Thinking about birthdays. Imma Gemini I won't say when my birthday is.

I don't celebrate my birthday with others. Nor do have expectations that others will celebrate me.

This isn’t a woe is me post this just something l've learned about myself, birthdays and celebrating milestones.

When I was younger I used to get so sad when my birthday would come around. I had high expectations in my childhood. I thought everybody had big plans or production for their birthday. It was very underwhelming. I'm not saying I wasn't thankful for the few gift or occasional birthday dinners. Bday dinners outside didn't happen yearly. Parents were busy. Things happen.

Yearly I just had high expectations. I'd get asked what I wanted for my birthday or what do I want to do. Because the introvert in me doesn't like being around a lot of people, I don't like parties.

My answer would always be along the lines of saying experiences or trips.

Up until I started taking my birthday trips I didn't care for my birthdays.

I found a love for solo traveling during that time and it didn't have to be my birthday for me to dip off to another city or country.

I learned a lot about myself in general. Biggest learning experience for me was I learning to lose my expectations in others and focus on celebrating myself however I see fit.

That's when I really started enjoying my birthdays.

Covid hit and the world went on pause. I couldn't go anywhere on my birthday. I understood but it didn't stop me from getting upset. I got in a birthday funk, for the 1st time in a few years.

I was back outside the following 2 years. But something clicked mentally between Covid and those 2 following bday trip. I was running away.

The mentality I gained on my birthday trips I need to have that at home. Do things I enjoy here.

Celebrate myself however I want to here. Lose my expectations on others and just do me however I see fit. My birthday isn't about anyone else but me.

I'm happier on my birthday because of this.

The way I see birthdays now is; my birthday is an ode to myself. Forget everyone else. If they show up for me and show out for me awesome. Still celebrate myself on my own accord 1st. Everything else is extra.

I’m taking this walk for mental health. But I’m so tired.

I got less than 2 hours of sleep yesterday between shifts.

It’s my fault. I truly can fall asleep with ease but the key to me staying asleep or being able to fall back asleep between maybe waking up to go to the bathroom or drink water. Is to take care of my needs, get back in bed and ignore the phone. I put it on dnd. I only take a quick peek at my phone for repeat callers, could be an emergency.

However It slip my mind that I was expecting a package. So when I woke up for 1 of my needs, Amazon notified me my package was out for delivery and nearby.

So I waited. I should’ve made other arrangements to the originally order so I wouldn’t have to be up. Packages can grow feet and I don’t be in the mood to knock on different neighbors doors.

So all that to say I struggled falling back to sleep yesterday.

No shame I nodded a little during my shift. 🤞🏾 that carries me through my hike home then some.

Can’t be lazy whenever I get in. I gotta take care of my maintenance the next few days. I wanna be get cute for me for my birthday.

So threading today. Hair tomorrow. Nails Friday. I’m not sitting up under my hair lady tomorrow with whiskers peach fuzz.

My relief should be here soon.

I still got it 🥳🥳, low key shocked I made my 5.5 mile walk in so close to 2 hours. I haven’t had much of any motion once the cold weather hit last fall. This is a great start to my walking season, let’s go summer ‘25.

It’s a seasonal body butter. Probably won’t be able to find it in Trader Joe’s after June. So I’ll be grabbing at least one every other TJ store run.

I’m trying to have some restraint and not buy too many at once because I have other lotions and butters in rotation.

New kindle case

I read just about every day. I had this device since 2019. I need to get back into reading from this over the kindle app on my phone. Bigger screen and less distractions. Plus my job recently blocked users from logging into certain websites, like Amazon. Which took away the Amazon web reader.. 🗣️boo 🍅🍅

I rather read then scroll mindlessly during downtime. So I had find, dust off and charge my kindle paper white. When I finally found it the other day; the case was cracked. Yea that won’t do …sooo upgrade

Started it yesterday. It’s so good I’m 80% done, it’s claiming I got 2 more hours of reading.

I gotta Zelle that I thought was a request 🤦🏾‍♀️. I just woke up from a 4ish hour nap. Phone was on dnd. The 1st thing I did when I woke up was check if my any of my parents was trying to reach me. That’s when I saw the Zelle notification.

For about 5 minutes I was ready to tussle with my oldest sister. I read the situation wrong. She sent me munyun to hold because at her big age she doesn’t trust herself. She’s 50
