Additionally, we organized our repositories, setting up version control to streamline collaboration. Other technical setups, such as dependencies and environment configurations, were also addressed to ensure a smooth development process moving forward.

Today, we worked on preparing the necessary documents for our survey. We drafted a consent letter to inform participants about the purpose of the study, their rights, and how their responses would be used. Alongside this, we also created our survey questionnaire, carefully designing questions to ensure we gather relevant and accurate data for our research. We focused on clarity, structure, and ethical considerations to make the survey both effective and professional.

Today, we conducted a meeting to assign roles for our project, determining who would handle the front-end and back-end development, who would manage the database, and who would take on the role of project manager. We also discussed the overall flow of our project, ensuring that each team member understood their responsibilities and how different components would integrate. Additionally, we went over key objectives, potential challenges, and strategies for effective collaboration to keep the project on track.

Nothing much happened today. Our instructor primarily focused on discussing Software Engineering, covering its fundamental concepts, principles, and significance in software development. They explained how it involves systematic methodologies for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software to ensure efficiency, reliability, and scalability. The discussion also touched on real-world applications and best practices, emphasizing the importance of structured processes in creating high-quality software.

SDE WEEK 1: TOPIC PROPOSAL

During our brainstorming session, we explored two distinct topics for our proposal: a middleman system and a manual license plate recognition system. Both ideas addressed unique challenges and presented opportunities for impactful solutions.

The middleman system focused on creating a platform to streamline interactions between clients and service providers. This idea stood out for its potential to simplify transactions, improve communication, and build trust in scenarios where direct engagement may not be feasible or secure. It offered flexibility, as it could be applied to various industries, from freelancing to local commerce.

On the other hand, the manual license plate recognition system tackled a completely different problem. This idea aimed to provide an affordable and practical solution for identifying vehicles in areas with limited access to automated technologies. It offered significant value for traffic management, parking systems, and security applications in resource-constrained settings.

While both ideas were strong, we also encountered challenges. For the middleman system, ensuring transparency, trust, and scalability required careful planning. For the manual license plate recognition system, we needed to address potential inefficiencies compared to fully automated solutions while maintaining its affordability and reliability.

This session highlighted the strengths and challenges of each idea, giving us a clearer perspective on their feasibility and impact. Moving forward, we aim to finalize the topic that aligns best with our goals, practicality, and the resources available.
