My best friend's name is Ana

And we talk every day

She tells me about her dreams for us

About how we can finally be okay

We talk on the daily

She's persistent, stubborn too

Our talks keep me from eating

They would do the same to you

She tends to show me pictures

of myself, they're hard to see

Me at me worst, me at my lowest

Someone i do not want to be

Ana wants to help me

She says so all the time

She even counts my calories

(but don't worry, i am fine)

She even made me realise

I actually don't need food

It's just part of an addiction

(really, i am good)

She showed me her essentials

Which is just diet coke and tea

Everything else's unnecessary

(don't you worry about me)

Restriction is control

Satisfaction is a weakness

But it's all good and normal

(but do please keep it secret)

It's just a couple pounds

Losing that is all i need

And i promise that i'll stop then

(unless i can go lower and succeed)

Ana's just a buddy

She's coming to my aid

And it's really just a hobby

(though sometimes i'm afraid)

It's not like i am sick

It's all under control

Again, i've got it covered!

(it might be swallowing me whole)

Just let me do it my way

Just a little thinner

There's nothing wrong with that

(i just threw away my dinner)

Ana told me we're the same

She will help me through this phase

We can do this thing together

(i haven't eaten in two days)

So just wait for the results
