In order to be able to play the music and playlist, they're getting burned onto a CD and played from my CD player in front of the rest of the project work I have set up. The concept sketchbook I've been working into for the entire project period is also available to be looked through.

I used the riso machine to put through the front and back of The Printmaker Playlist album art in order to mess around with colors and color combinations, and choose the best one for the final coverwork of the album. These images put side by side in such vibrant colors reminded me of Andy Warhol's painting of Marilyn Monroe.

This is the front and back of the official Redrum merch (and the only one to exist, at the moment.)

I chose a few designs, including the album cover artwork for The Printmaker Playlist, to put onto a screen with the intentions of making Redrum merch. The skeleton design was chosen by someone who saw the first two shirts I printed and wanted that specific design on a shirt of their own, and so that request inspired me to base the shirt design around that.
I included a series of interpretive drawings I did a while ago, general drawings not linked to any specific song.

Gallery visit
I went to the second year's painting exhibition, that was also an awards ceremony for a competition that the Hunt Museum in Limerick was hosting, to do with the environment. It was an open call competition, and the winner Marija created a customizable lino block that one can use to make a bookmark. It is my favourite bookmark.

I was finally able to collect most the drawings from my peers and create a collage of all of their work together. The collage made for the background of the album cover, the main bit of the art, and I created a second layer with the title 'The Printmaker Playlist' with the intentions of putting it through the riso machine.
Additionally, I chose an 'alter-ego' name, Redrum, as I have recently seen Kubrick's 'The Shining' on the big screen with a friend. We were discussing the movie afterwards, and I joked, "Would you listen to a band called Redrum?".

National Gallery, Dublin
I had the privilege to see some of the works in some of the sections of the Irish National art gallery in Dublin. Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh were all on display, and until today, some artists I had never seen face-to-face. It was a brilliant experience and gave me more drive to be in the studio space and be around my materials.

NCAD Gallery Visit
In the day off after finishing with CCS lectures, some calssmates and I ventured up to Dublin to look at the NCAD student's exhibit on a museum grounds. It was a different experience compared to the types of galleries and exhibitions I've been to before, but worked well for me since there was mostly interpretive work around the place.
In particular, a video that played in a room through a projector with dried seaweed all over the walls was one of the most striking pieces. The general opinion when walking about of the exhibit wasn't one of admiration, but to me, like Kandinsky's paintings, it was validating of the work that I've done that should soon come to fruition. This was a visual and audible exhibit, which gave me even more to work with in terms of broadening my horizons when it comes to what art 'should' look like.

Gallery Visit
I went to visit the second year's printmaking gallery, to get a sense of what it is that I'll be working towards next year and to get to talk to some of the experienced students on what their experience has been like in the discipline. In general, I was inspired and in awe knowing that next year, my work might be in such a classy place with so many people around to look at my art.

In the last stretch of this project, I've started thinking about the album cover for the soundtracks that I've been working on with altered audio recordings. In my sketchbook, I collected and kept adding things from my life over the last few weeks as a collage of my life, in a sense. Train tickets, images of tattoos I've gotten, more interpretive art, sketches, etc...
All of it comes together to create a sort of visual interpretation of my experiences. This collage inspired me to create my own musical identity for this project, to create a sort of 'mock alter-ego'. Like how Bowie was Ziggy Stardust, Donald Glover is Childish Gambino, Prince was Camille. They were the same person, but their work had to do with the identity they were presenting. It was like a temporary life, the artist I will become by the end of the project will only be about 2 months old. The experiences I've had in those two months are all that contributes to the content of my work.

Workshop Development
Using the etched copper plate, I printed using black ink and a press onto paper, and one print done with tissue paper in the colors of the Jar of Flies album cover; black, red, and yellow.

In this workshop, I learned that there is a good value for color in print making and in work to do with music.

Workshop - Electroetching
Using copper plates, wax, sharp tools and a copper sulphate bath with 2 watts of voltage, I etched out an interpretive drawing based off of Alice in Chain's song 'Nutshell' from their 1994 album 'Jar of Flies'. The drawing on the copper plate is the same concept as the one I did in the first risograph with The Dead Pirate's most popular song.

Concept Development
After collecting the drawings and songs from my peers, I did some collage work with 6/13 drawings to test out how I can get all of their art to work together to create an album cover. I also did some interpretive drawing, much like the work done in my first risograph, to do with each of the songs they chose.

Concept Development
From the idea of creating a class playlist and album cover to go with, I started thinking about producing my own sound. I don't know anything about producing music, but using an app called Koala Sampler, I took tracks from things that I encountered throughout my day or audios from videos taken during important moments in my life, and I meshed them up and mixed them around. I plan to make a few tracks using these sounds to be able to make a whole album.
