I think blueberry’s late s3 character arc is the only time character development has made a character worse in my eyes. he was better when his only character trait was being sad. Like I feel like he got fleshed out but in all the wrong directions

if the isats were in a typical object show setting who would make it the farthest ..
#Mirabelle would get a hard earned win after an emotional roller coaster of an arc#Odile would get SO SO CLOSE but her downfall would be going too far w/ social manipulation#Isabeau would be a really good asset & do good in physical challenges but would get used as a pawn by other contestants &#he would be too hesitant to attempt any social manipulation himself. When he finally stands up for himself he gets voted out#Siffrin is the type to be in every season but still lose every time. Has to learn to escape the show. Gives good advice though#Bonnie gets immunity super often and evades most social manipulation. Doesn’t win but does super well and better than others expected.#Basically they don’t win but are ultimately fine with it because they manage to prove themself in the game#Loop host or bust#isat#ok wait edit more on Sif:#he understands the game and strategies super well#but he gets too invested in his friends. he can come up with insane strategies and give them to others but he’s too hesitant to use them fo#himself. and it’s his downfall every time

hfjone's ending: intentionally written to be hopeless and depressing while also being open-ended and leaving many questions unanswered. the story was always about ordinary people who think they can change the world but are ultimately unable to face off against the complexity of the universe and how expendable they are within it. the universe is chaotic and random and things happen without any reason or explanation even things that completely destroy your life and sanity. there was no reason it "had" to be liam it couldve been anyone. airy didnt care. why did he have to be the one who died in a car crash that day? the universe doesn't care. life is messy and in the end nobody truly won
inanimate insanity's ending: intentionally written to be kinda campy and trope-filled bcuz inanimate insanity has always been a love letter to the media that inspired it. mephone's story was ultimately about love and creativity and growth as a person. he deserves another chance to have a happy ending and the contestants deserve a chance to decide for themselves who they are and what inspires THEM creatively. if the ending was mephone going back to cobs and the contestants all being dead it would fundamentally go against the show's core themes of love, hope, rebellion redemption and creativity. it was NEVER about cobs being "right" that the contestants never existed or that mephone's creativity and inspirations were worthless even if the final outcome wasn't always the best or exactly what he wanted. if the show ended w/ episode seventeen they would essentially be saying that cobs was right and that none of the contestants were ever real or mattered. inanimate insanity is a radically hopeful show about creation and the impact artistic inspirations can have on someone's life. to say that art and creation doesn't matter and isn't "real" would be spitting in the face of that message
