Today we celebrate World Rhino Day. These creatures are magnificent to see and continue to be critically endangered because of poaching. Their only predator are humans, who kill them for their horns, which are worth almost $10,000 per pound - even though the horns are the same substance as our fingernails. It could not be World Elephant Day without my sharing an image of my boy, Kibo. He was 6 weeks old and newly rescued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
