Tales of Symphonia spoilers below (How does this work on Tumblr? Idk oops)
.
.
.
Okay, so I just recently finished Tales of Symphonia which was my first ever Tales game I ever played, and I had an amazing time with it. Learning the combat, the cooking system, the environments, the story all of it was really really good and I'm really glad I decided to give it a shot. I just wanted to talk about one of my favourite scenes in the game which is the coffee scene that looks pretty weird if you don't know the context for it. I think there's just something really heartbreaking about Lloyd learning how much being the chosen weighs on Colette. And the line: "Is it that hard for you to trust me?" really hurts because Colette doesn't know what's happening to her either, so to let anyone else know what she's suffering with pains her even further (plus the sad music kicks in at that point and it's like GOD). And as Colette tells Lloyd about what she's been through, Lloyd can only stutter in disbelief. When Lloyd asked why did she never speak up on it, she says that that's what she thought becoming an angel was, which aggravates him because he realizes that Colette becoming an angel means that she loses her humanity, so he tries to plead with her about how if this is something she truly wants. When Colette tries to bring up the positives about being an angel, she says: "And my hearing, too. I can hear even the faintest sounds really well. I can hear them so well that it's kind of painful sometimes." And at that point (at least to me) is when Lloyd realizes that Colette has been suffering for a while now, and all he can do is say: "I'm sorry. I didn't realize what was going on at all. I'm sorry." As he hugs her, crying and it's like OH MY GOODNESS THIS SCENE IS SO SAD ARGHHHH. AND THE LAST SCENE WHERE COLETTE SAYS: "I'm sorry Lloyd. Even though you're crying for me, and I'm happy, so happy I want to cry but I can't anymore." IS JUST SO TRAGIC GODDD. One of my favourite scenes in the game uncontested. I have some more favourite scenes that I might talk about later, but I desperately wanted to get this one out of my head after I finished the game.
Edit: Forgot to mention, but both the English dub and Japanese Sub are very good with the voice acting in this scene

I love Id (Serenity) from Fire Emblem Awakening
FE: Awakening is a title within the series that has slight contention for whether the game saved the franchise or not (Spoilers: Yes it did, as much as people would like to believe that people's interest in FE reignited after 5-6 years, that's not the case + the sales for PoR, RD & SD were poor due to bad marketing so oops). I myself like the game and find it to be good, but it's not the best in the franchise. However, I think Awakening has one of the best scores in the franchise and I just personally want to profess my love for "Id (Serenity)" because holy FUCK do I love this track. The accordion and piano duo makes such an unbelievably warm and soothing melody. Spoilers for Awakening's Final Boss The fact that this song plays when Robin decides to land the final blow against Grima is simply beautiful. Ik there are other songs in Awakening's OST library that are also really good, but this song to me is one of my favourites

My relationship with Splatoon
So, I have like, a really odd relationship with Splatoon. I remember when the first game came out back in 2015, my brother and I didn't care about it in the slightest. When the second game came out in 2017, I personally don't remember caring about it too much, but my brother tells me that he got it for me for my birthday because I actually did care about getting the game. Regardless, I did play the game for a grand total of only 35 hours. I didn’t play any of the story, participated in only a handful of splatfests, and that was about it. I didn’t even play Octo Expansion, which is what most people boast about being the best part about Splatoon 2, and I didn’t even participate during the final splatfest which was also a very important moment for players because whoever won would’ve decided the setting for the third game. And I think my biggest regret was not doing either during when the game was at its hype. Because yeah I could go back to Splat 2 to buy and play Octo Expansion, but the feeling is DEFINITELY not the same as if I were to play it back during when it came out. But I remember that one thing that kept my interest in the game even after I barely played it was the amount of fanart I saw on my Insta timeline. I remember liking all the art of the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, everyone else’s inklings and octolings, etc. And I’m really happy that happened because when Splat 3 was announced, I was ready to pick up the game and actually take an interest in it, and I did! The story mode for Splat 3 is really good, and I can't wait to keep having fun with the game, especially when more splatfests drop, and when the DLC is out.

Sidenote: I really miss some of those Instagram Splatoon artists, so many of them vanished out of thin air. It makes me sad I hope they're doing alright :(
