"The Pirate Club" - Major Project: DFT
Role: Producer
Year of Production: 2023
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Coming of Age
Logline: A group of young nerds have spent their whole lives buried inside books. However, before their first day in national service, they make a promise to live out all of their teenage dreams, one way or another, in a singular night.
Synopsis: Three geeky Junior College graduates find themselves on the brink of change with National Service starting the next day. Fearing that they have not experienced anything noteworthy in their entire lives, they create a list of daring and perilous tasks to complete by the end of the night, setting out to prove to each other their preparedness for the challenges of military life.

"The Pirate Club" - Trailer
The trailer for my final year project, The Pirate Club. As producer for this film, I coordinated the logistics for over 10 different locations, managed a team of 12 people, liaised with multiple clients over sponsorships and other businesses, and ensured all production timelines were met. Overcame challenges like tight budgets and adverse weather to successfully deliver the project on time.
Recently, The Pirate Club was awarded a certificate for attaining one of the top 10 finalist positions (out of 100+ films!) for the Short Film Youth Competition 2024.

"Childhood Hero" - Documentary Project
Role: Producer
Year of Production: 2023
Genre: Documentary
Synopsis: ‘Childhood Hero’ honours a mother's occupation of being a preschool teacher. As the documentary unfolds, we witness the sacrifices and struggles she meets along the way. Despite all of which, she perseveres hoping to nurture the younger ones into being successful people one day and becoming a role model for both of her kids. As such we would appreciate their job as preschool teachers.

As producer, I was again in charge of scheduling, budgeting, paperwork and providing welfare. However, this documentary involved the role of children so there was a lot more client liaison to be done. This was because I had to ensure my team and I followed all the guidelines of the Personal Data Protection Act. It was challenging for me as confrontational situations are intimidating but I pulled through!

"Anak Yang Dijanjikan" - Short Film Project 2
Role: Producer
Year of Production: 2022
Genre: Horror
Synopsis: ‘Anak Yang Dijanjikan’ is about Syarifah- who was unwelcome upon arriving at her kampong. Upon prolonging her stay despite several warnings, she finds out there is a jinn haunting her for being pregnant. In a state of panic, she had to deliver her baby and was vulnerable to the entity. Unfortunately, the jinn follows her home.

For this module, I was the producer for the first time! I created schedules, risk assessments, production reports and managed all the budgeting and paperwork. I had to provide welfare for the whole crew and keep the morale of my group high as well. I stepped up and took on an acting role when unforeseen circumstances arose thus balancing multiple responsibilities whilst ensuring production stayed on schedule.

Synopsis: ‘The Secret' is a short film about Ashley, a girl who thrived off being mean on social media for the validation, and Sarah- Ashley's best friend- who became a victim to Ashley's actions. Ashley must learn how to make things better between the two of them.

As assistant director, I was in charge of making call sheets, shooting plans and script breakdowns. During shoot, I was in charge of media-logging, ensuring things were moving in accordance to schedule, and supporting my crew in any way possible.

"Between Two Lamps" - Studio Production
Role: Floor Manager
Year of Production: 2022
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis: Set in the '90s, an unprepared talk show “Between Two Lamps" airs with many awkward moments and errors. The host interviews a celebrity, but his satirical questions frustrate the guest, who tries to leave. The host insists on continuing, leading to a charades game where the guest cheats by reading answers from a whiteboard behind the host. Embarrassed, the host quickly ends the show after a few minutes.
Grade: B+

As floor manager I was in charge of miking up actors, preparing props and relaying information quickly across the whole studio. I had to move with precision while coordinating directions from my teammates in the control studio to the cameramen on the ground floor.

Production Design in Film & Television (Year 2)
Role: Props Master
Year of Production: 2022
Grade: A
As props master, I planned to coordinate with my team’s IC about the logistics of what props were needed to build our set. Apart from that, my group and I built this entire set from scratch. It took us two weeks to gather props, nail and hammer everything together, paint the wooden structure and put everything together. To create such a beautiful fake shop, my team and I had to have a keen eye for small details.

Company: iClick Media Pte. Ltd.

The work I did consisted of video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Capcut and Adobe After Effects. I also created storyboards and shot lists for shoots, designed ideation documents and proposals for social media marketing purposes, and did filming on site as well. Some clients I did work for were: My Brother SG, TechLaw.Fest, Fullerton Clinic, NUS and Our Tampines Hub.

During my internship, I also volunteered my time outside company hours to help out at My Brother SG’s migrant worker recreational event. It was a pseudo carnival event where the workers played games and won prizes!

Temasek Polytechnic (2021 - 2024)
During my time at Temasek Polytechnic, I learnt many new skills and gained brilliant insight through the modules I accomplished. I built friendships with my peers and gained lifelong friends through the way. My journey throughout my three years in poly has helped me step out of my comfort zone and take on daunting tasks that I never would have seen myself doing in the past.
Notable Modules
Production Planning & Management - A This subject covered the duties of a producer and production manager in the industry, including scheduling, budgeting, location scouting, and casting.
Workplace Communication - A Employability skills in the context of career preparation and professional communication skills for the workplace are covered in this course.
Creative storytelling - B+ I went through the process of turning a concept into a narrative using the correct framework for the visual media.
Screenwriting - B I learnt the fundamentals of screenplay composition and visual storytelling.
Writing for Non-Fiction Film & Television - B+ I applied my screenwriting knowledge to the documentary and non-fiction genres covered in this course, to create an audio-visual script that told a compelling story and conveyed a powerful message. This subject developed the integration of interviews and narration into my documentary as well.
Video Editing - B+ Aspects of non-linear video editing were taught in this subject, along with an introduction and further development of editing language and concepts. It set the foundation for my editing skill set, and my internship further improved it.

Riverside Secondary School (2017-2020)
Being a Riversidian played an integral part in shaping who I am today. I have grown to be confident in my self-identity all whilst upholding the values that my school led by. My early adolescence was built upon each and every single Moment that occurred during this period of time.
I was privileged enough to have been class vice-chair for two years as well as the head secretary of my co-curricular activity (Drama).
Drama Club was a very important thing to me- it was my second home at the time. Winning silver for SYF, performing our plays and bringing our stories to life will all be experiences I will remember forever.
I gained many fun memories and valuable life experience through volunteering as well - from being an Orientation Group Leader, to facilitating a cupstacking event. One very memorable event I volunteered for the 2019 Bubble Tea Fes where I volunteered to be a dunking booth operator (/victim).

Personal Video Edits - Halloween
Halloween 2023 changed my life. Kind of. During my course's Halloween event, I decided I wanted to be bald. The most famous bald person I could only ever imagine being recognised as was, of course, Mr. Worldwide himself: Pitbull. I became Pitbull for one night, interacted with many, many, people and somehow the spirit of Pitbull infiltrated my body. Because when the DJ started playing Hotel Room Service by Pitbull, I found myself in the middle of a dance circle very suddenly. I never felt so confident in my life, and when the moment ended, I had no recollection of even moving.
