Just an Old Friend
For aphnouvellefrance
Berwald walked into the café withTino. They were on a quick lunch-date between the meetings of the day. Sitting down at the table, they ordered their drinks.
“This is a great place you found, Ber,” Tino beams, looking around the room. “Hopefully nobody else had the same idea,” he adds, satisfied with his view.
The Swede hummed in reply, sipping at his coffee that’d been served moments ago. “As long as Matthias doesn’t show up, I’m fine,” Berwald says. Tino giggles, knowing when the other was joking from all their time spent together. The Swedish man smiles a bit at his partner before their food finally shows up as well.
Tino talks about his day and occasionally complaining about his obscene amounts of work. Berwald listens and answered when there was something to say, but mainly allowed the man to babble as pleased. When they had finished their lunch, they left the shop to return to the meeting hall. Despite all the boring speeches, it was a great day. It was warm outside with the perfect amount of sun and Berwald was spending it all with his favourite person.
The Swede was smiling as they returned, holding hands as they entered the huge building. Out of the corner of his eye, Berwald spotted someone familiar. Turning his head to get a better look, the Swede’s stomach dropped. He hadn’t seen Ludwig in years, what was he doing here? Fortunately, the German seemed to have not noticed him and continued walking outside, probably for a smoke…
“Berwald, is everything alright?” chimed Tino, gently squeezing the man’s hand.
Shaking the troublesome thoughts from his head, Berwald glanced down at the other with a soft, reassuring smile. “Yes, sorry. Everything’s fine,” he states, continuing to lead the Fin into their next hall, grateful they worked for the same company.
Pouting, Tino couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling in his stomach that something was bothering his lover. “Who was that man,” he asks, “The one you were looking at?”
With a sigh, the Swede sat down besides Tino in the long row of chairs assembled in front of the stage. “Just… an old friend,” he informs as the speech commences.

Grey Days
“Hej, Ber,” Matthias greets, entering the room, on his way to get a beer from their dorm mini fridge. “You feeling alright?” He adds, noticing his roommate was in bed despite it being the middle of the day.
“No..” the Swede mumbled just loud enough for the other to hear from his curled up position on the bed. “These exams are too much, I can’t deal with this anymore,” he admits, seemingly shrinking even more.
Deciding against the beer for the sake of his depressed boyfriend, Matthias shuts the fridge and sits himself on the ledge of Berwald’s bed, empty-handed. “That bad, huh?” he queries, glancing down at the man as he threaded his fingers through that short blond hair of Berwald’s, receiving a nod in reply.
The Swedish man sits up, keeping a blanket draped over his shoulders as he rubbed at his tired face. “I’m going to fail…” he says, as if his fate was already set in stone.
“No, you’re not!” Matthias assures, “I’ll help you in any way I can, I won’t let you fail, Ber.” The Dane takes an end of the blanket and drags some over his shoulders as well. “But, how about we take today easy, you look like you could use the break,” he points out, taking in Berwald’s exhausted features. “C’mere,” Matthias gestures with a gentle squeeze to the Swede’s arm to cuddle.
“You’re the best,” Berwald states as he slips into the man’s lap, relaxing with a satisfied sigh as Matthias protectively nestled them in the blanket.
“Yeah, I know,” answers the Dane with a satisfied as he placed a gentle kiss to his boyfriend’s temple, “I love you, Berwald.”

How do I explain this to a 13 year old who’s been dead for 50 years not to do that
Is it just me or did Hanako-kun practically just sacrifice Aoi for Yashiro’s lifespan???

When you try to leave kudos on a fic you’re reading for the first time but it says “you’ve already left kudos here”

Full offense but your writing style is for you and nobody else. Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use “unrealistic” writing patterns, slap words you don’t even know are words on the page. Language is a sandbox and you, as the author, are at liberty to shape it however you wish. Build castles. Build a hovel. Build a mountain on a mountain or make a tiny cottage on a hill. Whatever it is you want to do. Write.

@grimwoode
The best part of being a fanfiction writer is when you make friends with other fanfiction writers, who show you things they’re secretly working on before AO3 gets to read them. And you’re so excitedly happy for them and their beautiful secret project that it actually hurts a little.

it DOES say in his description in the Android List™ on the wikia that he was designed to be the 'Perfect Partner' or teammate. My guess is that every 'Connor' is vastly different because each iteration designs themselves to their coworkers social needs/preferences. C51 (Deviant!Connor) is kind, sassy, ironic, determined, expressive, and patient, while C60 (Tower!Connor) is dramatic, superior, schadenfreudic, violent, and sarcastic. Two /very/ different personalities… I /love/ this thought.
I love that even though they’re an AI of all the same programming that their technology is that complex and advanced to be able to independently customize themselves to their designated users.
C60, we can assume has never left the tower especially since C51 is one of the first (if not only prototype) deployed, and this was during the android mass deactivation. If that’s the case, then C60 is really only colder because of its lack of experience and social development in comparison to C51 who needed to adapt and become more human-like to get along with its colleagues/users for the sake of its missions/instructions. ALTHOUGH, if you played the game like I did where the first and second mission is successful, but because of Hank’s influence, the rest of the missions were basically a failure. So basically, the RK800s work best without human influence/interaction confusing their systems with unnecessary information such as human morals.
#kaffeogte#in this essay i will#I really hate referring to the androids as it but for the sake of the ai argument#dbh#detroit become human#dbh connor#Connor#rk800
