Lhaeben agreed. He moved to the edge of the road and stooped. Sure enough… The grass was bent and broken, here. Someone had passed through, not long ago. Judging from the sweat on that horse, and its continued laboured breathing,  the mage would not have had long to find a hiding place. Not a month ago, he had cleared out a cave, perhaps ten minutes on foot. Dark, hidden by trees. Once used for Talos worship, and now used for nothing… Nothing, but a potential refuge for his quarry. “This way.” He beckoned for Juno, once again refusing to bother with explanations.

Why don't you get along with your sister?
I am the third of fifteen children, three of whom are deceased-- that I know of, anyway. Jalian is the eldest. As such, when we were children, she would leave me and my elder brother, Dom, to take care of our younger siblings while she went out to become a famous swordswoman. Or so she saw herself. Our disagreements as children turned into fist fights and then duels as we grew older. Our personalities have just... never meshed.
