in the same way that when attempting a hard boss fight, you don't restart every time you make a mistake (as tempting as it is);
you wait until you're defeated to start again, because sometimes, an attempt that you deemed botched at first is the one that will lead you to victory.
Art is a sport
One common thing I see among artists who are just starting out is that they are very precious about their work -- ironically, way moreso than experienced artists. They need to get every line JUST right, because in their mind, getting that line just right is what stands between the piece being bad and it being good. I was like that too, for so long that I'm still struggling to catch up because of how it hampered my progress.
Being precious about every line is kind of like a track sprinter starting a run, but then restarting every time their foot lands in any slightly suboptimal way. This is comes off as silly, because we know that the "unit" of what they are doing is a sprint, and that they would make their greatest progress by finishing the full sprints, because that's how they train.
Well, similarly, the "unit" of art is a finished piece. What stands between the sprinter and the time they want isn't 1 individual step, but 1000 sprints. What stands between the beginner artist and making art they like the look of isn't that 1 line, but, i'm sorry to say, 1000 pieces.
Taking note of any mistakes you made afterwards is something done by both the experienced artist and experienced sprinter -- this is healthy and helps you improve. But you can do that later, after you're done.
That line is good enough.

"Witchcraft, is a all about belief. I could very well bend reality backward with a snap of my fingers, but that would not be plausible, would it ? It wouldn't be very satisfying, either [...]"
"Egregores, rituals, pacts, all of it is about justifying effect; our feeble minds cannot comprehend such power as omnipotence, we therefore invent the powers though which we exert it. This, is the essence of Witchcraft. But it is also the essence of *god* [...]"
"In a similar fashion, the human mind cannot comprehend the idea of change. Not slow, progressive growth from a state to another, but pure, unadultered, change. Chaos incarnate. So, they need to be put aside; protected inside of mindscapes of their own. [...]"
"Playing the strands of a tapestry, is not kind on the mind. And whenever I place my fingers on the strings of the world, i find i cannot recognise my own voice; fragmented, expanding, changing."
(note : i am in no way an expert in witchcraft or paganism, this is merely quotes from an OC i made)
Friendly reminder to all my witchy and pagan friends and neighbors that Not Everyone Does Witchery The Same Way.
Not everyone will use components or methods or rituals in the same way. Not everyone subscribes to the same beliefs or traditions or even uses of common materials. Not everyone will do the same sorts of magic or consider the same things integral to their craft.
THIS IS NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE.
No matter how long you've been studying or practicing or what your level of expertise is, you're going to have to accept that other practitioners will do things differently. It doesn't matter if it matches up with what you believe or what you've been taught. And rather than insisting on one's own infallibility or arguing over points of meaningless minutiae, a prudent witch will take the opportunity to learn something.
(Obviously, this does not apply in situations where one encounters bigotry or predatory behavior or misinformation/disinformation that could cause actual harm. But if you're going to argue with someone over whether the particulars of their craft work the way YOU think they should, you're wasting everyone's time.)

✨New item!✨ Blade of Grass  Weapon (scimitar), legendary (requires attunement)
The razor-sharp grassy blade of this sword is able to slash with uncanny precision. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. When you have advantage on an attack roll to hit with the sword, you can roll one additional d20 and choose which of the 3 dice to use. The sword can wrap itself around your wrist, becoming a grassy bracelet when you’re not wielding it, or return to your hand at will (no action required).
Sweeping Strike. As an action while wielding this sword, you can make a broad slash to hit multiple targets. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Grass Arm. As a bonus action while the sword is being worn as a bracelet, you can cause it to grow and wreath your entire arm in a grassy mass up to the shoulder. The grass takes the shape of a brawny arm, rippling with vegetal vigor and thistly thorns. This grass arm grants you the following benefits:
You have a +10 bonus to Strength checks that involve the grass arm.
Unarmed strikes made with the grass arm have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls, and deal an extra 3d4 piercing damage to targets you hit with it.
The hand of this arm can transform into a blade or back into a hand at will (no action required). This jagged blade functions as the Blade of Grass, however the sword’s reach is increased by 5 feet and it deals an extra 3d4 piercing damage to targets hit by it.
You gain 10 temporary hit points at the start of each of your turns. If you take fire damage, this property doesn’t function for your next turn.
The grass arm lasts until you complete a short or long rest, or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. Once Grass Arm has been used, it can’t be used again for 2d10 days.
Curse. The Blade of Grass will always reappear wrapped around your wrist when you complete a long rest. Each time you use Grass Arm after the first, the grassy mass engulfs more and more of your body while the effect is active. The fifth time you use Grass Arm, make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the grass entirely covers your body and takes control of your mind. You become a hostile chaotic evil NPC under the control of the GM. You retain your statistics with these alterations:
You permanently benefit from the effects of Grass Arm, which now applies to all of your limbs. The temporary hit points bestowed by this effect is increased to 20 at the start of each of your turns.
You are considered a Plant in addition to your normal creature type.
Your Strength score becomes 24 and your AC can’t be less than 18, regardless of what kind of armor you’re wearing.
Any creature within 5 feet of you that touches you or hits you with a melee attack takes 2d4 piercing damage.
If you are reduced to 0 hit points, the controlling effect ends and the sword reverts to its bracelet form. Each subsequent time you use Grass Arm, you must repeat the saving throw to resist being controlled again. - 🖌🎨 Like our work? [chose yes]
those two aren't mutually exclusive
you can absolutely have a job that you love but will have to stop doing for your mental health
if you feel it's too much, continue to enjoy it while you start preparing to find a job you can do in the long term
also you can totally do art as a hobby, and it won't be any less meaningfull (it just won't contribute to your bills)
I really love my job, it's almost always highly stressful but meaningful.
But I'm getting a little bit afraid that if I keep improving my mental health and cleaning my house up then I won't be able to bear keeping my job. I just want to be an artist.
Do I actually love my job?

beauty and sex appeal are subjective.
no matter who you are, people will find you attractive
i just hope those people include you
I say this as a tgirl with like, a pretty decently sized cock and who's been off hrt long enough to have sizable cumshots again: Posts about hung tgirls and tgirls shooting ropes and fat loads are just getting annoying. Most trans women experience sizable shrinkage on hrt, have various issues around cumming, and are pressured into comptop. If the only context you talk about trannies in is glorifying their dicks I'm rolling my eyes at you behind your back

actually, given trans women are women, doing this would actively DECREASE the security for women
Tumblr media
For almost no increase in security for women, the trans community would be made to feel even more vulnerable and marginalised.
