people always talk about “sam being insane” as some kind of “proof” that he’s obsessed with dean and wants to fuck him, but let’s be real, even the most unhinged of his actions definitely don’t show that he’s sexually attracted to dean. wincest is very much one sided from the romantic/sexual aspect (and i think it’s delicious! it’s much more interesting that way, because sam and dean are different and their perception of their relationship is also different!). sam doesn’t try to control dean’s life (including dean’s canon romantic relationships), he doesn’t make weird comments with blatant sexual subtext about dean, he doesn’t call dean “honey” while slapping his ass, he doesn’t view dean as his “wife”, he doesn’t feel ownership over dean

if anything, sam’s “attraction” to dean would be twisted combination of hero worship and (eventually) stockholm syndrome. and of course it’d be fueled by his guilt and self worth issues

Hello jonmund nation I can’t stop thinking about the way others (the nights watch, the free folk, ramsay etc) look down upon jon and tormund and how homophobic it feels like they didn’t need to write it this way

I can’t separate jon’s murder at the hands of the nights watch and their hatred of his empathy for the free folk in general from homophobia

because Thorne says things like “do you want to choose a man who’s been fighting the wildings all his life, or a man who makes love to them?” And yes, he is obviously talking about ygritte but the present tense and the way they bristle at jon’s closeness to tormund makes it way too easy to think that the nights watch is disturbed by them for more than one reason. Thinking about Jon being lured down into the courtyard and attacked for his “love of the wildlings” just ruins my brain chemistry

ALSO. There is a deleted scene between thorne and tormund that just makes this 10000X more impactful because tormund is essentially flaunting to thorne that jon will not let anything happen to him

AND in season 6 when jon reads ramsay’s letter which says “I will not trouble you or your wildling lovers” WHILE TORMUND IS SITTING RIGHT THERE??? LOVERS PLURAL???

that scene on its own is insane because the more uncomfortable jon gets and the angrier tormund does he starts to shift closer and is eventually in jon’s personal space responding strongly to the way jon is shifting in his seat and breathing heavily, and he is STARING DAGGERS into jon

as for the wildlings, their anger towards jon is expressed very often through homophobic ridiculing of his perceived femininity, calling him “pretty” as an admonishment (the person who calls Jon pretty before this is CRASTER) and this extends to tormund in the BIBLICAL scene where the lord of bones starts to mock tormund by asking if him and “the pretty crow” have sex implying that tormund is making himself sexually vulnerable for a crow.

tormund obviously reacts SO STRONGLY that he beats him to death right there, which can easily be played or laughs or like as a man he was just ultra offended by the idea someone would think that of him, but if there’s any vibe weve had from tormund so far I would not say they’d have us believe he would genuinely be that horrified by someone thinking that of him. to my deluded mind, his rage feels very much like someone who feels called out, like he IS attracted to Jon and hearing someone mock him for it is just too much.

When tormund later calls jon pretty, which has before only been said to him with venom, he says it with reverence and follows it up with praise of his ability.

chimney, of all people, made eddie come back just by... telling him to? and eddie was like “oh wow how didn’t i think of that.”

eddie and chris’ relationship? no development. is chris still mad? did they reconcile? did they even talk about the whole kim situation? it all happened off screen so we’ll literally never know.

bobby died. so what. i guess it’s just to remind us that maybe the main characters aren’t safe. okay? stupid

the wilsons adopting mara with absolutely zero setup the entire season.

buck moving out of eddie’s house,what even was the point of that whole storyline when it led absolutely nowhere.

okay. it’s not even about like whether or not buddie happened. it’s actually the fact that they literally spent SO much time this season focusing on buck and eddie’s relationship to the detriment of BOTH of them having coherent and developed storylines—cannot overstate that buck had NO STORYLINE this season except to be weird about eddie and eddie had TOO MUCH texas storyline that ultimately led nowhere—and then. didn’t follow through even ON THEIR RELATIONSHIP? EVEN THEIR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP? i said this before but “buck misses his best friend” is not. A PLOT. okay.

and this isn’t even touching the fact that. um. basically none of the characters did anything this season that led to anything for them because they were all these choppy self-contained one-offs—bobby? hotshots, then his mom showed up, then he died of ratpox. hen? brief confrontation with ortiz, denny nde with no consequences, everyone forgot her birthday, she decided she didn’t want to be captain. maddie? world’s shortest pregnancy and also kidnapped but she’s over it now. chimney? maddie’s short pregnancy and kidnapping and then bobby died and he was set up to become captain (WITH NO FOCUS ON HIS LEADERSHIP PRIOR???😭). athena? beenado plane crash, sparky the rookie, cart cop, then bobby died. buck and eddie are the only characters who actually had anything consistent happening across the season and it didn’t even end up being resolved. season 8 is watchable and in isolation most episodes are enjoyable for what they are but as a whole it’s disorganized and inconsistent and the storytelling is unsatisfying and that Sucks .

The show canonically acknowledging potential feelings for Eddie from Buck, having Buck and Eddie temporarily living together, having Buck be a little family with Eddie, Chris and Tia Pepa for one scene and having a huge press tour talking about Buddie, calling Buck Eddie’s love interest, posting buddie tweets to the main 9-1-1 account, ranking buddie moments, stating that they love playing into it…..

Idk what anyone says THAT.IS.QUEERBAIT.
