Reflection Writing

This statement is a reflection of my learning about my design process with my typeface. When I first learned this tool, I felt it was tough to work the design, and I never knew Photoshop had many animation tools before, but after learning and practicing it, I think I am interested in it. Frame x frame and video mp4 have their characteristics, in my opinion, so I think I enjoyed it, and I tried to show those different tools' merits and features. Sometimes, I felt the limits of each of that tools, so I struggle with how can I design to show their benefit. So I used the keyboard dimension with the GIF as the best tool when the keyboard animation popped up. And typography slides on, and down techniques with GIF look clean with the tween tool. The details of the website and phone open application animations have to design with the animation tool, so I used the timeline with the video rendering. I used the smart object with the video render to transform the zoom-in and zoom-out animation for each animation's focus. With this assignment, I learned lots of techniques with the animation tool Photoshop and knowledge of the frame rate. I wanted to show the typeface with lots of different animations, so I worried I did not show enough typeface characteristics. But all the animations, buttons, and small details are all the Open Sans-based design, so I think my design shows enough of my purpose, so I am happy to finish my assignment with those new tools.

Rationale Writing

I designed this assignment's GIF and Mp4 animation to show the Open Sans. I used Illustrator and Photoshop for this assignment. I used the last assignment's dimensions and formats the relate the idea. In this assignment, I focused on the details and wanted to show my idea with the techniques, so I used lots of animation skills with actual size dimensions, time, and formats. Animation with the actual dimension of the phone, I screenshot lots of animations when I open the phone and open the application because I want to relate with the "Open Sans" open and show that Open Sans is the optimized font for the mobile. I got positive feedback with the keyboard GIF, so I focused on making it simple but showing how Open Sans is the optimized font for mobile. For the GIF, I used a tween tool for smooth animation and tried to control the delay time for the quality. I used more time for the Mp4 animations because I wanted to show my idea of web and mobile with Open Sans. I got feedback on making some Open Sans design website format design, so I designed the menu bars, scroll bar, and animation with Open Sans for the home design and put the logo for looks actual website. Also, for the website, I put the anatomy page to show the Open Sans anatomy because I got feedback that I have to think of using typeface more and more. After the feedback, I put the patterns with the animation; after the application opened its animation, I used Open Sans for all the buttons of keyboards, turned off controls, and all the small details. For the animations, I rendered the video for the parts of detail because I used the convert to the smart object video and the zoom in and out technique to focus on the animations with the font. I used the guidelines for the details between when the font goes in and goes out with the tween tool.

Format

I used the format from the specimen for the animation, I want to show the glyph and alphabet together so I used the same format but different colour background for the seperate.

Last Gif

I want to do the last gif looks simple with the keywords of open sans so I picked the keywords from the google font. I want to make some relationship between the font so I just stick together for the so I sketch with the tablet.

First GIF

It is not final one kind draft thing. I want to show the Italic, regular, and glyph with mobile keyboard for show out this phone is great font for the mobile display.

Mobile keyboard dimension

I made mobile keyboard dimension with Open Sans. For the detail I compare with the real keyboard size. I put the my colour swatch for relate my last specimen idea. Also I put the small detail for the capital letter, small letter, pressed the shift button and backspace button too.

Ideation with feedback

My another idea is show my typeface with web uiux but I got the feedback make some introduce typeface website. I think it is really good idea to show my typeface with information. I will put some menu bar’s with the anatomy, weight, glyphs, information,
