this may actually be me overthinking things but hear me out:
Namaari has literal fangs. It's kinda cute, right? Fangs are in the mouth which are indirectly part of the head; and Namaari thinks. She's strategic.
Tong is the backbone of the group - the spine. He acts as sort of a caretaker as well but he isn't afraid to do what has to be done.
Noi and the Ongis - there's four of them. Raya found them in Talon, and what do dragons have? Four talons on their paws. They're sharp con artists and claws, or talons in this case, are sharp.
Raya is the one who opened her heart in order to trust Namaari to save the world. She is compassionate toward the person she hated for six years and that was not an easy task, proving to be the heart of the dragon.
Boun picks up Raya and Sisu after escaping from Tail. This one is a bit of a stretch, but tails are used for balance, for steadiness. Boun, as young as he may be, brought balance to the group by being who he was. Cooks provide that warm and hearty feeling, you know? Oh, he's also the get away guy and tails are useful for getting away, or something
All in all, the heroes of Kumandra are literally each part of Kumandra combined. That's why they were able to put the gem back together - because each of them had a piece of Kumandra inside of them.

I sometimes think that she, among all the Olympians, may be the mightiest of all. A crashing wave or thundering tempest are preferable to a broken heart.

not only do i support lil nas x appropriating characters and symbols from christianity to make horny, campy gay hip-hop videos, i think this sets the bar for lgbt media in the future. fuck that "were just like you!" respectability shit. i need all gay artists to make their work exactly as hostile and disrespectful to the christian right as the christian right has been to gay people for all of its history.

Thinking about how Orpheus singing “Where are you?” in the original Doubt Comes In is so personal and intimate and shows how desperate he is to hear his love, while “Where is she?” in the Broadway version really shows the disconnect between the two of them and how alone he feels as a result of this trial and everything that came before it,,,,, both very different energies but equally tragic and sob-worthy
