Hi! Just curious, in your headcanon, what does Ivan fear the most? What does he want the most?

Hi!

My Ivan is afraid to be left alone with no one at his side. He doesn't mind solitude as long as there are people he can drink tea with, but he doesn't do well being completely alone - as Ivan, not Russia. Also he is a bit afraid of frogs (he thinks you can get warts from frogs and toads) and intensely dislikes brown bears.

He wants warm seas, lmao. All his history is a journey in search of beaches. In all seriousness - he wants safety and stability the most. At his thousand+ years of living he obsessively wishes to be completely calm and safe.

Unpopular opinion but the most popular fanfics are not overrated. The nature of fanfic is that it’s always underrated. Even the most beloved authors do not get enough love. In many cases they attract hate by being loved, even. And yes ‘small’ authors deserve 100 times more love. But it’s not a contest of repression. Reminder that fic authors are real people who can read your criticism of the works they put hours and days and weeks and months of their time in, for free, for love.

i think the most annoying part about riftan is how people in the fandom treat him 😭 like, most of the fandom seems to either hate his guts or wants him to be in their guts. i just don't get it

hey these are some tips for some of the little details in drawing fat folks that some people might not know!

everyone has fat on their bodies so its a worthwhile skill to have, but most art tutorials leave it out. heres some other good tips from artists!!

character-centric stories you can write in 1K or less

where did they get that shirt they wear in that one scene?

what is their typical morning routine?

what song got stuck in their head when they were in the grocery store just now and how do they feel about that?

what would happen to a houseplant in their care?

they're talking a 5 hour flight in economy class and they paid to choose their seat - which one do they go for?

how do they achieve a fully-assembled piece of IKEA furniture?

how would they deal with a malfunctioning computer?

what gives them ASMR - and is it a pleasant or unpleasant feeling?

what helps them fall asleep at night?

how do they behave when they have a bad cold? allergies? a migraine?

they have accidentally caused a fire - how did they do it and how do they react to it?

they are at the club - is this a good situation for them?

what is their opinion of street performers?

which social media platform(s) they use and which they hate

how do they feel about the idea that the tomato is a fruit?

where do they stand on Pluto, vis a vis its planetary status?

what would they do for a Klondike bar?

what kink did they learn about by accident on the internet, and they don't have it but they get it

who is their celebrity crush?

who is their small-time personal nemesis, separate from any big bad in the show (think neighbour, coworker, mail carrier etc.) and why do they hate them so much?

what is the last greeting card they bought? what occasion, who did they give it to, and what was the message inside?

what have they been putting off forever, even though it will only take 10 minutes?

I turn 30 next month so here’s what I learned in my 20s:

—don’t work for startups, they’re always one ‘innovative idea’ away adding ‘sell your kidneys on the black market’ to your job description.

—keeping a collection of basic OTC medicine on you will save your life one day. I recommend Advil, Imodium, and TUMS.

—those little single-use glasses cleaning wipes are 1000% worth the money

—overly self-depreciating jokes just make people uncomfortable, wean yourself off of them

—you can buy dehydrated mini marshmallows in bulk online and they’re a godsend for hot cocoa

—people don’t care if you have fidget toys on your desk they just want to play with them

—try to go to bed BEFORE the existential ennui kicks in

I have collected (almost) every Maxi outfit so far in Under the Oak Tree, because the artist uses her as a dress up doll and that's a good thing. Through this process I have drawn the following conclusions:

- her most frequently worn colors are a shade of burgundy very close to her hair and various shades of forest green. The hair-toned burgundy seems to be the color Riftan always chooses for her, when he picks out her outfits. And most of her dresses and jewelry have gold accents, she doesn't wear much silver

- she prefers pearls over most other gems for jewelry. She also really likes dangly belt chains

- bright yellow is the least flattering color on her, in my opinion, whereas pale blues, greens, and pinks suit her beautifully. We only see her wearing pink once in a mini illustration, which is a shame because it looks great on her

- as she's grown into her role as lady calypse she's definitely gotten more comfortable experimenting with clothing, wearing bolder colors and jewelry. Her signature 'take charge' color is a bright cobalt blue

- there is a VERY STRONG negative correlation between the height of her necklines and her proximity to Riftan. Specifically when Riftan isn't around she likes to wear a kind of white turtleneck thing under a lot of dresses, but she immediately ditches that when he gets back
