In ‘No longer you’ Odysseus doesn’t know who the man with a trail of bodies is, but I think he thinks it might be the infant. Through his entire journey, the gods seem like they act to spite him, would saving the infant be all that out of the question? Also, Zeus told Odysseus that the infant would grow up to slaughter the families of Greece, and we know Odysseus is thinking about killing the infant through the entire saga. Idk, all this is just a way of saying Odysseus is paranoid of a baby coming back from the dead to kill him.
