Hey so like, I know I am [checks watch] three days late, but I have two more fics that I was going to make for this event but ran out of time last week. Would it be alright if I still submitted them into this page sometime this week? (I’m still going to post them either way, I’m mostly just asking if you would wanna be tagged in them lol)

Also thank you so much for hosting this!! It has given me the excuse and motivation to finish some of the fics that had been wasting away in my drafts for at least a year, and I really appreciate you for that! :DD

Just wanted to say life has caught up to me and im probably not gonna finish the last fic i planned on doing, even late, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this event and how grateful I am to have participated in such a fun week!!!!!! I didnt reach my goal of a fic for every day but i got pretty dang close!!!!! And thats a win for me!!!

The Boy Who Has Everything.

14th: Gift Giving

Lint tries to get Troy a gift, but what do you get someone who has everything?

If there was one thing Lint learned after being friends with Troy Lougferd, it’s that he was filthy stinking rich.

And because of that he was absolutely impossible to shop for.

As he wandered around the stores in search of a gift all he could wonder was.

What do you get for the boy who has everything?

Usually the only things on Troy’s mind were steamsledding and winning, he didn’t talk about anything other than that from what Lint could remember.

Which made his spirits sink even lower.

Seriously, they had been friends for as long as Lint could remember and he didn’t know what in the world to get him!

At first they considered saving their paychecks up to get him a big expensive present, but that would be a lot of saving over time.

Then they considered just making something, but that would take a lot of time, and he’d have to hide it from Troy while it was being made.

So his third option was hit up the town and scour through the shops, looking for the most perfect gift for the most perfect boy.

Lint passed by a couple different gift shops, some selling steamsled team merch, others selling every single basic gift you could possibly imagine.

But this one couldn’t be another basic trinket, not if it was for Troy.

He deserved the absolute best that Lint’s gift savings could get.

And they would be damned if they didn’t try their hardest to find the absolute best, most incredible present he could get Troy.

He had to.

Ever since they’ve known each other, Troy has gone all out on presents for Lint, whether it be as simple as expensive chocolates just for fun or as stunning as a ginormous bouquet of his favorite flowers in a shiny crystal vase.

He would always claim it was nothing, that the candy store was on the way home or that some fan gave him the flowers, but that specific store was on the other side of town and the florist knows Troy by name.

And so Lint searched every nook and cranny of every store in the city but to no avail.

Things were either too expensive, too cheap, not cheap enough, or something Troy would absolutely hate. He couldn’t find one single prospective gift where all of his criteria for the perfect present fit.

He almost turned and went back home right then and there, but no, he was a boy on a mission and by cogs they were going to complete it.

With a newly formed pep in his step, Lint scanned and combed through every single shop in the general area for a gift they could proudly give to Troy.

And there it was, sitting in the illuminated window of a toy shop, a bright red plush lobster with shiny, beaded black eyes.

It reminded them of Troy.

It was perfect.

Lint rushed in and looked all over the toy, scrambling to check the price tag.

Their eyes widened and a smile spread across their face, it was only ten cogs.

He glanced around and snatched it, taking it to the counter and watching as the shopkeep gently wrapped up the gift like it was made of glass.

Once they paid, Lint skipped the whole way home, he really hoped that Troy would like it.

As he entered the dorm, the man himself was sat on the couch, seemingly flipping a cog out of boredom.

Lint bounced on his heels a little before making their way over to the steamsledder.

“Oh dude! You’re back!” Troy looked over and toothily grinned, which sent butterflies to Lint’s stomach.

“Mhm! Andddd I got you something! Take a look!”

Lint passed the bag over and watched as the blonde rummaged through it and pulled out the lobster plushie.

“…What’s this for broski?”

“Just to show you I appreciate you, man! Sorry it’s not like, what you’re used to, I couldn’t figure out what to get you haha!” Lint awkwardly added, chuckling to relieve some of the tension.

Troy just stared blankly at the plushie, blinking twice before smiling a bit, his voice going softer.

“Aw dude, you didn’t have to do this.”

The redhead widely grinned, “Well, I wanted to! You’re always getting me really pricey gifts so I thought this can be like a way to say thank you for all that!”

Troy just kept staring into the plushie’s eyes for a bit before he brought Lint in for a strong armed bear hug.

“You didn’t have to do this man, but, thanks or like whatever.”

The ginger haired man squeezed Troy back, a bit confused now.

Did he not actually like it? Was this his way of telling them that their gift choice was bad?

“I’m sorry man, do you want me to like, go return it? I’ll do that if you want!”

The steamsledder violently shook his head no and just held Lint closer.

“It’s just really nice man, I freaking love it!”

Lint buzzed happily and smiled, “Well, I’m glad! After all you’ve done for me and gotten for me, I thought it was high time I got you something in return!”

Troy huffed, squeezing him tighter, “You don’t have to get me stuff in return man, I’m Troy freaking Lougferd! I get you gifts because I like, wanna and stuff- I don’t know!”

Lint just let him take a quick moment to breathe, taking in how occasionally their chests would rise and fall in perfect unison.

“I really like the gift man, like, I really like it. But I do things for you because I want to, you’re my number one!”

Lint chuckled a little, “And you’re my number one, always dude!”

Troy mimicked Lint’s laugh and rested his head on theirs.

Everything was perfect.
