11 मई, 1998 को पोखरण में आयोजित परमाणु परीक्षण को याद रखने के लिए राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह भारत के सभी नागरिकों के लिए गर्व का विषय था। यह दिन हमारे दैनिक जीवन में विज्ञान के महत्व की भी प्रशंसा करता है। 1998 में 11 और 13 मई को जब भारत ने राजस्थान के पोखरण में पांच परमाणु परीक्षण किए थे। प्रारंभिक पांच परीक्षण 11 मई को आयोजित किए गए थे जब पास के भूकंपीय स्टेशनों में 5.3 रिचटर स्केल के भूकंप को रिकॉर्ड करते समय तीन परमाणु बम विस्फोट किए गए थे। 13 मई को दो परीक्षणों को बनाए रखा गया, तब से भारत में राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी दिवस मनाया जाता है।

कृष्ण भक्त संत सूरदास का जन्म वैशाख महीने के शुक्लपक्ष की पंचमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है। जो कि इस साल सूरदास जयंती के रूप में 28 अप्रैल यानी आज मनाया जाएगा। हिन्दी साहित्य में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के उपासक और ब्रजभाषा के महत्वपूर्ण कवि महात्मा सूरदास का जन्म 1478 ईस्वी में रुनकता नामक गांव में हुआ।
