I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.

- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.

- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.

- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.

That's love. 🐈‍⬛🐈❤️

Critical Role Thoughts

Hi!

So, I recently started watching Critical Role and decided to make a habit out of sharing my thoughts as they come on my blog.

Reblogging posts is fun and all, but having something consistent—other than making Stray Gods memes and occasionally doodling and writing pieces—would make it more engaging.

I have a lot of projects planned for Stray Gods, but those are still in the works.

Since I've already played like 90% of the game, my thoughts aren't as fresh, and as a result, there's not much to say in terms of updates.

So, just like with Stray Gods, I'm going to post my thoughts that no one asked for.

And my first thought is that the concept of the fandom is really funny.

Actors? Playing D&D? A game commonly played by geeks and nerds, so not really something you'd picture celebrities doing.

I've played D&D before; it can be fun, although it may make you feel a little silly at first and embarrassed, depending on what you do on your first run.

I remember my first run; all my teammates kept running off to die, and I was just doing normal things.

The DM had to be all like, "Are you sure you want to go back to the house and not towards that light in the middle of the town square?" until I was like, "Forget it, I'll go there," and had to fight a tentacle mushroom monster with my teammates.

So, these actors make OCs to play as, and then the fandom watches them play and proceeds to make content such as fan art, memes, and fan fiction of said D&D series.

What's even funnier is the concept of fans of these actors' OCs being seen as attractive enough for people to ship and simp for them.

So essentially, the fandom is a fandom within a fandom, loving something made by other fans of the genre of the game?

That's hilarious and intriguing, to say the least. So, Critical Role has got my attention.

Although I've already watched a few episodes, I think the thoughts are fresh enough to start doing this.

So yeah, that's my introduction post. I'll be back with thoughts on the episodes I watched in a bit.
