But I figured I’d ask anyway. If anyone is interested in receiving my quarterly newsletter, send me an ask with your email. I’m sending it out tomorrow and want to make sure that everyone who wants it will be seeing it in their inboxes.

Okay guys, it’s been a few weeks of the new post style. What do we think? Should I keep it going? Try something new? Stop all together? Give me your feedback?

"Do not be afraid. I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord, your God…because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor, do not be afraid—I am with you!" - Isaiah 43:1-5

If the Lord had not helped me, I would have gone quickly to the land of silence. I said, 'I am falling'; but your constant love, O Lord, held me up. - Psalm 94:17, 18

For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.  16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.  17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

If we try to control everything in our lives, if we try to fix everything by ourselves, relying on our own very limited power, we will fail. There may be victory for a time, but it is through Jesus that we find true victory.

Most of the time when this verse is used, it is in relation to money. Hurts, habits, and hang-ups are just as relevant when it comes to this verse as well. If we put all of our time and energy into the things that weigh us down, we will be at war with God. We can’t follow Hom the way we should if we focus on the things that burden us.

God is never not there - He’s ALWAYS there. When we feel far away from Him, it is a separation on our part, not His.
Food for thought ~ Those times when we feel God is far away are very real, but they don’t have to be permanent. What can you do to draw closer to God?

How many of us pray prayers similar to, “Our father which art in heaven; give me, give me, give me?” It’s so easy to get caught up in the ways of the world, wanting more and more to try and fill our lives. The more “stuff” we have, the better our lives will be. But really, how true is that?
Food for thought ~ Selfishness is at the heart of most relational problems. In what ways have you been selfish?

Emptiness is a horrible feeling we all struggle with from time to time. It goes down deep and makes us feel hopeless. In Jesus, we have the promise of the fullness of joy, everlasting love, and sweet peace.
Food for thought ~ Do you struggle with feeling empty? As you work on your recovery, what are some new ways you’re finding to fill that emptiness?
