I saw a twitter ship pool for CXS&LG on "who is more likely to do what", and when it comes to being the best cook, I guess the canonically better cook of the trio* wasn't winning by slandslide bc in non-strictly canon material, LG cooks more (manhua, audio drama)

That does give the opportunity to think of how they possibly approach cooking, tho.

Like, LG is methodical. He probably won't do a phenomenal job at it (it's part of his whole "having no special skills is a skill"), but he's the type who follows a recipe. He probably does pretty decent, tasty even. Meanwhile, CXS didn't have people in his life who were willing to teach so he's likely mostly self-taught. He did have to fend for himself from early on, so he probably learned to make food he finds delicious (from the way he got inspired by the noodle lesbian's recipe, he seems to be a quick learner when it's hands-on)

Speaking of, it's cute how LG's and CXS' yingdu's profile differs a little from their current ones. In his likes, CXS doesn't yet lists "cooking" as the present him does, nor does LG lists "eating" as his current one~

-In this AU, this is their first kiss, hehe, a very emotional reunion!!

-Cxs caught up in the moment, asks if he can marry lg instead of ql to which lg whole-heartedly agrees since they've been harboring feelings for each other for a while, but they need to first save Lu Guang's kingdom

-This will be difficult, though, because the actual state of Lu Guang's kingdom is unknown since he was the acting ruler (he took over when his grandfather passed in this AU but he was still rather young) but the kingdom shut its borders to outsiders with his 'death' so Ql and Cxs kingdom don't know what's going on and can't enter.

-This is all part of the plan of the faction of nobles (probably Liu Xiao, Li Tianchen, Vein (Haven't decided on Xia Fei yet) who didn't like Lu Guang in charge or the idea of merging the kingdoms under him, they each have their own motives however but came together to overthrow the throne. (Still thinking through this)

-Lu Guang kind of has a vague idea of what's going on because he can use magic to scry, (however while he can use magic, he's not as powerful of a sorcerer and only really knows basic spells but excels at scrying in general).

-He can not break his own spell however, and the spell messes with his own abilities making it harder to maintain a scrying session.

-Cheng Xiaoshi, of course, promises to help Lu Guang save his kingdom and take back the throne however because his kingdom is closed off and he can't enter due to his status as a royal ward, they need to come up with a plan

-At some point, later in the timeline, Cheng Xiaoshi's involvement is found out and he is also cursed as a swan kind of bringing them back to square one

I'm looking forward to the epic asian "sasuri bouma confrontation" between lg and syy in season 3.

"Amr chhele k kheye nilo ei rakkhoshi(cxs)" probably said by lu guang's parents.

And "tui kake bechhe nibi tor maa baba na tor bou" conversation between cxs and his mom. Asian drama is incomplete without them fr😔

If director Li doesn't give us this imma throw hands-

whatever direction link click ends up taking I kind of hope it remains a story that wrestles with grief. For a story about time travel , time loops, all that can be so exciting to think of twists and turns and mystery. But it’s also a story about photographs , and photographs are just…the epitome of grief. The love and the pain and the longing and the acceptance of it is all there when you hold a photograph of someone or some time that is no longer in your life, for whatever reason.

I won’t know what they plan until we get to s3 and I’ve been entertained by yingdu, but with all the extra new mysteries and direction they taking I just…really would love for the story to continue embracing the human experience of love and grief. It’s what made this story so special.

The fact that Lu Guang basically commits murder for Cheng Xiaoshi's sake feels so entirely in line with his character after we've SEEN him be extremely violent when Cheng Xiaoshi was shot in season 2, when we see how after a theatre is ablaze Lu Guang's only running thought is over Cheng Xiaoshi's safety. How Lu Guang will continuously pick Cheng Xiaoshi over logic or reason. Seeing his manic micro-smile at Vein quite literally sent shivers down my spine because that moment was SO EARNED.

The way I cringe when people call Shiguang moments "fanservice" like..what the hell, sure. But they are important moments for the story okay? Right? Right??
